At Villas Serenidad, you can relax to the soothing sounds and breezes of the sea while enjoying a nearly private beach. The vibrant and authentic town of Puerto Viejo is conveniently close, about a 15 to 20-minute walk along the beach or a 10-minute bike ride away.
This custom-designed hardwood villa features a spacious air-conditioned bedroom and a charming covered outdoor kitchen and living area. Just steps from the villa, you will find lush tropical gardens and a direct path to the tranquil Playa Negra beach. The villa accommodates two guests and includes:
- Full bathroom stocked with bath and beach towels
- Internet and Wi-Fi with fiber optic connection
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Clean drinking water supplied by an eco-friendly filtration system in the kitchen

Guest Access
Guests have exclusive access to their reserved villa. The property contains five villas where guests may occasionally meet. Shared garden areas and beachfront spaces are available for everyone to enjoy.
A 20-minute walk along the beach or a 5-minute drive will take you to the bohemian, laid-back, and culturally rich town of Puerto Viejo. The town offers a variety of dining options, shopping, and activities such as surfing, jungle hikes, river rafting, zip-lining, chocolate tours, visits to animal sanctuaries, yoga classes, snorkeling, horseback riding, and paddleboarding.
Other Things to Note
The oceanfront villas share a large garden space. Garden view units are located on the ground floor, with ocean view units situated above them. Since the building is not constructed from concrete, some noise from guests in the upper units may be audible.

The staff at the villa was so fantastic, responsive, and helpful. We had a walkthrough of the whole place when we arrived and felt absolutely welcomed! We had a small accident with a clumsy coffee pot drop and they immediately were so understanding and replaced it. They were also responsive throughout the stay if there were issues and were flexible with check out on the last day. Overall we stayed for five nights and the beautiful location, beach access, plant life, and accommodations were the cherry on top to a perfect vacation. We were so in love with the Playa Negra area and would come back again in a heartbeat!! 💗 (Don’t forget to check out “Soda Mirna” across the street, the food was some of the best we’d had in CR!)

A lovely and secluded stay. The staff were friendly, kind, and helpful. There’s direct access to the beach which was not busy at all. Beautiful and would definitely come back.

The Airbnb is handled by a management team and the onsite staff is extremely friendly, competent and knowledgeable regarding the activities in the surrounding area. Our unit and the grounds were impeccably clean. Upon our arrival we were surprised with a welcome gift of wine and chocolate! Our unit - Garden #4 although partially open aired felt private and was very peaceful. We were also surprised with a mid-stay cleaning as we were there for 10 nights. I am a bit "fussy" about a fresh towel and although I respect their resources are different than where I live there was never an eye roll when I wanted to switch out my towels like you find in so many Caribbean locations. We had a car and explored quite a bit of the area - sure there looked like there were other cute places to stay but when something works so seamless there really is no reason to look... any return trip to the Puerto Viejo area will include a stay at Villas Serenidad we already miss our new friends aka the staff!

The location was fantastic. The sound of the ocean so close by, was wonderfully satisfying during the day and at night. The bedroom was comfortable and bug free. Even though the pictures didn’t quite match the room, it’s comforts became more clear over time. The staff was extraordinary and always willing to figure out a solution to any need or problem that arose. The AC was deeply appreciated.

What a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. It was a private and comfortable jungle oasis that gave us access to everything we wanted to experience while being a haven to escape to for rest when we were ready. Absolute perfection!

It was a great place to explore Peurto Viejo, Cahuits, with lots of restaurants and lovely beaches. David and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We felt the place was looking a bit tired in places, but was very clean.

This place was honestly perfect. From the moment we got there, it felt calm and welcoming. The house was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed. You can tell they really cares about their guests — he checked in to make sure we were comfortable but also gave us our space to just relax. The best part was the view of the beach — waking up to the sound of the waves and sitting outside with coffee every morning was unreal. It felt private but still close enough to everything we wanted to do. Couldn’t recommend it more thank you, for being such an amazing host!
