This villa is the only luxury rental in the area with an advanced whole-house backup power system that automatically activates during outages, keeping lights, internet, air conditioning, and kitchen appliances running without interruption. Known locally as “La Veranda” or "El Capitan," the three-bedroom home consists of three separate wings, each an independent structure connected by charming covered wooden walkways.

The Setting

Set on 5 acres of lush jungle just 200 meters from the beach, the property features a gated entrance leading to a brick driveway that arrives at the main house. Guests are often captivated by the natural beauty, ocean and jungle views, and frequent wildlife sightings including monkeys, sloths, toucans, coatimundis, and iguanas.

The house’s design blends seamlessly with the environment, creating an open, airy atmosphere while providing privacy for all guests.

Recommended Service

Organic fruits, vegetables, and other groceries can be delivered to the front gate by a trusted local company. Orders must be placed by 6 pm on Tuesday for Thursday delivery.

The Central Wing

The central wing features an open-plan living room, dining room, and kitchen with vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors. Panoramic ocean and jungle views fill the space through large glass sliding doors that open onto an elevated covered deck with outdoor couches overlooking the saltwater pool and sun deck below.

The Main Bedroom Wing

Located to the left of the central wing, this wing contains Bedroom #1, the largest of the three at approximately 400 square feet. It boasts breathtaking panoramic views, a king-size bed, a large walk-in closet, a desk, lounge chairs, and a dining table with seating for four—ideal for a private breakfast.

This bedroom includes both air conditioning and ceiling fans, with two glass walls that slide open. It overlooks the pool, sun deck, and garden below.

The spacious en suite bathroom features a shower with a full-length sliding window that opens fully, allowing you to enjoy showering immersed in nature.

Bedroom #2 and #3 Wing

The third structure, positioned to the right of the central wing, contains two roomy bedrooms, each with its own en suite full bathroom. Both open onto a wide covered deck furnished with an outdoor living room, dining area, and hammock.

• Bedroom #2: Queen-size bed, en suite bathroom, café-style table with seating for two, dresser, and bookshelves stocked with an eclectic collection including must-reads about Costa Rica
• Bedroom #3: King-size bed, en suite bathroom, desk, dresser, comfortable reading chair, ceiling fans, and air conditioning

The Grounds

Nestled in lush jungle, the property is home to diverse wildlife including howler, capuchin, and squirrel monkeys, toucans, sloths, scarlet macaws, iguanas, anteaters, kinkajous, and more. The grounds feature various tropical fruit trees such as mango, avocado, banana, pineapple, papaya, coconut, and lime, alongside many beautiful flowering plants.

Guest House

Available upon request, the guest house is a completely separate two-bedroom duplex located near the front gate and surrounded by tropical gardens. Though not visible from the main house, it is just a two-minute walk away, making it convenient for groups seeking extra space or privacy.

The guest house includes a full bathroom, living room, full kitchen, covered porch, and laundry room with washer and dryer.

If available, the guest house can be rented alongside the main house for an additional $250–350 per night.

Location

From La Veranda, it is only a 200-meter walk to the beach, where miles of unspoiled shoreline await exploration. The charming village of Pavones is a 5-minute drive away, offering restaurants, grocery stores, surf shops, gift shops, and fresh seafood sold directly by local fishermen.

Guest Access

Guests have full access to the entire three-bedroom house. The beach is a 5-minute walk away, and the village of Pavones is reachable by a 5-minute drive or a 15-20 minute walk. The village provides a variety of amenities including restaurants, surf shops, gift shops, grocery stores, and fresh seafood markets.
