The Space
This exclusive artist’s loft has been transformed into a fully furnished living space that combines refined finishes, privacy, and a distinctive location. Hidden among pine trees, the property offers access by road, beach, and helicopter and is located just 1 mile from San Marcos.
The modern home was designed and built by a Czech glass artist and his wife as their studio. They transformed the studio and several other properties into charming residences, creating nearly everything themselves—from the wall art and furniture to the landscaped garden.

The home comfortably accommodates 2–4 people. Large sliding doors connect the rooms to create a loft-style space measuring 1,506.82 square feet (148 square meters). The barn doors can also be closed to provide additional privacy.
Each room opens onto the wooden deck, which overlooks the lake and volcanoes.
For larger families, three additional rooms and an entire house are available for rent on the same property. Special occasions and events may also be hosted with prior approval.
Location
The house is set within a private garden in a quiet and secure natural environment, approximately 100 meters (328 feet) from the lakeshore.
- San Marcos village: 20-minute walk or 10-minute tuk-tuk ride
- San Marcos by boat: 7 minutes
- Panajachel by boat: 35 minutes
- Public boats depart from the private dock approximately every 20 minutes
- Restaurants and shops are accessible by foot, tuk-tuk, or boat
The property is surrounded by raw nature, and no chemicals are sprayed on-site. Harmless spiders or black scorpions may occasionally be seen.

Dining

The culinary offerings focus on organic, locally sourced ingredients prepared according to cherished family recipes. Guests may also travel to town for breakfast by boat, on foot, or by tuk-tuk.
At Anzan Table, dining is available for groups of at least six people during special events, retreats, unique occasions, or signature event nights. It does not operate as a daily restaurant.
Rates and Occupancy
- The listed price is based on occupancy by two adults.
- Each additional guest is charged $75 per person per night.
- Long-term rentals are available.
- Breakfast costs Q200 ($25 USD) per person, plus a 15% service charge.
Guest Access
Guests have access to the entire garden, except for the private area of the pink house, as well as the private dock and listed facilities.
The property can be accessed through the main gate on the road using a key provided at check-in. Road access for check-in must be arranged in advance. Otherwise, check-in takes place via the lakefront, where the boat arrives directly in front of the property.
Guests may arrive by private or public boat. Public boats can be flagged down at the private dock.
Check-In and Check-Out
Check-In
- Check-in: 2 p.m.
- Latest check-in: 6 p.m.
- Bags may be left on the property from noon.
- Late check-in is available only via the lakefront, with a private boat arriving directly at the property.
- Early check-in is subject to availability and an additional fee.
- Check-in is not permitted before noon due to security and the checkout process for other guests.
- Special check-in times require advance notice and management approval.
If you arrive before 2 p.m., your bags can be securely stored from noon until check-in.
Check-Out
- Check-out: 11 a.m.
- Late check-out until 2 p.m. is available for an additional $50, subject to availability.
Transportation
Private transportation can be arranged upon request:
- Private car from the airport to Panajachel: $170 or Q1,300, paid directly to the drivers
- Private boat from Panajachel to the property: Q300
- Private helicopter transportation is available; the flight takes approximately 35 minutes from the airport
A private boat, car, or helicopter can be arranged to arrive directly at the property.

For 20 years, the hosts have supported and operated a nonprofit organization focused on education, nutrition, and art in San Juan La Laguna. Guests interested in volunteering or supporting the Indigenous community are welcome to inquire.
House Rules
Only registered guests may stay on the property. Visitors, massage therapists, teachers, drone operators, commercial photographers, photography sessions, and overnight stays by unregistered guests are prohibited unless announced in advance and approved by management.
Violations may result in a $2,000 penalty. These rules help protect guest security and privacy.
Additional Information
Breakfast must be reserved at least one day in advance. Guests may also travel to town by boat, walk for approximately 20 minutes, take a tuk-tuk, or bring takeaway dinner back to the property.
The property is available for special occasions, events, retreats, and other private gatherings with prior arrangement.

A special place, surrounded by nature and incredible landscapes, all on the most beautiful lake in the world, Dita and Amilcar are super attentive, an experience worth living if you travel to Atitlan, Guatemala.

This is our second stay at The Artist's Loft and it was just as peaceful as the first time in 2017. The view is breathtaking and I feel the best view of Lake Atitlan. The house is spacious, sunny and airy. I enjoyed the firm bed. The staff, Dorca, Milka and Nathanael were helpful and responsive. We enjoyed reading on the deck and had almost all our meals there. I became friends with the parrot Victoria and became attached to her. Everytime I saw her she made me laugh. We very much enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary here. We could not be more pleased!! Dita is a wonderful host and has a beautiful property. She has great attention to detail. We could use her kayak and kayaked across the lake. She made us a delicious organic dinner on evening. Fabulous wine. She arranged for her yoga instructor to come and give me a private lesson along with a Mayan reading. He was so kind. She also arranged for a helicopter to come and pick my husband and I up to take us to the airport!!! Details!! Also the location is nice. You can walk into town, there are lots of stairs on the property. She has a dock and you can catch boats into the other towns. We felt safe and will come back!!

We stayed at upper house, 4 adults plus Pet. we had a good time and good weather. Food quality was really good and even best, if compared with surroundings places. You will need one day at least to enjoy and relax in Casa Rosada.

Dita was a great host. Her food and energy is amazing. Pros: •Private dock/beach •House look like the pictures if not better •Host is available to answer all concerns/needs •Private dinner cooked by Host was delicious •Friendly Dogs/Pets on premises •Bed and pillows are comfortable •House is very clean Cons: •Insects. You really have to be comfortable and okay with spiders and scorpions because there are many many many •Because you’re surrounded by trees there are also many birds. They were very noisy (we had to deal with a woodpecker which was a little frustrating) •The stairs are extremely dark and could use some light for people who like to stay out after sunset Overall I think it was a great and interesting experience.

My stay at Ditas was fabulous. She was extremely helpful arranging a driver and boats from Antigua and Pana and back and had amazing recommendations. The cottage was a perfect place for me to rest and regroup - extremely well equipped with amazing views, quiet, private, and just a little slice of heaven! Highly recommend!!

We loved our stay in the loft! The views are spectacular, the kitchen is well equiped so we were able to make most of our meals and enjoy them on the deck with the stunning view. We were happy with the privacy of the loft while also being within walking distance to San Marcos. Dita was very easy to reach if we needed anything which was great. We would definitely recommend this Airbnb.
