This spacious 50 m² suite offers views of an active volcano and Lake Nicaragua. It features in-room WiFi, an en suite bathroom with a solar-heated hot shower, and a covered private porch equipped with a dining area and hammock. The suite connects internally to a well-equipped shared kitchen.
Designed to provide both comfort and privacy, Ananda offers a highly sustainable and memorable experience on the edge of the jungle. Spectacular views surround the property, and hikes up Maderas Volcano start directly from here.

Sustainability Features
Ananda is committed to sustainability with:
100% solar energy.
Recycling of gray water.
Bio-digesters for black water processing.
Use of ambient LED lighting throughout.
Solar-heated hot water.
Organic farming on the 5-acre property, growing bananas, plantains, ginger, turmeric, sweet potatoes, lemons, and moringa.
Location and Access
The property is situated close to the village center of Balgue but remains peaceful and private. Within a 10-minute walk, guests can find excellent restaurants, some offering delivery.
The last 650 meters to the guest house is a bumpy dirt road (the same road leading to Totoco Eco-lodge). High-clearance vehicles such as SUVs and off-road motorbikes are highly recommended. During the rainy season, this road may be impassable for standard sedans or scooters. There is no street lighting on this stretch, so bringing a flashlight is advised.
Water Quality
The water used for drinking and bathing comes directly from Maderas volcano. This natural volcanic spring water is mineral-rich and considered exceptionally healthy. Filtered spring water is provided free of charge to guests.
Guest Access
Two guest rooms share the well-equipped kitchen.
Communal dining area.
Gardens for relaxation.
Additional Information
The property runs entirely on solar power. During the dry season (December to April), energy consumption does not need to be rationed. In the rainy season (May to November), guests are encouraged to conserve energy by turning off unnecessary lights and fans. Occasionally, a generator is used to recharge batteries.
The resident dogs, Alfie and Osa, along with the cat Ninja, are part of the family. While they bark at strangers, they do not bite and gradually become accustomed to new guests.
If you appreciate nature and natural surroundings, Ometepe is an ideal destination. The island boasts diverse flora and fauna, waterfalls, black and white sand beaches, scenic hikes, ancient petroglyphs, wetlands, and a natural volcanic swimming pool.
However, if you have a strong aversion to spiders, insects, or other small creatures, this may not be the best fit. While the accommodations are comfortable, the island’s biosphere status means it hosts a wide variety of insects and wildlife.
