Beach Conditions
Most Caribbean islands and the southern coastal areas of the United States are experiencing an ocean phenomenon known as sargassum, a type of seaweed. The beaches throughout the Riviera Maya and Playa del Carmen are also affected by changing weather patterns and natural conditions.
The area is experiencing erosion, and efforts are being made to add more sand. Boats may be visible along the shore when they are not being used for tours.
Beach conditions can change from one day to the next and are beyond our control. Walking a short distance north or south may lead to more favorable conditions for enjoying the Caribbean Sea.

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful place. The listing was just as described, and very comfortable. The views were amazing, with a private hot tub and sitting area outside. Having an office with a concierge was very helpful, as they were always there to answer questions or give recommendations. As described, the beach was not for swimming but there were lounge chairs, and the restaurant below was right on the beach. Within very short walking distance were lots of restaurants and shops. It was great having three bedrooms, each with a separate bathroom that contained needed amenities. Would definitely go back, highly recommend!

A very nice condo with a very attentive and friendly staff. The property is very nice but also starting to show some age and has a few maintenance needs. The beds were fabulous and the blackout blinds amazing. The private Jacuzzi and the property pool were nice. Parking was very tight.

My daughter and I traveled alone to Playa del Carmen. We had a wonderful stay at Lythai’s condo. It was in a great and safe location. We would walk to Avenida Cinco every night for food and entertainment. Security was always outside the condo as we walked back to the place they would be able to see us coming down the street. It always felt safe. The condo was beautiful, clean, quiet. We would definitely come back to Luthai’s condo.

This place is located right in the middle of paradise! Warm water, beautiful views, great hot tub, beautiful interior and just a short walk to one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in the world. They even had bikes for us to ride around town during our stay. We will be back!

We had a fantastic stay at this Airbnb! Checkin folks were welcoming, kind and offered to help find a few popular places to visit. The location was absolutely perfect—tucked away in a quiet, peaceful area, so it felt like a true retreat. Yet, just a short walk away, there were plenty of amazing restaurants and bars to choose from, offering everything from casual bites to upscale dining. I loved that we could easily enjoy a relaxing, quiet evening in, but also head out and experience the lively nightlife whenever we wanted. It’s the best of both worlds—peace and convenience all in one spot. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy both relaxation and the vibrancy of the city! We certainly plan to book this place again. 5 star for sure!

Wonderful location on Recondo beach. Condo is spacious and beautiful with two primary suites, on the corner with a beach and mooring view. The condo hotel itself has a very small strip of beach, that they’ve done a good job offering chairs and a sitting area to enjoy. Our host and Taj condo/hotel staff are very accommodating and attentive. It is walking distance to the nearby ferry, beach resorts, and 5th Avenue amenities. This condo also partially overlooks the pool and restaurant. We would definitely come back!

Very nice apartment and helpful staff. Lots of sea grass so didn't get to take advantage of the beach as much as desirable but this was informed in the listing. Fantastic nice area around the apartment and pool. Had a little boy of 2 years who got the bathroom a lot and had a great cot.
