The "Casa Hernandez" property extends from the paved Main Road to the longest sandy beach stretch between two volcanoes, offering refreshing lake breezes.
This spacious, private bungalow features a clean bedroom with WiFi, one double bed, and one single bed (a third guest incurs a $10 per night surcharge). The bathroom is fully tiled with ceramic floors and includes warm water showers. The bungalow showcases handcrafted carved wood furniture, a wood and glass door, and screened windows with metal bars for security. The tropical hardwood ceiling is complemented by a ceiling fan for comfort.
A water filtration system with a colloidal silver ceramic liner provides purified mineral spring water sourced from Volcano Maderas. The private covered patio includes a hammock, table, and seating, surrounded by natural and cultivated gardens. There are no neighboring properties adjacent to the bungalow, ensuring privacy.
Parking is available inside the fenced and gated property. The grounds feature various fruit trees, herbs, ornamental flowers, and plants. The family also keeps several animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, a rabbit, and a pig, which live nearby and may occasionally visit the bungalow area. Guests are invited to tour the gardens and beachfront property.
"Casa Hernandez" is situated at the start of the San Fernando Beach Community. Nearby amenities include small shops (pulperías), produce stalls, and an ATM located a short walk from Hotel/Restaurant Xalli. The property fronts a shallow lake with a sandy bottom and shaded beach areas where you can find shells, seeds, and fragments of pre-Columbian pottery. Local horses, other domesticated animals, and abundant wildlife—including hawks, waterbirds, iguanas, toads, frogs, squirrels, and fireflies at dusk—are commonly seen.
Public buses and private taxis frequently travel along the paved Main Road in front of the property. The hosts can arrange island tours, volcano hikes, activities, and taxi transfers to both the mainland and island.
Guests have exclusive use of the private bungalow bedroom, bathroom, and covered patio. The hosts will provide a guided tour of the gardens, beachfront property, and the San Fernando Beach area, which boasts the longest sandy beach between two volcanoes.
Manuela and her family reside in an old wood adobe home toward the beachfront on the ancestral property, ensuring the bungalow area remains private with no adjacent neighbors. A studio apartment with a kitchenette and patio is currently under construction on the property.
