Casa Cielo Jungle House
The main house is a modern, two-story jungle home designed for indoor-outdoor living. Large openings on the main level connect the interior with the surrounding gardens, pool, and outdoor spaces.

The main level includes:
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Dining deck overlooking the pool
- King bedroom
- Full bathroom
- Outdoor mudroom
- Guest laundry room
Upstairs, the great room opens onto elevated observation decks and walkways surrounded by the forest canopy. It is a favorite spot for morning coffee, wildlife watching, sunsets, and views toward the Arenal and Tenorio volcanoes.
The upper level also features:
- Spacious king master bedroom
- Private bathroom
- Partially outdoor shower
- Additional queen bedroom

- Full bathroom
- Mini refrigerator
- Service bar
- Sitting areas on the front porch
- Elevated balcony
The Jungalow provides a more intimate jungle experience while remaining part of the private Casa Cielo compound.

The poolside rancho includes:
- Seating
- Service area
- Refrigerator
There is also a poolside restroom and shower. The surrounding gardens feature tropical plants, fruit trees, and forest vegetation, while wildlife regularly moves through the nearby jungle corridor.
Rositas: Private Dining and Gathering Space
Rositas is a private dining and kitchen area reserved exclusively for Casa Cielo guests. It gives families and groups a dedicated place to gather for meals without crowding into the main house.

Cielo Ranch Reserve
The defining feature of Casa Cielo is its surroundings. The property is located within Cielo Ranch Reserve, a 105-acre private wildlife reserve, reforestation project, and working cattle ranch.
Our family purchased the former dairy farm in 2006 and began restoring the property by planting thousands of trees, including native Mountain Almond trees, an important food source for the endangered Great Green Macaw.
Nearly two decades later, the recovering forest provides habitat for an extraordinary variety of wildlife. Guests may encounter:
- Howler monkeys
- White-faced monkeys
- Spider monkeys
- Sloths
- Toucans
- Great Curassows
- Great Green Macaws
- Many other tropical birds and animals
Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, but discovering what appears each day is part of living in the jungle.
Private trails lead through:
- Secondary and primary forest
- Reforestation projects
- Wetlands
- Areas along the Pataste River
Because these trails are within the reserve and primarily for our guests, they offer a different experience from visiting a crowded national park.
Experience the Working Ranch
Cielo Ranch Reserve is also an active cattle ranch. Depending on the day's ranch activities, guests may have opportunities to:
- See the cattle
- Milk cows
- Participate in daily farm activities around the reserve
This can be especially memorable for families traveling with children and offers a glimpse of rural Costa Rican life that most visitors never experience.
A Different Kind of Costa Rica Vacation
Casa Cielo is not designed to feel like a resort. It is intended for travelers seeking privacy, nature, wildlife, and space to reconnect with family and friends while still enjoying comfortable accommodations, a swimming pool, breakfast, housekeeping, and personalized assistance planning a Costa Rica vacation.
Spend the day exploring Arenal and La Fortuna, or stay on the property to walk through the forest, watch monkeys from the house, enjoy the pool, and experience life on a private Costa Rican reserve.
One compound. One group. Your own piece of the Costa Rican jungle.
Guest Access
Guests have exclusive use of the entire Casa Cielo Jungle House compound, including:
- Casa Cielo Jungle House
- The Casita Loft
- The Jungalow
- Swimming pool
- Outdoor entertaining areas
- Rositas, the private guest dining and kitchen area
Guests also have access to the private nature trails throughout Cielo Ranch Reserve. A trail map is provided, along with an orientation covering the reserve, trail conditions, and important jungle safety guidelines.
Because the property is a working cattle ranch and wildlife reserve, some agricultural and operational areas may occasionally have restricted access. Please let us know before heading out on longer hikes so we know where you are on the reserve.
Detailed information about the property, trails, wildlife, and safety is also provided in the house guide.
Other Things to Note
Casa Cielo is located within a real tropical wildlife reserve and working cattle ranch, so your stay may differ from a conventional resort or vacation rental.
You can expect the sounds and sights of the jungle, including birds, frogs, insects, and occasional wildlife around the compound. Wildlife sightings are common but never guaranteed.
Tropical weather can change quickly, and trail conditions may vary after heavy rain. We will keep you informed about current conditions and help you plan accordingly.
The ranch is also an active agricultural property. You may occasionally see our team working with cattle, maintaining trails, or carrying out conservation and reforestation projects.
We encourage guests to ask questions, explore, and experience the reserve. Our goal is to make your stay comfortable while providing an authentic opportunity to experience rural Costa Rica and the tropical forest surrounding Casa Cielo.

We had a wonderful stay at Cielo Ranch Reserve! The location is absolutely beautiful—private, peaceful, and surrounded by stunning scenery, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The owners were incredibly responsive, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Their hospitality made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Both the house and the loft are modern, beautifully designed, and exceptionally clean. Everything was well maintained and thoughtfully prepared, creating a comfortable and enjoyable experience. We ate at Rosey's Restaurant every night during our visit, and the food was delicious. It quickly became our favorite meals of the trip. We highly recommend Cielo Ranch Reserve to anyone looking for a private, comfortable, and memorable Costa Rica getaway. We would love to return!

Paul's place is uniquely wonderful. There's a peacefulness that is hard to put into words. We loved that we got to stay on the farm, explore the land, and eat great food right on location. Paul and his family are nearby to answer questions or share about their latest farm project. We walked around and watched the monkeys, floated in the pool while toucans flew overhead, went to sleep listening to frogs, and woke up to beautiful sunrises. Highly recommend ordering dinners there and eating in the beautiful covered dining patio.

Our family of 10 stayed in this amazing place. It was the most beautiful place we have ever stayed and we have traveled quite a bit. Paul and his family were super responsive , friendly and helpful. The tour of his ranch is not to be missed! Paul and his dad were filled with interesting information about the ranch. Rosie's cooking was the best- the breakfast had lots of choices and was so good. The taco dinner we had one night was the best meal we have had in Costa Rica. There were so many beautiful birds everywhere and we saw monkeys up close one day at breakfast. The bedrooms were spacious and well supplied. The kids loved the pool. The worst part was having to leave this beautiful place and this wonderful family! We all highly recommend staying here- you will be treated like family.

Our stay was as close to perfect as possible. Paul went above and beyond for any need we possibly had and breakfast was icing on the cake for sure. Made the entire stay one to remember.

Paul and Rosie made our Costa Rica trip unforgettable! From the moment we booked, they helped plan every detail, including transportation, excursions, and activities on the property. Everything was seamless, and Paul checked in with us each evening to review the next day’s plans and make sure we had everything we needed. We ate every meal at Rosie’s Kitchen, and every dish was incredible—fresh, delicious, generous portions, homemade breads and cheeses, fresh-pressed juices, and even a birthday cake Rosie made for our friend! The property is beautiful, peaceful, and secluded—the perfect getaway. Our group of seven adults had plenty of space, the beds were comfortable, everything was spotless, and the AC kept the rooms cool. We made memories that will last a lifetime, thanks to Paul and Rosie. Don’t waste another minute searching—book this place. You won’t regret it!

Our family had a great time at Casa Cielo. Paul, Rosita, and Bill took excellent care of us, from setting up fun activities to providing delicious meals at Rosita’s. The property is amazing, so beautiful and peaceful. It was incredible to look out at the jungle from the infinity pool. The Jungle House and Casita Loft were very clean and had everything we needed during our stay. We spent a day enjoying the pool and walking the trails. Paul helped arrange waterfall rappelling, ziplining, and a hanging bridge tour. The activities were all a lot of fun and located approximately an hour from the property. Paul also provided detailed directions to ensure we took the best routes to and from each activity. It was nice to start each day with breakfast at Rosita’s. The fresh fruit, juices, and meals were all delicious. We had wood-fired pizza one evening and a family-style dinner another night. Rosita is an amazing cook! We also did a bit of cooking ourselves and the house is well equipped.

This was the best stay ever. Paul is amazing, and we are so grateful for him. We are going to plan a trip back and just stay at Paul's for a week. I would seriously consider getting married here. There is so much land. The Airbnb is FLAWLESS. Not to mention - breakfast is included. It is the best, homemade breakfast ever. Everything is so beautiful. So many towels, the kitchen, bathrooms, everything spotless. You can tour the farm with Paul, and then feed cows. I could stay here for a year it was seriously the best stay ever. I will recommend this place to EVERYONE. I recommend if anyone just wants to get away, and be in the jungle, listening to birds and swimming in a waterfall pool that views the jungle - this is your place. Not even to mention he helps plan every excursion if you book here. Our schedule was jam packed with the best activities ever. No review I write will ever justify how perfect this place was. Thank you so much Paul for the most unforgettable trip.

Our stay at Paul’s place was the best part of our trip! The house is beautiful, the kids loved the pool, the food at Rosita’s on site was delicious, and you are immersed in nature. Paul was very responsive to questions and he planned and booked all our activities based on our preferences. The house is a bit of a drive to most activities, but we wanted the privacy and it was well worth it. We definitely recommend staying at Paul’s place.

We recently stayed at Casa Cielo with a multi-generational family group of 12 people- this was the best Airbnb experience we have had. I would have thought it would be impossible for Paul and Rosie and their place to live up to the perfect reviews but they do so and more. The home is amazing, the grounds are beautiful, the pool is wonderful and on top of that Rosie’s food is outstanding and Paul is incredibly helpful with booking, directions and advice throughout. Paul helped us make some tour bookings which made the process smooth, and the highlight of the trip for many of us was the paid ranch tour where we got to see the reforestation project, teak forest, learn about the local flora and fauna and then enjoyed learning to press sugarcane followed by a delicious lunch. Would recommend. If you are staying in this area with a large-ish group then you should not hesitate in booking this place.
