The Space
This deluxe apartment in Avalon Country Club, Santa Ana, offers an ideal setting for both work and vacation. Situated just 20 minutes from Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), it provides convenient access to Costa Rica’s main airport. The nearby Highway 1, only 1 kilometer from the complex, opens up numerous day trip opportunities in every direction, allowing you to explore the diverse landscapes and attractions of Costa Rica.
Located on the top floor, the unit features soaring ceilings and a spacious upper mezzanine that serves as a quiet office area. This mezzanine includes a monitor with HDMI connection and its own flat-screen TV. Additionally, there is a sleeper sofa upstairs for extra sleeping accommodations. Being an end unit, the balcony enjoys enhanced privacy, and the entire apartment remains peaceful and quiet.
Upon entering, you find a small hallway leading to a fully equipped galley kitchen. The kitchen comes with a complete set of pots, pans, dishes, and silverware, as well as a microwave, stove, oven, and stainless steel refrigerator. Behind sliding doors, there is a full-sized washer and dryer along with a utility sink.
Beyond the kitchen is the dining area and living room, furnished with two sofas, a coffee table, and a 42-inch flat-screen Smart TV. The balcony, though compact, offers a lake view and an excellent vantage point overlooking San José, volcanoes, and surrounding mountains. Tall palm trees just outside provide nesting spots for tropical birds, including flocks of green parrots.
The master bedroom is spacious and includes a large walk-in closet and a private bathroom with a sizable shower. The guest bedroom features a brand-new queen bed, built-in shelving, and hanging space. The closet also contains an ironing board, iron, and vacuum cleaner.
The apartment includes two private parking spaces located near the building’s main entrance.

David’s place is a gem everything you need and more. It’s very well priced and very easy to accesss. We have stayed in many places all around the world and are in love with the layout and the surrounding area. The pool and jacuzzi’s and restaurant are an icing on the cake. We felt safe and at ease. This apartment is located in a very nice neighborhood and has a fantastic view of the mountains and volcanoes. It is a little dated but still comfortable. It is also well equipped. Our experience was not the best because the internet failed most of the 15 days we stayed here, and having a good connection is essential to us. FYI, there were some Alexa devices in the apartment. We became aware of this after being there for about a week. We were in the dining room speaking and an Alexa replied in one of the bedrooms. It was a surprise, so we unplugged the devices.

David’s place was great and his host Marlon was super helpful. Avalon is the perfect place to stay in San Jose. Has a beautiful pool with an incredible view. The restaurant also serves great food as well. Would definitely stay here again.
