Welcome to Bella Vista Private Resort

Bella Vista Private Resort in Costa Rica is designed for pickleball retreats, family vacations, weddings, and other events. Guests enjoy an all-inclusive resort experience with beautiful grounds, a pool, and a hot tub.

This listing is for the main house only. The property includes four houses, which may be rented together or separately:

• Main house: 5 bedrooms, sleeps up to 14 guests
• Guest house: 3 bedrooms, sleeps up to 8 guests
• Treehouse: sleeps up to 4 guests
• Tiny house: sleeps up to 2 guests

The Space

Main House

The Costa Rican mountaintop resort’s main house includes:

• Five resort-style bedrooms
• Three and a half bathrooms, plus an additional pool bathroom
• Fully stocked kitchen
• Infinity pool
• Outdoor dining area and barbecue
• Extensive private grounds
• Gated entrance
• Dedicated workspace
• High-speed internet

Guest House Addition

The three-bedroom guest house sleeps up to eight guests and may be added to your reservation for an additional fee. A smaller pool next to the guest house can be heated and used as a jacuzzi.

Treehouse Addition

The treehouse sleeps up to four guests and features beautiful views and its own small jacuzzi pool.

Tiny House Addition

The tiny house, also known as the honeymoon suite, sleeps two guests and offers beautiful views. It includes specially made swings for two adults, designed to evoke a sense of childhood romance.

At Bella Vista Private Resort, we aim to provide a five-star experience in every aspect of your stay. More than a vacation rental or hotel, the resort offers a Costa Rican luxury experience supported by attentive service from our staff.

The property’s size and grounds make it suitable for a variety of gatherings. We are happy to help coordinate your event.

Pickleball enthusiasts can enjoy four dedicated courts reserved exclusively for resort guests. There is no waiting or need to reserve court time—guests can simply stay and play.

Resort Staff

Our on-site resort manager, Patricia, offers warm Costa Rican hospitality and can help coordinate activities, excursions, and events. Upon request, she can also prepare authentic Costa Rican meals during your stay.

A groundskeeper helps maintain the property throughout the year and may pick fresh fruit or coconuts for guests.

Guest Access

Before arrival, you will receive the access code for the large entry gate. A separate smart code provides access to the house.

Free parking is available on the premises.

Airport Transportation

Airport pickup and drop-off can be arranged using our vehicles.

San José International Airport is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Bella Vista Private Resort.

Vehicle Rentals

The following vehicles are available as additions to your stay:

• 12-passenger van
• Seven-passenger Mitsubishi Outlander SUV

Other Private Resorts

We also operate two other large private resorts in Costa Rica:

• The Majestic Lodge Private Resort, located in the rainforest just outside La Fortuna
• Johnny's Beach Bungalow Private Resort, located near Playa Avellanas, just south of Tamarindo

Some guests arrange stays at two or all three properties to experience Costa Rica’s mountains, rainforest, and beaches.

Additional Service Charges

Airport Transportation

• San José Airport pickup: from $175 per trip for up to eight people
• San José Airport drop-off: an additional $175 per trip for up to eight people
• Liberia Airport pickup: $300 per vehicle
• Liberia Airport drop-off: an additional $300 per vehicle

Larger groups may require multiple vehicles or a larger vehicle, which will incur an additional charge. Coordinating separate pickups and drop-offs may be easier than arranging a second vehicle and driver for the entire group.

Vehicle Rental Fees

When rented for the entire stay:

• Van: $150 per day
• Mitsubishi Outlander: $100 per day, including insurance

When rented for only part of the stay:

• Van: $200 per day used
• Mitsubishi Outlander: $150 per day used

Vehicle rental periods begin on the second day of the stay and end the day before departure.

Events

When the entire property is reserved for your group:

• Events for up to 24 guests: $500
• Events for 25–50 guests: $800
• Events for 51–80 guests: $1,200

Additional Houses

• Guest house: $250 per night, plus a $90 cleaning fee
• Treehouse: $200 per night, plus a $50 cleaning fee
• Tiny house: $125 per night, plus a $35 cleaning fee

Meals

Meal prices are charged per person, per meal:

• Breakfast: $12
• Lunch and dinner: $16

Specialty meals, including vegan meals requiring specialty ingredients, may incur an additional charge.

Meals may be paid for in cash directly to the resort manager at the end of your stay. The manager will provide a breakdown of the meals provided.

Payment for other services and additions can be arranged before arrival and after the initial booking.

Other Things to Note

Bella Vista Private Resort occupies 2.5 acres and operates like a small resort. Staff members live on-site and maintain the property and grounds. Gardeners, groundskeepers, and pool cleaners may be present most days.

If you have not rented the entire property, please respect the privacy of other guests and do not approach occupied homes.

The gym and pickleball courts are shared amenities available to guests staying in any of the homes. The pool by the main house is reserved exclusively for guests renting the main house.

The main house sleeps up to 14 guests. The guest house, treehouse, and tiny house can be added after the initial booking by contacting us.

Property Rules

Bella Vista Private Resort is a luxury property, not a party house. Drug use and illegal activity are strictly prohibited.

• The property and vehicles have a zero-tolerance policy for drug use, including marijuana.
• Guests found using drugs may be required to leave without a refund.
• Drinking alcohol while operating our vehicles is prohibited.
• Unauthorized guests are not permitted on the property unless their presence has been scheduled in advance, such as for an approved wedding or other event.

Food Storage

Costa Rica is a tropical country, and insects may be attracted to exposed food. Please keep all food in sealed containers or in the refrigerator, and do not leave food on counters. Within a few hours, ants may be attracted to uncovered food.

Events and Group Gatherings

The 2.5-acre property can accommodate family retreats, corporate retreats, weddings, baby showers, yoga groups, pickleball retreats, and other events.

Additional charges apply for event setup and takedown. Tables and chairs are available for gatherings of up to 80 people.

We can also connect you with wedding planners, officiants, photographers, and other vendors. Vendor services beyond event setup and takedown are paid directly to the vendors.

When contacting us, please provide the type of event, expected number of guests, and services you would like to include so we can help coordinate the appropriate vendors.

Promotions and Construction

During September, October, and November, the pickleball courts may be undergoing renovations. During this period, the main house price is reduced by 50%.

The work will take place in the lower area of the property, so the main house and pool area should not be directly affected apart from daytime construction noise. This may be suitable for guests who plan to explore Costa Rica during the day while staying at the property.

The treehouse and tiny house may also be available during this period. The guest house will not be available to rent during the renovation.

Refund Policy

There are no refunds for days used or unused for any reason.

If there is a problem with your accommodations, please notify us immediately so we can do our best to resolve it. Some weather-related issues may not be fixable during your stay, but we will make every reasonable effort to address them and help make your visit as enjoyable as possible.
