We so enjoyed our time at Villas del Rey, it was very good for our situation with hosting a wedding, reception and housing guests at the same time!! John, Olivier and others were very helpful...as I'm sure you know, the clubhouse kitchen could be updated but all the basics were there and we so appreciate you letting us use them, including serving dishes, glassware and silverware and cookware!....unforgettable not only because it was a family wedding, but the properties and acreage were great!! we loved being able to use the local flowers for our wedding decor! amazingly beautiful and diverse! soooo Costa Rican!! thank you!!

Well when I arrived at the place I could see that this house is nothing luxurious as they present it here. The only thing I can save is the attention of the on-site administrator, Mr. John or Johnnie, super attentive and kind. Otherwise the house is quite neglected, for an additional price they rent you the “Club House” which is a disgust! The kitchen is a gray, dirty and neglected kitchen. The pool water was murky and dirty king. The houses smell AWFUL, the beds full of dust, the armchairs broken, the vegetation dead, the place super neglected a complete disaster! We left there and for half the price we paid here we got two LUXURY apartments in Jaco. The advertising on this site is misleading, we got out of there running away!! The place has potential but they need to put love and invest it. It doesn't come close to the reality of what's seen on the page. Advertising is misleading. THIS HOUSE IS NOT LUXURIOUS

We just got back from a company retreat (we are 10 people) and this location / accommodation and all the the things you can arrange on the side was perfect. There was nothing Olivier and his team couldn't do for us to make the stay as exceptional as possible - even driving us into town to get a USB keyboard when one of our laptops misted up with the humidity, or booking a photographer for us at the last minute. We essentially went for the 'full service' which mean we had a wonderful cook, Blanca cook us 3 meals a day - lots of traditional Costa Rican food, a bit different every day, but always with delicious rice and beans. She served us homemade juices from all the local fruits, and introduced us to some strange and wonderful fruits and seeds to snack on. There is a professional, friendly, and helpful team working in the house to support us, John, Anabelle and Marina - all very welcoming. The villas are really big, well equipped - mostly with 1 double 1 twin beds, each with their own en suites (which meant it was easy and comfortable for colleagues to share) but I could see the whole set up would suit several families wanting to holiday together. There's aircon when you need it, but actually we got used to the humidity pretty quickly, and there's a lovely pool to cool down in. Olivier was extremely helpful in arranging 1st class trips for us (we opted for the Tortuga Island, snorkelling and ziplining / ATV) with tour managers who put on a professional, well organised and safe activities for us. They turned up on time, their drivers were friendly and didn't drive too fast, we really felt taken care of. Internet was perfectly good most of the time for us to work together, there's even a massive souvenir shop right opposite the estate so you don't have to go far to pick up local bits and bobs. But more importantly - we absolutely loved Costa Rica. There are stunning landscapes, beaches, mountains and valleys - the locals are friendly and open, it's truly a paradise and we all vowed we would be back under our own steam to explore more of the country. Pura Vida!

Such an amazing experience. Very relaxing. My entire family loved the property. Best sleep most of us have had in months. And we all fell in love with Annabelle the manager and Blanca our chef. Sweetest people on earth. Great service and hospitality from both ladies. We rented the entire property for 15 people and enjoyed every inch of it. Each house was so authentic, with all needed items available. Each house had a TV but to be honest, we barely needed it. A lot of nature surrounding each house which was perfect. A lot of mango and cashew trees and we ate enough of them. If you like nature and good morning hikes, this is the place. We had a memorable moment with the monkeys which made the trip worth it. Only one downside for me, was the ADT alarm went off while i was sleeping but Anna took care of it immediately. Maybe one of the monkey's were trying to break in :-) We all agreed that we would most likely book this place again for another large group.

We rented out the whole property for a small retreat of 16 international staff. It was perfect. The grounds and complex was beautiful and very tropical feeling. The villas (we had 6) were big enough for us to have a few small gatherings and had full sized kitchens. And the clubhouse was lovely with a big veranda looking over the pool (and an iguana that visited it us regularly but only from a distance). Beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean. Because this was a group retreat we asked for a few special things - like adding in 3 meals every day. We were unsure what to expect but this was better than we could have imagined. Olivier hired to local ladies and they did an excellent job. We had great food and good variety of it. Also the Tortuga island tour and zip lining were both hits with our staff. I was also very pleased with the promptness of Olivier's responses. I rarely waited even a few hours before he got back to me about any question I had. Overall we were very pleased with this location for our purposes.

While the property is in Tarcoles, it is really beautiful and would return with pleasure. The attention was very good and the house comfortable and nice.

The property is outstanding. We had a large group and it was perfect for us. The property is like a botanical garden, with beautiful pathways and monkeys, ground iguanas and other critters. We visited a nearby national park and paid $10 per person. The park was beautiful but we all agreed that there wasn't anything in the park that we didn't have on the property. We loved the pool too. It was a short trip to the beach and into the town of Jaco. We loved this place.
