The space Fully air-conditioned and thoughtfully designed across three levels, Villa Tranquila offers 3,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space with a balance of privacy and shared gathering areas. Handcrafted local wood, natural stucco finishes, and tropical accents create a relaxed atmosphere that feels both refined and comfortable. Large windows throughout the home bring in natural light and connect the interiors with the surrounding greenery and gardens.
The villa is designed to feel like your own private retreat. Just beyond the front door, guests can enjoy a freshwater pool, lounge seating, sun chairs, pool toys, and a gas grill — everything needed for easy days spent at home. For families traveling with young children, safety gates can be installed for the pool access doors and stairs upon request.
Each of the villa’s three bedrooms is designed for comfort and a restful night’s sleep, with air conditioning, soft linens, quality pillows, and en-suite bathrooms stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and soap.
Bedroom #1 (second floor) includes a queen bed, large smart TV, armchair with ottoman, and private outdoor terrace.
Bedroom #2 (second floor) features two twin beds, a built-in dresser with vanity, plus children’s books and toys.
Bedroom #3 (third floor) offers a queen bed and a separate office/study area with a desk and double sofa bed suitable for children.
The main living space features an open-plan layout with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and comfortable lounge. Guests can enjoy a 65” TV with international channels, Netflix, HBO Max, and Disney+, along with a convenient half bathroom on the first floor.
The villa is equipped with high-speed 100Mb WiFi and three separate routers — one on each level — as well as Sonos speakers for both the indoor living space and pool area.
Complimentary concierge service is included with every stay. We’re happy to assist with airport transportation, golf cart rentals, excursions, restaurant recommendations, private chefs, and other local experiences.
Villa Tranquila is also our family home, not just a vacation rental. Before each stay, we clear personal belongings from closets, bathrooms, and kitchen spaces while keeping thoughtful touches that make traveling with family easier, including books, toys, board games, cooking basics, and children’s items. A crib and high chair are also available upon request.

The location is genuinely special. Playa Langosta right across the street, quiet and uncrowded, while Tamarindo’s restaurants and nightlife are a short drive away or even walk. The house is charming with real character, and could easily be a premium experience. The gap between potential and reality is noticeable though. The house is lived in by the owners and it shows. Cluttered, surfaces not properly cleaned, greasy kitchen, persistent sewage odor in the second floor bathroom from day one, and a clogged shower drain that was never resolved despite reporting it. AC units are old and noisy. A curtain rod fell off the wall when simply opened. Maria Paula is responsive on messaging but does not resolve much at distance. Plus relies exclusively on what her maid unilaterally says Listing photos don’t reflect current condition. The property has real potential but needs a serious deep clean and maintenance attention that matches its price point. Other reviews say the same. We echo them

Amazing villa and perfect for families. Great location close to playa langosta and short walk to the quiet side of playa Tamarindo. The home was very clean, well equipped, and comfortable. The Private Pool was the perfect size for our family. (with our children being 11, 7, 5 and 3 years old) Pool had lots of kids toys and was a great way to cool down. BBQ offered a quick way to cook up some food in between activities and during down time. Overall we had an incredible time and created great memories here. We visit Costa Rica annually and will definitely see if Marias Villa is available next year. Highly recommend this place.

This villa was absolutely stunning and truly the highlight of our trip. Having a beautiful beach right next door at Playa Langosta was such a bonus, and we spent so much time enjoying the pool as well. The villa is about a 20-minute walk into Tamarindo for dinner and drinks, which we found really convenient. We also loved that the property is gated and felt very safe throughout our stay. Overall, a 10/10 experience and we would highly recommend staying here.

We had a great time staying here in Playa Langosta. Maria Paula was a great host and easy to communicate with, and she helped us with anything we needed during our stay. The house was exactly as described—comfortable, clean, and perfect for our stay. We would definitely recommend this place and would be happy to stay again.

The place has a very unique and beautiful look to it. The gated area getting to the house is also very beautiful and quite secure. The house itself seems to be quite old now and many things inside(floors, appliances, sinks, etc) are weathered and a little dirty. The photos on the listing don’t match the home because they were taken when the place was built at the beginning. Besides that the home is very comfortable and relaxing to be in. There are 4 heat pumps in the house allowing guests to cool down the rooms(otherwise it’s humid and hot). The pool in the backyard was the highlight for our group. Coming back to the Airbnb after a day at the beach and in the sun, and then getting into the wonderfully cooled pool in our backyard was quite the relief. The showers and bathrooms worked well with hot water but were weathered. Maria Paula is a great host and responds very quickly and accommodated our group well whenever we needed something. Overall I’d rate the place a 4/5 stars.

We had a great stay at Villa Tranquila. The home looked exactly like the pictures and was a comfortable place. We loved having our own pool. The house is right across the street from the beach, just walk across the road and down a very short path. Each room had their own AC unit and some worked better than others, but all worked well enough. We didn't cook much, but the kitchen seemed well equipped. The washer and dryer worked. The complex was gated and secure. Paula is a fantastic host and she was very responsive to us both before we arrived and during our stay. She provided many recommendations for activities, etc. The wifi was out when we arrived and she was helpful in trying to resolve it. It turned out to be a problem with the service provider, so we didn't have wifi for 3 days, which I think is unusual for this house. If you rent golf carts during your stay, MAKE SURE THEY ARE GAS. We ended up with electric and it was nearly impossible to charge them at the house.
