Casa Belen

Casa Belen is a comfortable finca-style house located a 10-minute walk from Central Park. Built in 1976 by an American writer who fell in love with Guatemala, the house has been carefully preserved with its original style and furnishings.

The street-facing section dates back to the colonial era and features walls approximately 80 centimeters thick.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

• The first bedroom has a king-size bed.
• The second bedroom is twice as large and includes one queen-size bed and two single beds.
• These two bedrooms share a bathroom with a bathtub and shower.

A separate building contains:

• A laundry area with a washing machine and dryer.
• A refrigerator.
• Direct access to a large, fully equipped kitchen with:
  • A modern oven.
  • A dishwasher.
  • A microwave.
  • A wide range of cooking accessories.

Leaving the kitchen, you will pass a traditional colonial pila, or fountain, before reaching the main two-story building.

Main Building

On the first floor, the dining room overlooks the pool. Beyond it is the living room, furnished with Danish and Guatemalan pieces and arranged around a fireplace. A tropical hardwood staircase connects the two floors.

Upstairs:

• The guest bedroom is on the right.
• The master bedroom is on the left.
• Directly ahead is access to the terrace, which offers impressive views of the church, Antigua’s rooftops, and the surrounding volcanoes.

Both bedrooms feature wooden interiors and large bookcases positioned opposite the king-size beds. In the master bedroom, a fireplace reflected in a mirror allows you to enjoy the fire from bed. Each bedroom has its own toilet and shower.

Garden and Pool

Downstairs, a door opens onto the garden at the rear of the house. The garden includes a lawn surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, along with several Acapulco chairs for relaxing.

On the western side of the main building is a 6.5-by-3.5-meter solar-heated pool.

Guest Access

The entire house is available for your use, except for a few closets where the hosts store personal belongings.
