It's amazing to stay in a beautiful colonial house that's 500 years old. It's also a great place for large groups because there's plenty of room to spread out with heaps of outdoor areas. There are two employees, Josefina and Tomas, on-site for a few hours a day (M-Sa) to clean and garden but they are very discreet. The only downside of this house is that it's on a busy street.

The houses (two joined together) with 4 bedrooms, courtyards, terraces, alcoves, was perfect for privacy, a place to write or read, entertain friends or take a nap. It was very close (3 blocks) from the Jardin and restaurants. It was filled with beautiful fliers and plants in the courtyards and terraces and antiques in the rooms. The hot tub was terrific every night. The housekeeper and groundsman, Josefina and Tomas, were lovely. We loved staying there and hope to go back. Cathy Allen, Santa Fe, NM

The photos, while beautiful, can’t convey the lyrical beauty of this unique place. Perfectly located by the Zona Centro, this colonial-era home is nonetheless a haven of peace and serenity. The lovely spaces are beautifully maintained by Josefina and Tomas, who are unobtrusive and also very knowledgeable about San Miguel de Allende. The hosts were consistently responsive and helpful. A delightful stay!

The house was exactly as described beautiful, spacious and peaceful. Right in the center of town easy to get around, and in the middle of all the attractions. Josefina and her husband Tomas were really sweet and kept the house clean. Josefina cooked breakfast a couple of days for us which was good. Our welcome was supposed to be a bottle of wine which was a nice wine, and chips with homemade guacamole, that we didn’t get. I know that if it was a bit more affordable I would rent it for a couple of months at a time. I had visited San Miguel de Allende many years ago and it was just as beautiful, I don’t know if it was the time of the year but it was OVER populated and there were so many so called influencers. Overall it is a beautiful town with a gorgeous house. Teresa

Magical. Our first trip out of the country with two young boys and they had more fun playing inside the house with the fountains than anything else we did. And it was much larger than than it looked in photographs, and the location is perfect. Make sure you go to the chocolate store a few doors.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The place was gorgeous—beautifully decorated, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. Everything felt cozy and well cared for, and it truly exceeded our expectations. Jean is a fantastic host—very responsive and attentive. Josefina warmly welcomed us and helped around the house, making us feel comfortable and at home right away(she is an amazing cook!!!!) The location is a huge plus: it’s very close to everything, which made getting around incredibly easy. At times it was a little cold, but aside from that, everything was absolutely perfect. We would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it!

The house is beautiful with lovely gardens and patios. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essential appliances. The housekeeper, Josefina was Excellent. She helped a lot with ironing our clothes and bringing us what we needed. Wonderful kind and caring Lady. My family enjoyed the stay at Jean’s house and would go back. Thanks.

Absolutely beautiful home and gracious hosts. Would love to have spent more time luxuriating in this most spacious home with so many gorgeously decorated rooms. But touring SMA called! We five women enjoyed a great dinner one evening prepared by Josephina, the housekeeper. Truly a 5 star experience. Thank you to our host and team!

Our Family of Five had a marvelous time in SMA and truly enjoyed our stay at Jean's wonderful home. We saw the pictures and fell in love with the idea of a home that had true Mexican culture and heritage. The house (really it's a compound) was better than the pictures. Plenty of space for each person to sprawl out, and the decor made you feel like you were back in time (in a good way). The proximity to everything (including Ahau Cafe with Mr. Rodriguez) was wonderful. If you're looking for an experience that will be memorable, along with some crazy INSTA-WORTHY pictures from the rooftop hot tub, then look no further. Thanks for a wonderful week.
