Casa Mexicana is located in the best block in town, only 50 feet away from the promenade. With its vibrant, elegant, spacious architecture, it is the perfect space to show off a traditional Mexican style. We meticulously decorated the space with the colorful talaverapottery, intense colors, and beautiful floral murals. You’ll love sitting in the sweet shade of the rooftop terrace and living room balcony, watching the sun set over the Sea of Cortez.
The space Less than 50 feet away from the Malecón promenade, Casa Mexicana is located in the most upscale block in town. Quite literally, your backyard is the promenade.
As the name implies, Casa Mexicana is full of Mexican art and imagery, such as its colorful bougainvillea flower mural as you enter the house, and different Mexican-style murals in each of the rooms. The tasteful detail of the facade is so pretty that people often stop by to take selfies with Casa Mexicana in the background.
The house has 3 floors, with the patio, large pool, and charcoal grill on the ground floor, not to mention a small but very cute guestroom located between the garage and the backyard. The second floor is composed of the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Our guests really enjoy the living room with its small, very accessible terrace and view of the sea. The third floor has two beautiful rooms (and don’t forget to check out the view from the master bedroom). You can take the stairs up to the spacious shaded terrace on the roof— from which you’ll see the sun disappearing under the Sea of Cortez in the tranquil, but spectacular La Paz sunsets.
If you love to cook, this is the house for you: the fully-equipped kitchen is a gorgeous space with its hand-painted azulejo (Moorish tile) décor, and opens seamlessly into the dining and livings rooms, making entertaining a snap. Or if you prefer to feel the ocean breeze, fire up the poolside grill and dine on the fully furnished patio equipped with outdoor dinnerware.
And after a day of exploring, what better way to relax than to swim in Casa Mexicana’s spacious pool, surrounded by vegetation in your own personal oasis?
Guest access Guests have access to all areas of the house, including the patio with pool and gas grill, rooftop terrace, bedrooms, and kitchen, living room, and dining room, and laundry room with a washer and drier. There are air conditioning units in every room of the house.
We take pride in using non-toxic cleaning supplies, providing a healthier and more natural alternative, while being just as effective to synthetic-based conventional cleaners.
We are making efforts towards water conservation in La Paz. We are adopting water-efficient technologies, growing mostly native vegetation in our decorative gardens, promoting responsible water usage, and building urban rainwater capture basins.
Finally, we provide canvas grocery bags you can use in your trips to the local stores, farmer’s and fish markets.
Other things to note It’s worth reiterating that Casa Mexicana has a very cute ground floor bedroom with its own bathroom, excellent for older family members traveling with you. On weekends, there tends to be a lot of activity in the neighborhood at night, so you can hear music and conversations coming from the malecon, the street, and the Oxxo across the street.
Keep an eye out for the huge (but harmless) iguanas owned by our next door neighbor, which you can sometimes see sunning themselves on the big wall behind the pool.

Our experience at this property was extremely disappointing. The house is in urgent need of maintenance, deep cleaning, and updating. The air conditioners are old and do not cool properly, making the house unbearably hot. The ceiling fans were also not working correctly—they only spun slowly, and the speed settings did not function. In addition, the fans were covered with months of dust. The refrigerator had standing water inside and a very unpleasant odor. One of the bedrooms smelled like sewage, and the garage and stairways were dirty upon our arrival. The property has three floors, and having to go up and down the stairs in the extreme heat made the stay even more uncomfortable because the air conditioning was not working. The most frustrating part was the host’s response. We reported the problems immediately after check-in, but it took about four hours to receive a response. Throughout the entire situation, the host was rude, seemed irritated, and never provided a real solution

The place was in the perfect area. The beachfront view was spectacular. Walking distance to the Malecón and area restaurants with lots to do. The location is 5 stars for sure. The area felt safe. The house is beautiful. It has a car port to park your vehicle, which is a big plus. The pool is clean and warm. The rooftop was amazing and by far my favorite place with gorgeous view of the Sea of Cortez. The house has four floors. The first floor has a suite near the carport and where the pool is located. The can only sleep 6 comfortably with two additional rooms on the third floor. The only thing I would recommend is a better couches. The couches are very small and outdated. Only sits 3 people and there’s an ottoman for additional sitting which is uncomfortable to sit. The kitchen appliances are outdated. A newer coffee pot would be nice. We had to grab coffee at the oxox across the street. It would be nice to have an umbrella and beach chairs and ice chest for guest to use for the beach.

Our stay in La Paz was fantastic. The home is in an excellent location just steps from the Malecón, making it easy to walk to restaurants, coffee shops, and the waterfront whenever we wanted. The area felt lively but still comfortable and safe. One of the highlights was the rooftop with beautiful views—perfect for sunsets or relaxing in the evening. The heated pool was also a great touch and made the space feel like a private retreat after spending the day exploring the beaches around La Paz. The house itself was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Check-in was smooth and communication with the host was easy. Overall, this is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the Malecón while still enjoying privacy, great views, and a relaxing pool. We would definitely stay here again when visiting La Paz.
