The Space
Along Costa Rica’s southern Pacific coastline, The Jade House offers a private retreat high in the jungle canopy. The property features three swimming pools, an outdoor billiards table, a home gym, a swim-up bar, and a children’s room accessible through a secret entrance in the wall.

The property underwent a full-scale renovation completed at the end of 2023.

The Jade House is located 10 minutes up a mountain road between Dominical and Uvita. The surrounding area offers beaches to the north and south, outdoor adventure tours, abundant wildlife, upscale restaurants, fresh fruit stands, souvenir shops, and beach bars.
Supermarkets, banks, and pharmacies are within a 20-minute drive.
Jumanji, an open-air restaurant and bar known for its food and relaxed atmosphere, is a five-minute walk away. For a more upscale dining experience, Restaurante Scala is located farther down the mountain road.

White-faced and howler monkeys are commonly seen around the property, and sloths may also be spotted. Scarlet macaws, toucans, and parrots frequently move through the nearby jungle canopy. Blue morpho butterflies are often visible from the balcony overlooking the sea.
Transportation
The drive from Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José (SJO) to the villa takes approximately 3.5 hours. Most guests rent a 4x4 vehicle and drive south from the airport.
Shuttle services are also available. Guests using a shuttle must switch to a 4x4 rental vehicle or taxi before traveling up the mountain road to the property.
Another option is to fly into San José and take a 20-minute commuter flight to Quepos, located approximately 30 minutes north of Dominical.

This villa is stunning. Even after staying there for a few days, we couldn't help but feel impressed when walking in by its open architecture and exquisite location. The staff at YouGetHere and the on-site housekeepers were all very friendly and responsive. The location is packed by useful quality-of-life touches that we did not necessarily expect (such as dimmable lights throughout, multi-room sound system with wall-mounted tablets for easy control, standalone ice-maker, etc). There's really not much in the negatives column; I guess it would have been nice to have a clear view of the sunsets while they were just out-of-sight in the canopy, but it would feel absolutely ridiculous to criticize the amazing view this location offers at any other time. Highly recommended. We had a wonderful time at the Jade House.

Wow! This home was so amazing. The home was spacious, and there were amazing. We were a family of 14 in each of a great holiday. This location did not disappoint. There is so much space that it never felt crowded. We all loved being in the pools. We had such incredible views and saw birds, iguanas, pecarry, etc, right from our windows or patio. Jonathan was so helpful assisting us both in preparing for trip, and referred us to excellent activities.l Just a few things to know....the road to the property is treacherous, especially when it rains. We definitely used 4 wheel drive. The electricity went out several times. I believe this may be due to solar power. Most of the time, the power reset itself very quickly, however. we did have an outage of almost 2 hours at roughly 10 pm on a very warm night. The "cleaner" on site, is inside the home 4-6 hours EVERY day. No notice. Effects privacy. Would highly recommend this beautiful home.

This home was a perfect location for our extended family of thirteen, ranging in ages from 76-10! The concierge help from scheduling tours, to private chef, to car rental and massages made my job so much easier as the one charged with the planning! Our stay in The Jade House was amazing from check-in to departure and the team that helped make it all happen was truly exceptional! Book the house, you won’t regret it! We are still group texting pictures and memories of our 4th of July Costa Rica vacation week!

The Jade House is magical! The property is gorgeous. Every room is unique and beautiful in it’s own way and the views are indescribable. The pools and back patio are an amazing place to start your day- and end it! We heard howler monkeys every morning, found the sloth everyday, got to watch white faced monkeys jump from tree to tree, were visited by an armadillo, maybe spotted a whale, and saw all kinds of birds and butterflies. The location is perfect- about equal distance between Dominical and Uvita and there’s plenty to explore in either town. We really enjoyed the area and surrounding beaches. Be aware, the road up in no joke! 4wd is a must. Power outages are also a possibility, although the property has a back up generator for the essentials which is nice. All in all, The Jade House was perfect for our group of 8 adults and 6 children! Pura Vida!
