We invite all travelers to experience our Tropical Garden Lodge located in Mal País. The lodge is conveniently situated just 1 kilometer from downtown Santa Teresa and only a 50-meter walk from the beach, featuring peaceful bays and tide pools. The property is surrounded by jungle plants, fruit trees, and abundant wildlife.

The Space
Each bungalow includes:
- Queen-size bed with bed sheets and towels
- Air conditioning and fan
- Fully equipped small kitchen
- Private bathroom with hot water shower
- Terrace with hammock
- Sitting area with sofa
- Outdoor cold water shower
Shared areas for all Pachamama Lodge guests:
- Outdoor chill-out space in the “Rancho” featuring sofas, chairs, dining tables, and a BBQ area near the entrance
- Large tropical garden filled with fruit trees, visited by birds and other jungle wildlife, perfect for leisurely strolls
Guest Access
The lodge is set within a 4,000-square-meter tropical garden. Guests have full access to all areas and can explore the natural surroundings at their leisure.
Relaxation spots include:
- Hammocks and chill-out zones with comfortable sofas
- A spacious “Rancho” ideal for breakfast, meals, reading, enjoying drinks, or socializing
For panoramic views, guests can climb the stairs to the Pachamama lookout, offering breathtaking sights of Mal País and the nearby beaches.

Please note that many places in Costa Rica do not accept card payments. It is advisable to carry some cash. In town, there are three ATMs available for withdrawals:

Mateo was a wonderful host, very helpful and kind. Pachamamas was a quiet place in month of May, right across from the Sea. Nice patio outside. The space has what you need and was clean. Bungalow 3 was tight in space , just something to know. Windows closed for A/C means no light/leafy views come in.

Pachamama is an incredible place to stay. We met amazing people and caught awesome waves basically every day. Franz, the owner, is incredibly kind and helpful. He’s been here forever and knows all the tips! They can arrange rides, ATVs, laundry, massages, haircuts, and more for you. Even help with food deliveries! Phillipa, his daughter, is also incredibly kind and attentive. You’ll love it here!
