Yelba, the caretaker, has an apartment at Casa Calala and only goes there to sleep at night. If you prefer that she not stay on the property, please let us know so we can discuss the arrangements.

Internet Access
The house currently does not have Wi-Fi. If you need internet access, we recommend purchasing a local SIM card with mobile data from Claro or Movistar.

Poneloya is a quiet fishing village with a relaxed atmosphere. The house is just steps from the beach and offers beautiful sunset views.
Local convenience stores, known as ventas, sell food, drinks, and basic supplies. Public buses run daily between Poneloya and León for grocery shopping or city trips.
Nearby Las Peñitas Beach is popular for surfing and has several excellent restaurants. This home is well suited to guests who want to disconnect and enjoy nature.

We had a great stay at this beachfront house in Poneloya. The location is fantastic — right on the beach with wonderful ocean vibes and beautiful views. The area feels very authentic, with lots of locals and very few tourists, which made the experience feel special and relaxed. The house itself is comfortable and offered good value for what we paid. It’s a simple, laid-back place that fits the beach setting well. Having staff on-site was helpful and reassuring, and overall everything we needed for an enjoyable stay was there. If you’re looking for a quiet, local beach experience rather than a polished resort environment, this is a great choice. We really enjoyed our time here and would happily recommend it to others.
