For those wishing to explore the island, scooters can be rented. Alternatively, guests can relax on the beach or terrace, watching the sunset while observing monkeys and hundreds of birds and parrots returning to the nearby trees.
The property includes a lakefront house with a second-floor terrace accessible to guests, a beach gazebo, parking space, and three cabins spaced approximately six meters apart. Each casita accommodates two guests. If you are booking for a larger group, the other two tiny homes are located nearby on the map.

The property is situated on an island that is a natural reserve, offering a unique environment rich in wildlife. The 700-meter dirt road leading to the casitas is mostly flat and generally better maintained than many other dirt roads on the island. However, after heavy rains, some sections may become rocky. Driving slowly is advised, and a vehicle with slightly higher clearance is beneficial.

Because Ometepe is a natural reserve, the island hosts a variety of insects, mammals, birds, and reptiles. While the indoor areas have been bug-proofed as much as possible, guests may still encounter small ants, geckos, or occasionally non-venomous scorpions or spiders. These creatures are generally slow-moving and can be removed easily. It is recommended to keep doors closed to prevent flying insects from entering the cabins.

This was by far the best Airbnb experience we had in Nicaragua. The host was very informative and nice, giving us many recommendations and tips for the island. The house and the nature around it are 100% worth it. I would recommend this spot to anyone visiting Ometepe!

We felt so comfortable at the place that we extended our stay by two nights. Communication with Birte and Federico was impeccable - we felt super warmly welcomed. There are countless recommendations from both on what to do on Ometepe. At the same time, both also gave us helpful tips for our onward journey. The place is beautiful. Modern and quiet location; but you can also get to the lively surroundings quickly by scooter. We can only recommend everyone to spend time in the accommodation and with Birte and Federico!

The stay was great. Very quiet, perfect for relaxing but also perfectly located for any activities that are easy to reach by ATV or scooter. Accommodation was simple but nice and clean, everything you need for a few great days on Ometepe.

Federico and Birte's casitas are real little wonders. They are functional and offer comfort in the middle of the jungle! While swimming in the lake, you can have an extraordinary view of the Conception volcano and the sunset! Birte and Federico are very responsive to help you if needed and they recommend great activities to do! Congratulations to both of you and thank you for this stay

We loved our stay in our little casita! From the interior to the surrounding, everything was perfect. Birte & Federico are the sweetest hosts, always making sure you have everything you need and helping out with anything! Their place is beautiful, peaceful and super well thought and maintained. You can enjoy your time in the hammock, on the rooftop, playing ping-pong, doing some yoga, swimming, kayaking, etc. It’s a little paradise in the nature with a private access to the lake and the view on the volcanos and for sunset is incredible! Federico’s casita was the best AirBnB we had during our trip in Nicaragua and definitely made our stay in Ometepe memorable. The room is even better than the pictures, super clean with all the basic amenities and more. They even had cold filtered water in the fridge at our arrival. The exterior installations were well-maintained and absolutely stunning with views from both volcanoes. Communications with Federico were easy and he made sure to provide us all the information about the island prior to our stay, including guide contacts and dining spots. The location is ideal and close to great beaches and restaurants. We have absolutely nothing bad to say and cannot recommend it enough. Thank you again for everything!
