Cabin "La Plantación" a Paradise close to Fortuna

We hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf in deze idyllische cabaña. We werden hartelijk ontvangen. Het is prachtig gelegen en voorzien van alles wat we nodig hadden. Ideaal om van hier te gaan wandelen rond Arenal. De rondlopende kippen en honden maakten het extra leuk voor de kinderen. Ook van het zwembad en de pool hebben we met plezier gebruik gemaakt.

The property is beautiful and easily gives that authentic feeling. Tons of wildlife on the property. Also a lot of things to do just on the property as well as having La Fortuna less than 10 minuses away.

The plantation is very private. You must have a 4 x 4 to get there. The main house sleeps quite a number of people. And there’s a whole outdoor kitchen past the pool that we found very functional and easy to use, including a barbecue, griddle cooktop, outdoor refrigerators, and many coffee making options. It was very well manicured and included a volleyball court and soccer field. The swimming g pool was a huge hit with our seven-year-old. It was quick to get to the main town for dining and excursions to white water rafting, zip lines, the volcano, hiking, etc. It is a very natural setting, so be prepared to hear, birds, roosters, and other animals early in the morning, or to be created by some local dogs who are very friendly on a farm setting. So bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. There are so many hidden nooks all around the property to relax, sit, read a book, play a card game, draw, write. Beautiful place, secure, and private location. We loved it!

Our family of 4 stayed here for 3 nights and felt like it was a very authentic Costa Rican experience. Beautiful grounds, very private, lots of fun animals, and plenty to do with the pool, pool table, soccer, volleyball, and exploring. The outdoor kitchens were great to use and the house has a rustic charm that would be hard to find elsewhere. The location is a short drive to La Fortuna but there is even a small market within walking distance of the house. Roberto also was a great host - extremely responsive and spent time showing us his pets (dogs), farm animals, and even sharing some eggs! Speaking of chickens, a word to the wise that the roosters crow in the night, which might not be ideal for light sleepers. All in all, we are so glad we booked a stay at la plantacion.

Amazing place for a group only a short distance away from La Fortuna. Our group of 8 loved the space! It was very unique and comfortable. The property is amazing, with a pool, outdoor kitchen, swings, balconies and open space for sports/recreation. We loved our stay and would highly recommend!

Lived in Roberto’s farm paradise and experienced authentic rustic CR living. Having the roosters wake us up early made the whole experience enjoyable and recommend highly for anyone. Thank you!

Increíble lugar, muy satisfechos todos

The perfect Costa Rican stay! This rustic farmhouse is humble but has everything you really need. We loved the outdoor kitchens, and our kids especially loved swimming in the pool and playing with the pool table. There is wildlife all around - roosters, cows, turkeys, dogs, lizards, iguanas, birds, frogs, etc. It might not be for everyone, but it's one of the things we loved the most! Although the house isn't open air, there is opportunity for small wildlife to get in as the bathrooms connected to the bedrooms are open the outside. We found a big frog chilling in our shower one morning and a couple bats flew into the downstairs bedroom one night. A short walk off the property and down the dirt road brought us a real treat - watching a mama sloth move around with her baby! This place is magical in a very humble and rustic way. We loved using it as a home base when exploring and adventuring in La Fortuna. Would stay again someday!

If I had to use one word for this property, it would be magical. This place is so much better than the pictures and it is worth every penny. Truly a magical paradise in Costa Rica.
