A designer retreat that is great for families and pets. Our stay at Casa Gardenia was memorable. It is a “modern retreat” in San Simón el Alto that balances luxury with the serenity of the countryside. We traveled with two children and four dogs, and the place was perfect. The garden is huge and very well maintained. The vegetation provides complete privacy both inside the house and in the outdoor hot tub, allowing you to enjoy the surroundings in peace. House Highlights: - Nordic design: Architecture created with a lot of love and attention to detail. - Sustainability: Built using local materials, rainwater harvesting, and energy-efficient equipment. - Relaxation: The Jacuzzi area is quite a spectacle. It’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a state-of-the-art design worthy of a magazine. A perfect destination for families!

The house is very nice, it has a good layout and natural light, Yocelin and Hugo are great hosts, they treated us very well and were always attentive to every detail.

Amazing the house, we were 8 friends and 1 puppy and we felt at home. The house is amazing decorated, it's a bit tricky to get to but Yocelin's instructions were super clear and there was no loss. We loved the spaces and the vibe of the house

I love the area and Yocelin's house is very beautiful. This is super close to the San Simón Bakery. You can walk to the water eye and waterfalls, it's well worth it. We don't literally take the car every day we stay. The house is impeccable with everything you need, the Jacuzzi at a good temperature. Lizbeth's attention is very good, I help us cook and with cleaning. I highly recommend it.

Very nice house with incredible outdoor spaces as well as inside. Lots of greenery and large garden with amenities for the kids. I'll be back.

We had a great stay in this gorgeous property. It’s so nice being close to the restaurant and the paddle ball court, and we had nice walks in the surrounding area. It is so wonderful to be able to totally open up the house to the backyard. A couple of tips to those who rent this wonderful home: they are concerned about keeping their furniture clean, and since I have small kids who can’t always be depended on to have clean hands, I brought a few bedsheets from home to cover up the couch. There is also some construction happening on the road to the house, and you currently (November 2023) have to take a detour up a steep dirt road. Hopefully it will be done soon, but I would rent a car with decent clearance. That said, the road wouldn’t stop us from coming back, it’s a gorgeous property and the owners and very responsive and kind.

Yocelin's house, location, and service are amazing.

Yocelin’s place is beautiful and perfect for a weekend getaway in Valle de Bravo. The house is lovely and has a great architectural design. Yocelin is one of the most responsive hosts I have ever met; even though the road to get there was being fixed and was a little of a hustle to get there, staying there was so worth it. Very clean, smelled pristine and very well organized. Highly recommend!

After spending 5 weeks in Mexico City my partner and I were looking for a quiet getaway close to the city in solitude and Casa Gardenia was the perfect place. We had our small dog with us and there was so much room outside for him to run around safely all day. San Simon bakery makes the best steaks and are so kind and hospitable. House was very clean and similar to photos. If you’re looking for a oasis this is the place. I would definitely rebook.

Excellent place

Yocelin's house is spectacular. Everything is perfectly decorated, clean, well kept and tasteful. The garden is huge and beautiful. The house is super close (walking) to the San Simón bakery where there is coffee, bread, breakfasts and delicious pizzas. My husband, my dog and I had an amazing time and we are already planning when to return.

We were delighted with the cabin. It is extremely cozy, and the directions for getting there are accurate. We never got lost. Yocelin and Hugo were very attentive when I needed something. Liz, the cleaning girl, helps a lot and cooks delicious food. I recommend her if you want to go to rest and just do nothing. Another very good point is that they allow pets in this beautiful cabin. Obviously, you have to be responsible for them and not let them get on the furniture, etc. I 100% recommend staying here if you want to spend a few quiet days with your family and recharge your batteries surrounded by the forest.

Great place to spend a few days in nature with friends and dogs away from the city. The whole house is super clean and super nice. Yocelin and Hugo are always very attentive. 100% recommended.

Amazing host! Great place. I have stayed in different places in Valle de Bravo, and this one beats all. Jocelin makes your stay wonderful, and makes sure you have a wonderful time. The place it’s really clean and wonderfully located. Waterfalls near by, a nice cosy restaurant just steps from the cabin. I went with my wife and our 8 month old son, and we enjoyed it a lot. Jocelin even has books and games for the little ones. Definitly going back soon.

The house is beautiful, I loved its architecture and its large garden. The perfect place to have a few days of retreat in touch with nature. Only if it is super important to get supplies because there is nothing nearby to buy food just a restaurant/bakery. Yocelin and Hugo were super friendly and helpful at all times.

Incredible place. We went as a family and loved the house and everything around it. We have a lot of very nice details, all super comfortable to rest and spend some time out of the city.

Highly recommended. The photos are accurate. If you like the tundra and walking, it's excellent. I hope you check the leak in the kitchen and the water pressure.

The location can't be better! Everything in the house is well done, clean, comfortable, and luxurious. Most of all, the commission was quick and clear. We're already trying to arrange a return trip.

The cabin is beautiful, super comfortable, with everything you need for a spectacular rest. Everything in it is of super good quality and good taste. It is eaten spectacular at the San Simon bakery which is a 3-minute walk away, to get there you have to spend a piece of terracería but it's worth a rest in the cabin. Excellent communication with Yocelin, who was attentive to everything and recommended Flor to us. Flor helped us cook and clean the cabin. And Andrés took us to the events we were going to. Excellent and highly recommended experience.

This house is simply SPECTACULAR. The place is super quiet and the house is very comfortable in every respect. From the moment you enter the house, you feel a relaxed and very pleasant atmosphere. I was very surprised by the excellent quality of all the utensils and appliances. The outdoor deck is a perfect place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even a campfire. The garden is also very spacious. You feel like you're in the middle of the countryside. Yocelín's service was first-rate at all times. He was always very attentive to us and made sure that everything went perfectly. I highly recommend staying at this house, and I'm sure I'll be back as soon as I can.

The house is just as seen in the photos. The bathroom in the master bedroom is one of the most beautiful places in the house. They have everything to make your stay very comfortable and pleasant. The kitchen has all the accessories, and the location and proximity to the Panadería San Simón mean that any food item you need to make a delicious breakfast or lunch is just a few steps away. I highly recommend it.

We spent a few incredible days at Casa Gardenia! The house is in a perfect location. It faces west, which gives it a spectacular view of the sunsets. We had very sunny and hot days during the day despite it being December. At night it was quite cold and the house always maintained a very pleasant temperature. I really liked the house's architecture. The layout is quite comfortable and practical. The decoration is very tasteful, simple, Nordic style. The house has everything you need to spend a few unforgettable days with your family, alone, or as a couple. From all areas of the house you can enjoy the view of the garden, which is very nice and spacious. There are two hammocks and a trampoline for children. The house has a terrace where you can do various activities. It has an outdoor table where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner outdoors or read in the two super comfortable single chairs. They have a Weber grill with all the utensils to be able to grill meat, as well as a fire pit for family gatherings to eat roasted marshmallows. There is firewood already cut for the fireplace, but I loved that there is a log with an axe to have the experience of cutting firewood. The terrace is a very enjoyable space in the house. It has an umbrella and a gas heater. The sofa in the living room is very comfortable. You will surely spend hours watching movies covered with a blanket. They have all the platforms for a movie or series marathon. They have several board games. The internet is good. The kitchen is very practical and has everything except a microwave. But since you know the house, you understand why there is no microwave, which is never needed. It's part of the experience. On the ground floor, there is a full bathroom that serves one of the bedrooms and functions as a guest bathroom. The other bedroom does have a bathroom. The master bedroom is upstairs. I loved it!! The bed is King-sized, and the sheets and blankets will envelop you… I slept like I hadn't slept in a long time. I loved the pillows. I wanted to steal them. The bathroom in the master bedroom is awesome!! It's super spacious. You can literally take a bath in the outdoor tub. It's super romantic for a couple or for bathing the kids after a day of adventures. The bathroom features a terrace and a small table. Features parking for several vehicles. The place is safe and is surrounded by other very similar houses. You can't miss walking in the mornings to buy a shell at the Panadería San Simón. (It is 100 meters from the house). They have freshly baked bread every day. The vanilla shells cost $5, which is unbelievable... and they are spectacular. You can ask for them to be heated and eat them there with a hot coffee or hot chocolate. The pizzas baked in their stone oven are delicious, and you can order them for takeout. A few meters away, also on foot, there is a place where you can rent bicycles and they have guided tours. We spent some unforgettable days. We will definitely be back. Yocelin is super friendly and was always attentive to what she could offer. The house is new, everything is impeccable. Super experience.

It's a spotless, incredibly decorated, spacious and close‑knit home. Communication with Yoselin and Hugo was very good, excellent Internet connection (perfect for Home Office), and the Panadería San Simón is just steps from the house (also highly recommended). Great place for a restful stay. The place is spotless and according to the photos. Yocelin is a great hostess and was very attentive to everything. The house is half an hour away from Avándaro but it's easy to get there. We loved it!

We spent a dream vacation in one of the most beautiful houses we have ever met. The house is spectacular, it has everything you need to make you feel more than welcome. The architecture is breathtaking, modern, and with the warmth of a Nordic cabin. Super equipped, the beds delicious, every corner of the house is very well cared for. The main stay is surrounded by windows to see all of nature while cooking. The garden is very large and beautiful, our little dog enjoyed it a lot. The location is unique, you are in the middle of the forest with a delicious climate. Nearby you can go for walks in the middle of the forest, where you can collect mushrooms or you can reach some waterfalls. Hugo and Yocelin were always very attentive to anything we needed to make our stay unforgettable. Adrian and his whole family helped us a lot with house issues. It is undoubtedly a very special and unparalleled place!
