We loved Casa Arenosa! Great location, clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if we go back to the area.

Fantastic stay for what we wanted to do - spearfishing. Right on the beach for fishing etc. Monkeys were great and the local racoons stole our eggs! haha

We had an incredible week at Casa Arenosa, the setting is simply stunning, you are in the jungle and you can hear the waves at your doorstep. I think the upstairs shower is literally the most beautiful in the world, you are looking across at the treetops, if you are lucky might see the monkeys swing by. This is the perfect location for surfing Backwash and Pan Dulce. But I highly recommend Cabo Matapalo surf guides for exploring other breaks as well. If you are a birder then you are in heaven. The kitchen was well stocked, and the house layout has plenty of spaces to relax. We are already planning to return.

We loved our stay at Casa Arenosa! Our crew of 6, comprised of 3 couples, had a lovely time. Being right on the beach, seeing so much wildlife, dipping in the pool, cooking amazing food in the well-stocked kitchen… It was an unforgettable experience! The casa is comfy, spacious, and Chiky the caretaker took great care of us. Sandy was always responsive and helpful in her messages as well. We will surely be back!

The place is absolutely beautiful. Even more so than the pictures. There have been some changes since the pictures were published. Very private location with an almost private beach. Very responsive groundskeeper, Chicky, full of knowledge and super helpful. We had housekeeping once during our stay which was very nice. Super clean and comfortable. You definitely need to rent a 4 x 4 SUV as the roads are very uneven and unmaintained. Better directions with more landmarks would be helpful since the original directions are a little bit outdated. Casa Arenosa does show up on maps but no directions found from Puerto Jimenez because the Malopalo unmaintained road is not marked. The whole house is open air, so make sure you are comfortable with no A/C. It was cooler with the fans provided inside the bed. You are in the jungle so expect a giant wolf spider crawling around, raccoons opening your refrigerator if not taped shut. Plunge pool was refreshing with fresh water, no chlorine.

It was a bit magical. We were actually in the rain forest. I know there were people nearby but with all the foliage it didn’t seem like it. Getting there was quite an adventure!! The roads are a bit hard to navigate but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I loved it being almost all outdoors. The plunge pool was soooo welcome. We used it a lot. The kitchen which is not enclosed was very comfortable with a great refrigerator which we bungee corded at night to keep the raccoons out. I absolutely loved being able to see all the animal life right in our backyard. They included Spider Monkeys, Black Howlers, Agouti, Tayra, Coati, Iguana, McCaw, Parrots, Toucan and vultures, etc. we live in very dry Southern California so we left there with a heavy heart except for the interest in being dry again. Chiki was really helpful with everything!!! Last but not least, the beach ,which was gorgeous, was (I counted them) 60 steps away on a cute little private path. Unbelievable place!!!!!

Casa Arenosa was absolutely magical. The wildlife was incredible. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. Waking up to the Macaws was amazing . The monkeys came through in the morning to eat the fruit right outside the house . We loved everything about this place and will definitely be back .
