Hosts
Your hosts are Mack, a 33-year-old Canadian, and Elison, a local Guna.
Mack has lived in Guna Yala for more than five years and will serve as your co-host and captain. Elison is happy to share stories about Guna history and culture.
If you choose the meal and drink service, Mack’s partner, Meliza, will prepare your meals as the personal chef. She lives with their two young children on the family boat, which is separate from Constellation. Their children were born in the local community.
Cultural Experience
Commercial sailing charter activity has increased significantly in San Blas in recent years. While many generic sailing tours are promoted through sailing agencies and social media, Constellation offers a different kind of experience.
San Blas is more than its beaches, palm trees, and crystal-clear water. The local Guna community welcomes opportunities to share its stories and learn about visitors’ lives and cultures. Guests are encouraged to visit local communities and learn about the Guna way of life.
Meals and Drinks
The meal and drink package costs $60 per person per day and includes alcohol in moderation.
Alternatively, guests may prepare their own meals in the well-equipped onboard kitchen with support from the hosts.
There are no grocery stores in San Blas. To support sustainable practices and reduce waste, fruits and vegetables are purchased without plastic packaging from a weekly vegetable boat. Guests are also welcome to bring fresh food from Panama City to supplement the onboard dishes.
Guests are asked to help minimize waste by bringing their plastic waste back to Panama City in plastic jugs when they return.
Sustainability and Water Use
The yacht uses solar panels for energy. On cloudy days, the onboard battery supply may be limited.
To improve energy efficiency, each cabin is provided with:
- At least two portable fans
- One rechargeable light
Rainwater and river water are collected for showering, so guests are asked to conserve fresh water and take short showers.
Guest Access
Guests have shared access to nearly everything aboard, including:
- Snorkeling equipment
- Kayaks
- Fishing gear
- Stand-up paddleboards
- Water toys
Fresh water is limited, so showers must be taken conservatively.

There really should be a 6-star option on Airbnb for places that are not just an accommodation but an entire experience. I had just one night on the boat but it was everything you could dream of. Ellison & Mack took excellent care of us from the first to last minute on the vessel. The food was excellent and the portions were exceptionally generous! Whether snorkeling or enjoying my book on deck it was bliss the entire time. As a solo traveler I appreciated Mack’s prompt and thorough communication. The other guests on the boat were absolutely lovely and we got on as if we had been friends forever. Sensational experience and I can’t wait to return!

We could not of asked for a better place to stay for our vacation in San Blas. Food was some of the best we’ve ever had, the weather was perfect, and the San Blas Islands are an incredible place. Ellison and Mac showed us around some of the nicest snorkeling spots and some great islands. Cannot recommend booking with Mac more, we will definitely be letting all our friends and family know about this stay.

We had a wonderful time aboard Mackenzie’ boat. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Panama! He went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Would highly recommend the meal package. The food was delicious!

Where do I start?!? Mack and Ellison were great hosts! Ellison made sure everyone’s needs were met (I wish I spoke more Spanish to be able to have conversations with him!). Food was phenomenal and well balanced with fruit/veggies/carbs and fresh protein from the sea caught daily by Ellison. The area looks exactly like you see online. So many islands…so little time. Beds were comfortable and each room was equipped with rechargeable fans for cooling. If it started raining during the night, Ellison would run and shut the hatch above each room. He loaded/unloaded the dingy with all of our snorkeling gear each outing. When we ended up with poor snorkeling (we explored the wrong side of the island), Mack sailed us to a better spot in the afternoon to make up for it. He and his family live on their own boat anchored next to ours. We stayed for 5 nights while other couples came and went, which gave us the opportunity to meet some really nice people. HIGHLY recommend and I’m hoping to return!

We are incredibly happy that we were able to spend two nights at the Constellation. We were in Panama for our honeymoon, and staying at Mackenzie's was the best way to end it that we could have wished for. Mackenzie gave us so many unforgettable moments, and you can tell that he is very familiar with the Guna Yala area and culture. The food you get on board the ship, which Melissa cooks, is very, very tasty. We got the best octopus of our lives. My husband's birthday was on one of the evenings, and he even got a special birthday cake. Everyone on board is super friendly and goes above and beyond to make your stay unique. Thank you for this great experience!

I came with my two young kids and husband for four nights in February. We unfortunately struck upon some severe weather and were unable to sail as much as initially anticipated. Despite this, there was still lots to do on nearby islands. When we did get sailing we got the sense that Captain Mack was a proficient sailor and knowledgable about the local area. Makut, our local host, was attentive and helpful. Melissa prepared delicious meals and was responsive to our kids’ preferences. Overall, a unique way to take in a beautiful spot.

To say our stay on Mackenzie's boat was like a dream feels like a gross understatement. Two friends and I spent two nights in the gorgeous San Blas Islands, and they pretty much had to pull us kicking and screaming when it was time to leave. This place is paradise. We got to go for a big sail, which felt like such a treat. The food was plentiful and delicious. We snorkeled, visited white sandy beaches, sat at the bow while rolling down waves, read books and chatted, spotted dolphins, and questioned our entire existence, while Mac and Macu made our stay so memorable and pleasant. Thank you, Mac and Macu, this was the highlight of our trip! Sophie, Sophie & Julie

Our stay on Mackenzie's boat was amazing. In addition to the incredible views and crystal clear water of the San Blas archipelago, all his staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. We had wonderful meals made by Melissa. All the fish and seafood were very fresh and delicious. We made a request to have vegetarian meals for my girlfriend and they offered us a multitude of options. The local guide who works on the boat, Makuto, was also extremely kind, offered to help whenever possible and gave us several tips on what to do on site. We had a lot of fun and recommend it to anyone looking for a different trip.

An incredibly magical stay in San Blas with Mackenzie and his family. My husband and I and our 2 year old stayed 3 nights on Mackenzie’s beautiful boat and loved every second of it! We went to a new island everyday, and even got a chance to go to the local Guna village which was very special. Melissa’s cooking was so good! Fresh fish and lagostina, and fresh ingredients. My son had a wonderful time and we loved spending time with Mackenzie’s kids too. This was definitely a memorable trip for us and we will definitely come back again soon. For anyone thinking of a unique and spectacular trip with family or solo - book with Mackenzie and his lovely family!

Wonderful stay in a beautiful location! We had the best time staying on Mack’s boat. Mack and crew were super attentive, very laid back, knowledgeable, and fun!!! We were able to visit numerous islands, the boat was very clean and comfortable, and all the food (3 meals per day) was delicious. I would definitely recommend Mack’s boat to others. Great experience.
