Overview
Villa Lapas is a charming two-bedroom residence situated just minutes from the beach, the national park, and Quepos. Nestled within lush jungle surroundings, it lies within a biological corridor that supports local wildlife. This home offers spacious master bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a large living area featuring vaulted ceilings, and a kitchen that opens onto the outdoor living space surrounding the pool. An additional apartment is available for rent with groups of six or more. Villa Lapas serves as a peaceful and central retreat.
The Space
On the entry level, Villa Lapas includes two generously sized bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, along with a separate sitting and living area.
- Bedroom 1 contains a king bed, a queen Murphy bed, and a small sofa bed.
- Bedroom 2 features a king bed and a single bed.
- There is also a small sofa bed located in the upper living area.
A spiral staircase leads down to the living room and kitchen, which boast high ceilings and connect to the outdoor covered arcade and pool area through sliding glass doors. The living area includes:
- A large dining table seating eight
- Television
- Air conditioning
- Full bathroom
- Laundry room
The outdoor arcade extends to a spacious terrace, beneath which the apartment is located.
Apartment
The newly added apartment is compact, modern, and inviting, with sliding glass doors linking the bedrooms to the living room and outdoor patios. It includes:
- Master bedroom with a queen bed
- Guest bedroom with a double bed
Set amid the rainforest, the apartment offers a private and tranquil environment. Please note that access to the apartment is via a short outdoor staircase. This apartment is only available for groups of six or more.
Guest Access
Guests have exclusive use of the entire property. The apartment is offered at an additional cost and only to groups of six or more. It will not be rented separately during your stay.

The place was beautiful and very clean. We had the pleasure of seeing capuchin and squirrel monkeys plus a pair of toucans during our stay that visited the house. It was a very peaceful stay. There are several restaurants within walking distance but most involve walking a very steep hill. We had a rental car and drove everywhere.

The layout of the house is really cool; the pictures don't really do it justice. Also, the real gem of booking this property is the concierge, Vanessa. She was fantastic. She was extremely helpful booking activities, giving suggestions, and went out of her way to setup a birthday celebration for my daughter at a local restaurant. Highly recommend using her services.

Beautiful stay with lush greenery and wildlife surrounding the airbnb. Inside the amenities were as described. Knocked 1 star off due to a camera on the patio that faced directly onto the patio seating as well as directly inside the living room and kitchen. Not a huge deal but also slightly uncomfortable to feel like we are being surveillanced.

Was looking to stay in a spacious, comfortable home with a pool and surrounding nature, and it delivered. The large home is in a beautiful jungle setting with plenty of areas to lounge and relax. We loved seeing the various birds and monkeys visiting the property every day. Everything was great. Having a car was convenient for getting around given the home is tucked into a more remote/private street.

The house is beautiful, no doubt about it. But finding the house was a truly awful experience. Map/address was completely wrong. Directions were way too vague. Host was unresponsive with an average response time of 8 hours, which, if you’re having a hard time finding the place and it’s after business hours, you’re going to be SOL. It was a miracle we found it. Also, basement rooms were really dank and smelled strongly of mildew, even after I ran the dehumidifier and AC all day, so they were unusable as rooms. House was super beautiful and SUPER clean, but with all the issues we experienced, I would not recommend this to my friends. This is truly the only bad experience we’ve had with Airbnb, but we almost had to sleep in our car with our two young kids the first night because we couldn’t find the home and the host never replied to us until the next morning.

We spent just over a week here and had a wonderful time. Kent is a great host; responsive and accommodating, which was hugely appreciated. The house is stunning and bigger than I expected. It’s beautifully designed and very well equipped. It was spotlessly clean, well maintained and had lovely bedding. It’s a great base from which to explore the local area. There’s not too much that’s easily walkable (lots of hills and no pavement) but the bus stop is a couple of minutes walk and it’s quick and easy to get taxis. Most taxis dropped us on the main road as they didn’t want to drive up the path and there are a fair few steps to the property - something to consider if mobility is a challenge. I’d also be careful with toddlers as the stairs in the house, while beautiful, could be tricky. All in all, would highly recommend.
