The Space
This beautifully designed tiny container home is located just a 4-minute walk from Playa Grande, a popular surfing beach, and the Tamarindo Estuary. Situated in the peaceful and secure Palm Beach Estates community, the property benefits from 24/7 private security.
The living area overlooks a wild garden teeming with local wildlife, including howler monkeys, anteaters, and coatis. Inside, the home features:
- A fully equipped kitchen
- A bathroom with hot water
- A bedroom with air conditioning, a queen-sized bed, a closet, and a smart TV
Small dogs are welcome but must remain in the lounge area. Cats are not permitted.
Location
The apartment is nestled in a tranquil and safe neighborhood with private security. Playa Grande is renowned for excellent surfing, and this section of the beach is among the least crowded.
Within a short walking distance, you will find:
- Four restaurants, including Mar Azul and Grateful Hotel (both recommended)
- A small convenience store
- Two surf shops
This property serves as an ideal base for exploring Guanacaste.
Tamarindo is a 35-minute drive away, or you can walk to the beach’s end to catch a water taxi across the estuary for 1,000 colones per person until 5 pm.

Muy bonito el lugar, bastante tranquilo y privado. Patrick nos recibió de manera muy amable y respetuoso. El lugar queda super cerca de la playa, e incluso se realizan bastantes actividades. Gracias por todo, no gustó muchísimo el lugar.

Nous avons passé trois belles journées dans cet Airbnb. L’environnement est agréable, à seulement cinq minutes de la plage, entouré de nature, avec même des singes hurleurs et plusieurs oiseaux au rendez-vous ! Nous avons aussi apprécié les conseils de Patrick pour les environs et la suite de notre voyage. La description est fidèle : il y a quelques insectes, mais en gardant la nourriture au frigo (sec et humide), tout se passe très bien. Un séjour simple et réussi 🙂

Patrick's place is perfect if you are like me and going to a variety of places in the area. It's a great base to start, visit a variety of areas, and to figure out what you like. The space is exactly as described and Patrick is an extremely responsive and helpful host. Patrick even helped resolve an issue I had with a local vendor. I would definitely stay again.

J’ai passé un excellent séjour dans le logement de Patrick. Il a été très accueillant, et force de proposition pour des activités aux alentours. Le logement était agréable, propre, et confortable. Je n’avais cependant pas réalisé en réservant qu’il était dans une résidence de vacanciers un peu mouvementée. Il m’est arrivé d’entendre quelques bruits de véhicules le matin (et des travaux). Mais je n’ai passé que peu de temps au logement, dont la localisation était parfaite pour aller aux plages et aux villages alentours. Les environs sont absolument magnifiques.

Patrick was an incredible host. He was always attentive and consistently answered my questions in detail. The place was exactly as described: clean, relaxing, and very close to the beach. You truly feel like you’re sleeping in the jungle, with birds and nature all around. It’s incredibly peaceful, and it helped me a lot to slow down and gather my thoughts. The beach is wonderful, the water is nice, and the sunsets are absolutely amazing. There’s also a small kitchen where you can cook, which made the stay even more comfortable. Everything about this place was great. A special thank you to Patrick for making my stay so enjoyable: he was always helpful, present when needed, and at the same time very respectful of my space. I highly recommend this place and would happily stay here again.

Patrick’s place is all about the location. It’s a very short and easy walk to a beautiful beach in Las Baulas National Park. The unit is half of a container, so as shown in the photos, space is tight, but all the amenities are there and the outdoor lounge area makes all the difference. Thank you Patrick.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft, genau wie beschrieben. Sauber, ruhig und gut gelegen. Der Host war freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer erreichbar. Check-in und Check-out waren unkompliziert. Ich habe mich wohlgefühlt und würde jederzeit wiederkommen. Klare Empfehlung!
