The Jungle Cabana is a screened, open-air cabaña with a hammock and private hot-water bathroom, sleeping up to four guests. Explore rainforest trails, bike, or swim in Belmopan’s on-site creek.
The Space
Nestled in pristine rainforest, each of the five jungle cabanas is accessed by boardwalk and designed to provide a comfortable jungle experience.
Jaguar Creek features intentional open architecture, rough wood, thatched roofs, and elevated walkways, allowing the property to exist in harmony with the surrounding rainforest. The property spans 700 acres of pristine rainforest. An additional 1,200 acres across the highway is protected through a conservation trust to remain wild and undeveloped.
Each jungle cabana accommodates up to four guests and includes:
- Complimentary steeped coffee
- Electric kettle
- Safe-deposit box
- Water dispenser
- Open architectural design for excellent ventilation
- Full screening for added comfort and protection
- In-room hammock
- Private bathroom with hand soap, shampoo, body wash, towels, and hot water
- Suitable for couples, families, and honeymooners
- Complimentary on-site activities, including hiking, bicycling, and swimming in the on-site creek
- Seasonal tubing, depending on water levels
- Complimentary stays for children aged five and under
As part of our commitment to conservation, the cabanas do not have air conditioning. Ceiling fans and floor fans are provided.
Guest Access
Guests are welcome to explore the entire 700-acre rainforest property. However, a staff guide is required when venturing off established trails.
Other Things to Note
Although all living and common areas are screened, mosquitoes may be a nuisance at certain times of the year, so please plan accordingly. Because the property is located in close proximity to the rainforest, guests should also remain aware of insects, snakes, and other rainforest wildlife.
Howler monkeys may sound intimidating when they howl, but they are harmless and provide an enjoyable part of the Jaguar Creek experience.
Internet connectivity is limited because the property is deep in the rainforest. Internet access is provided by satellite and may be unreliable, particularly during rain showers. Limited Wi-Fi is available for guests at the office for basic email use. Please do not stream content or upload or download large files, as the satellite provider imposes a daily data allowance.

It was a good place. A little older than we expected but still safe and very nice. The staff were great! And we appreciated having a refrigerator and a water dispenser in the room.

Venue is beautiful and well maintained. The amenities are great and we enjoyed borrowing the bikes to visit the blue hole. Our only wish was that the food quality/quality be better for the price.

We felt very comfortable in Jaguar Creek and would have liked to have stayed longer. It is (except for the mosquitoes in the rainy season) a true paradise.

STAY HERE! We can't say enough wonderful things about Jaguar Creek. The food, the staff, the cabanas, the trails, the tubing, the surroundings were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We only wished we could have stayed longer! Highly recommend! My husband and I can't wait to be back! We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary and the staff went above & beyond to make us feel special. :)

Jaguar Creek was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff proved outstanding service, making us feel right at home. The food was fresh and delicious. We visited during the rainy season and it exceeded our expectations! The weather was lovely and we enjoyed having the resort completely to ourselves. It was a unique experience to relax and read while listening to the pouring rain outside. We had the most restful sleep we’ve had in years, waking up to breathtaking views of the stunning property in the middle of the jungle. I wholeheartedly give Jaguar Creek a 5 out of 5 and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. (It’s only a 2.5 hr flight from ATL and 1.5 hr drive). Just a note: if you require air conditioning, this may not be the place for you but don’t let that deter you from enjoying this beautiful retreat!

Jaguar Creek is an absolute gem! For those who enjoy nature and want to be immersed, this is the perfect place! Don’t fear that there isn’t air conditioning, during the day you’ll want to be out doing things and at night it cools off and is great for sleeping. We ate most meals at the restaurant and so appreciated the staff and excellent care and food. This place feels so personal! We took two tours and both were fantastic in their own way. Details and planning were spot on and we loved every minute! We did do the blue hole but tubing in the creek there was almost even more enjoyable!

We absolutely loved our stay here and would return in a heartbeat! The staff is so kind and helpful, the surroundings are incredible and sounds and sights of the jungle all around. There is so much to enjoy right on the property and is very comfortable. It is warm but the breezes, fans, and dips in the creek make it very doable. We and our children loved every minute of our stay! Thank you to all who were so hospitable and kind. 🧡
