Other Things to Note
Centro, Oaxaca, is vibrant and full of life. During the week before Christmas, La Soledad’s fair brings local folklore to the area, and the street in front of the house becomes pedestrian-only. The neighborhood has a unique daytime bustle that settles down at night.
In keeping with the period’s colonial architecture, two bedrooms have small skylights that brighten the rooms. Some guests prefer to wear a sleep mask to block the morning light. If you are sensitive to light, please bring one or choose the small bedroom, which offers complete blackout conditions.

We loved this house! Photos give a good sense of the charm inside this house. It felt like a secret gem—an ample one. Three social spaces, two dining spaces, and two of the three bedrooms were huge. Host was responsive and communicative. 👍

Loved this place so much and Alberto, was so kind in meeting us on check in and being so helpful throughout our stay from providing local recommendations, finding us a babysitter and also organising a doctor to do a house visit when I became very ill. He was such a helpful host and really made our stay in Oaxaca special. The home is so beautiful with its colonial features and many thoughtful and gorgeous interiors. Giant bedrooms and comfortable beds, the kitchen was fully equipped with lots of utensils and cookware. The pool was great to cool down in the afternoon. Also a great location in being walkable to most spots in Centro. The only thing is there were lots of mosquitos as half the home is outdoors, however they provided us with repellent and did warn us on check in. We just had to keep bedroom and bathroom doors closed at all times to avoid them coming inside. If I ever come back, I would absolutely stay here again. My family loved it so much. Thank you Alberto!

This home was the highlight of our trip to Oaxaca! From the beautiful design and relaxing garden, to the pool that the kids loved, every detail was thoughtfully curated and the location was perfect for walking. The communication was excellent and almost like having a personalized concierge service. A huge thank you to Gerardo and Edwin for organizing everything with incredible care. It was my favorite Airbnb stay ever and I didn't want to leave.

My husband and I drove down from Mexico City and spent several days here. The house was exactly as pictured, and the location was very convenient to the historic center, a super market, and several markets. It is on a main busy road, but from the back bedroom we couldn't hear any of the the traffic or noise. And while we didn't have a microwave to heat up leftovers, the kitchen was well equipped so that we could use other ways to reheat food. For those with some mobility challenges, the place has a few small steps up into the house and then some of the rooms have one small step into/out of the rooms.

The house is gorgeous, beautifully furnished with lovely pieces and superb linens. The house was also spotless. It’s an easy walk to so many things. We wanted to love our stay. Unfortunately the hosts were not communicative (not timely with us and seemingly not with each other), which we wouldn’t have minded but for issues with the pool and a lack of follow-up about those issues despite multiple requests and a promised response. I hope this was an anomaly with the hosts as they were otherwise very nice, and the place is beautiful.
