3BR Home in Oaxaca City

Jacinda

Excellent, 4 weeks ago

Beautiful home with great amenities in a fantastic location

The 'Casa de Milagros' is far bigger than we had ever imagined! It is a courtyard like setting with rooms surrounding an open space. The kitchen and dining room are incredibly spacious and we were able to make dinners there together. The sitting area outside was super nice for relaxing. Our hosts were super communicative and friendly. There was a lovely woman who was there to clean every day. Our hosts were incredibly communicative and friendly. The only drawback was the noise of the traffic, which is inescapable if you are staying in the town center!

This is a beautiful home which has been lovingly taken care of. The bedrooms were all very nice and the house had beautiful art throughout. The kitchen was well appointed with a housekeeper to make breakfast (at a very reasonable cost). The real highlight is the location as Centro is so walkable from the home. We really enjoyed our stay here and hope to come back. Although the bedrooms were quiet, there is noise outside so bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. None of us had any problems.

Great, clean space for 3 friends traveling to live like a local Oaxacan....and most importantly we each had our own private bathroom. Very walkable to great restaurants, coffee, and cocktail bars. Our host, Adriana was very easy to communicate with and was quick to respond and go above and beyond (she booked us an early am taxi for our 6am flight) . Additionally, you must opt in for the breakfast from Rufina, it was delicious!

We had a magical stay at Los Milagros. The house is beautifully restored, extremely comfortable, and spotless. The location at the edge of Centro Historico felt more like a neighborhood than a tourist area, and everything was walkable. And waking up to a marvelous Oaxacan breakfast prepared by Rufina was a highlight of our stay. The house is clearly loved and cared for accordingly, and we look forward to a return visit. In addition, Adriana was very responsive to questions and connected us with excellent tour guides and drivers for our explorations.

The house is simply SPECTACULAR!! 100% recommended. The house is exactly as shown in the photos; in fact, I don't think the photos do enough justice to the feeling of this property. This house is not to be seen, it is to be felt, to be experienced. Everything was EXCELLENT! We'll definitely be back!

Adriana is a very conscientious host who responded very quickly to all our questions. We loved that each of the 3 bedrooms had private bathrooms. The house is so spacious and Rufina kept everything clean. Staying here is like having your own private boutique hotel. There was no need to take a taxi because we could walk to everything. The only drawback is the house is situated on a busy street. The street noise is fully disclosed in all the info so come with ear plugs and know that you will hear traffic for most of the day. We were out exploring most days so only experienced the noise in the evening, when it wasn’t as bad. All in all this is a beautiful home with everything you need. Highly recommend.

Amazing residence, well located in central Oaxaca City. The house is beautiful and immaculately clean and well designed. The space was comfortable for our family of 5 including 2 kids. Each room had an en-suite bathroom and shower as well as a/c mini splits. The roof top area was beautiful, prefect to watch the sunrise/sunset. The kitchen was huge and well stocked cookware. Plenty of seating throughout the property. The location was excellent, walking distance to plenty of restaurants and shops. We felt very safe. The seafood restaurant, Humar, is across the street from the home. The housekeeper was very friendly and caring. We added in a breakfast for one morning and it was delicious- my kids gobbled it up. I would love to return to this property. Thank you for the great hospitality.

We couldn’t even begin to recommend Adriana and this property more highly! The property is better than the pictures! We had a great stay: the Housekeeper cleans every day and makes fabulous authentic breakfast! Easy to walk to Michelin star restaurants, fantastic Mezcal tastings, local art and print shops, and rooftop bars! If you are looking to have the “full Oaxaca experience“ start here! Looking forward to coming back!

We loved staying at the spacious Casa de los Milagros in Oaxaca. We especially enjoyed the breakfasts made by the housekeeper Rufina, a lovely person and wonderful cook (breakfast is optional and reasonably priced). Such a treat to come to a beautifully set table each morning. Comfortable beds and furnishings, nice linens and interesting art throughout the house. Rufina keeps the home spotless. Easy to walk to all the Centro sites, bars and restaurants. There’s a very good seafood restaurant right across the street, Humar. As noted in the description, there is some traffic noise during rush hours, but nothing that disrupted our sleep. Adriana is very responsive and helpful, and arranged a taxi for our return to the airport. For a pampering and authentic experience, this is the place.

We had a wonderful stay. Adriana was kind, communicative and especially thoughtful when she found out it was my birthday. The home is lovely, well cleaned, and better than the photos. Note, the furniture in the living room has been updated since the photo was taken. We met Rufina one morning (we were always out early) and she was super sweet as well. We didn't cook, but the kitchen is fully stocked with all of the tools you would need to cook many meals. One of the three bedrooms is smaller than the others, but still lovely. It was wonderful to have plenty of filtered water available throughout the home. The Dorothy mural in the kitchen is whimsical and I had the joy of meeting the local artist during the visit when I recognized his signature in a gallery. I would stay again. Thanks for a lovely stay, Adriana and Rufina!

The house was even more outstanding in person than in the photos. Spacious property, lots of outdoor space, great kitchen, beautiful bedrooms (one of the three is on the smaller side). It's about a 8-10 minute walk to the Zocalo, but it will take a lot longer to get there if you are constantly sidetracked by the great shops and cafes along the way like we were! Adriana has a great book with house information and lots of suggestions. We went to two of her recommended restaurants and even heard about and participated in a temazcal herbal ceremony (like a sauna) because of her rec. Rufina is there every day to clean and we hired her to make breakfast for us twice, which was over the top beautiful and delicious. After long days of walking and exploring it felt so great to come back to such a welcoming and beautiful house and each have our own space to relax. A/C in the bedrooms is a huge bonus, because it did get pretty hot and humid there and it made sleeping so much easier.

Very nice home with comfortable layout and amenities. Ruffina, the cook and housekeeper was great.

Thank you so much . Have a safe trip. We hope to see you soon

Adriana’s place was so beautiful and welcoming, it was hard to leave to go explore Oaxaca. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. I loved my bed! Every evening we relaxed in the courtyard or up on the rooftop patio. Lovely way to unwind after a day of walking around. The kitchen is huge and fully stocked. It was easy to cook when we wanted to. Then again, Rufina’s delicious breakfasts were better than anything we could have made. Adriana was wonderfully helpful and responsive. She gave us great recommendations for area eateries and arranged for early morning transportation to the airport when we left.

Previously I’ve thought of Airbnbs as convenient, clean places to stay and as a base to visit local attractions. Adrian’s house is so unique, beautiful and comfortable that it is an attraction unto itself. It is a pleasure to spend time there. Daily housekeeping and delicious breakfasts ( for a modest cost) prepared by Rufina the housekeeper are another great feature. My wife and I highly recommend Adriana’s house for your visit to Oaxaca.

Our family really enjoyed our stay. Our host was fantastic...best in class. And the home was immaculate--better in person that the photos. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you!💯

Adriana's home was perfection in every way. Truly gorgeous design yet incredibly functional. We had everything we could think of. The daily cleaning service was amazing - I've never had such a luxury airbnb experience like we did at Adriana's. We did one morning of a home cooked breakfast which was super delicious and affordable. This is the type of airbnb you actually want to spend at. The rooftop was also so perfect - we spent many morning watching the sunrise and evenings with a bottle of wine enjoying each others company. Each of the rooms had AC and private bathroom making it a great option for a larger group. Adriana is an incredible host and very responsive and accommodating - she even met us when we arrived to show us around the house and make sure we were taken care of! I would absolutely stay at the this home again on our next trip back to Oaxaca.

I cannot say enough good things about Adriana's rental. As many reviews stated, the pictures do not do this place justice and it is beyond beautiful and is such a comfortable space. Our trip was for 5 adults who wanted to explore Oaxaca and this home was in a perfect location to walk anywhere we wanted to go. Even though you are right in the city, we had no problem with any outside noise as I couldn't hear anything from the bedrooms at night. We requested breakfast for 2 of the mornings and Rufina made us a delicious meal each time and was so sweet. We also really appreciated the filtered water that was provided for each bedroom and the daily cleaning service. We were so sad to leave this home and will definitely stay here again when we visit Oaxaca in the future.

Can't say enough fantastic things about our stay. The casa is very large and wonderful. The best part is having our amazing Rufina every day. If you are asked if you would like an additional breakfast option with Rufina: DO IT!! She is a special gem that brings the house alive. I would absolutely love to stay here again without hesitation. My only advice for all travelers (with all of Oaxaca) bring your earplugs it can be noisy on the street and with music on weekends or evenings. We slept wonderfully but I do not travel to Mexico without earplugs anyway. Very special location and home, beautiful experience. Thank you so much Adriana!!!!

Host Response

Thank you very much for your words. Everyone wants to take Rufi ! I have to take great care of it

Adriana’s place is an excellent choice to stay in Oaxaca. The house is beautiful, safe, clean, spacious, and in an excellent location. Besides this, Rufina, which is the lady that may cook for the visitors is a very sweet, respectful, & cordial person, which is also in charge of the daily cleaning of the house, plus she is an excellent cook. Adriana is an excellent host, always attentive & cares for making her visitors feel welcomed. Don’t search any more and just rent this place😊👍🏼✌🏻

The accommodation is one of the most incredible places I have stayed in, the house is beautiful, super spacious, the beautiful kitchen, the large rooms each with its bathroom, you can breathe a lot of peace and tranquility even though it is in a central area of Oaxaca but super well located. My family and I decided to stay here because it was my wedding and I wanted a nice place for the photos of the getting ready and wowwww I could not have had a better choice, since the house has such beautiful details in each of its corners and the photos came out too beautiful, I felt too quiet because each person had their space to do their job. Added to all this Rufina, the housekeeper made us breakfast every day, super delicious and Oaxacan, which even more made us feel at home and very warm. It's definitely the best place to stay in Oaxaca, we look forward to returning soon. Thank you very much for everything Adriana.

Our family of 5 (myself, husband, & 3 children aged 20,18 & 15) had an amazing stay! The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable and so many common spaces to enjoy. The interiors were beautifully decorated with art and textiles from Oaxaca, making the house even more interesting. I loved the courtyard and the kitchen. As you’re in the centre, you can walk everywhere! It’s brilliantly located. There was traffic noise occasionally from outside but nothing that got in the way of our sleep…and we were there during festival time! Each room has a ceiling fan and AC. Rufi, the housekeeper was polite and cooked a fabulous breakfast on two of the mornings for us which we loved! We’d head out and enjoy the town and return to a feeling of coming back home. A beautiful stay had by all and wonderful host! Thank you Adriana!

We loved this giant airy space, featuring beautiful furniture, endless cool little places to sit, a spectacular view, more than enough bathrooms, a full kitchen, daily cleaning, and located so that we could easily walk to all the control town areas. The traffic was noisy outside during early and late rush hours, but not enough to dominate the inside space. The host and cleaners were super nice and responsive. Absolutely will stay again when we return to Oaxaca.

This pictures online are only a glimpse of this special place. It does not capture the warmth and personal touches that went into this place. Adriana was able to accomadate our early check in, greeted us and gave us a welcome tour. She was very responsive any time I had questions. There were little touches like umbrellas and hats available in our rooms that came into use for us on the unexpected rain. The location could not be bear. It was a short walk to the busy city but far enough away for it to not be noisey and private. The roof terrace and courtyard were prefect for our morning coffee. We loved that each room had its own private bathroom and shower. I think the extra special touch came from the housekeeper, Rufina. Her breakfasts were delicious. We had an early excurision planned and she made sure we were fed before. Also giving helpful tips on local places to grab snacks and sites to see. If or when we come back to Oaxaca, I will plan our trip on this homes availability!

Adriana and Frida, her second in command, were gracious and helpful at all times. Adriana answered all inquiries promptly and helped us line up transportation to destinations outside the city. Rufina, the housekeeper, who also cooked our delicious breakfasts, was a treasure. We were sorry to say goodbye to her at the end of our stay. We had air conditioning when we wanted it and never lacked for hot water. The house was quiet, secure and even more beautiful than it looked in the posting. We loved it.

Adriana was very responsive when I emailed that our flight had arrived a little early, and she was waiting for us when we arrived at the house. Her English was perfect and we had no problems communicating. She also arranged a taxi back to the airport for us when it was time to check out. There aren’t many English speaking people in Oaxaca it seems. The house was very clean and all six guests were happy with their accommodations. I would definitely recommend this place. It was very close to shopping and restaurants and walkable to museums. I would suggest checking in advance about what day you want to go do things, such as museums and Mayan ruins. They aren’t open every weekday. There were fabulous murals and art shops, and great drinks and food around town.

Loved our stay. Rufina and her lovely breakfasts were icing on the cake. The place is large with a lot of natural light. Highly recommend

Adriana was a wonderful host. She was very responsive before our arrival and throughout our stay. The house is beautiful and well-situated in the city, with an easy walk to the city center, markets, and restaurants. Rufina was also one of the best parts about staying at Casa de los Milagros. As Adriana's helper, she prepared breakfast for our group in the morning and helped us with other house needs. Both were very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely try to stay here again the next time I'm in Oaxaca.

The first word that comes to mind when we think of our recent stay at Casa de los Milagros is PERFECTION. Everything from the booking to the checkout was easy. Adriana was very responsive to our questions before our stay and was very helpful with booking a taxi for us for our first morning’s stay. The house was both gorgeous and comfortable - the owners have thought of everything for a comfortable stay. My husband wanted to pack the mattress to bring home with us :) I agree with the other Commenter that the AirBnB pictures don’t fully capture the beauty of this house. Then, there’s Rufina - the housekeeper. This gem kept the house immaculate, cooked the 6 of us yummy breakfasts daily and even bought the ingredients and prepared a favorite dish of mine that I requested (for which I paid extra - but no problem). I won’t give the surprise away - but every morning we were greeted with a gorgeous table. And her Juevos Rancheros were the best we’ve ever had! She had everything ready

Rufina's care and her excellent breakfasts were highly appreciated -- thank you so much? And thanks to Adriana too for all her help and making everything run so smoothly!

Casa de los milagros is truly a special place, and as others have mentioned, even more beautiful than the images would suggest. We had everything we needed and were grateful for Rufi’s care (and delicious breakfasts). It was an incredibly central location with everything a 10-15 (lovely) walk away. The location and courtyard render it loud at night, but honestly, that is an easy exchange for the location— and something that makes you feel connected to Oaxaca. We very much enjoyed our stay and look forward to a return.

I’ve never had to leave a bad review, but we DO NOT recommend! The maid was unfriendly & gave us no requested privacy, she stayed until 3pm. She arrived one morning at 7am & woke up our kids by being too noisy. She also sat in the kitchen & ate her own breakfast while watching shows on her phone! We used a mattress for our daughter & tried to put this back in the upstairs room, however the maid had locked both rooms– even though we had paid for the entire house! The internal surveillance is awful & uncomfortable with our kids often naked in a private home. Hot water / pressure not working properly. Extremely noisy! We noticed things changing in the house while we were out, which led us to believe people were coming in while not here. Adriana did allow us to use the washing machine, which we appreciated. This is not our first Airbnb in Oaxaca; we have travelled here 4 times in the last 10 years. With hundreds of properties available, I’m sure you could find something more comfortable.

Host Response

We greatly appreciate your feedback and have taken immediate action to address the issues you brought to our attention. Thank you for helping us improve our service. Adriana

Casa Milagros was a beautiful, spacious BNB right in the heart of the centro. Quick five or ten minute walk to many restaurants and areas of interest. The area inside was quite large and very comfortable for our party of four. Rufina was super sweet and we enjoyed chatting with her in the mornings. One Saturday night, there was a loud concert at the stadium on the hill that kept everyone awake but otherwise, the busy street noise was easy to ignore with all windows and doors closed. Despite the noise, we would definitely recommend Casa Milagros to anyone traveling to Oaxaca. It is full of authentic, Mexican charm!!

Amazing! Fantastic! Hard to believe, but place is actually nicer than photos indicate. It's like having your own compound getaway in the middle of the city. Kitchen is especially impressive. We had a chef come over to deliver a cooking class on authentic Oaxacan cuisine and the kitchen was the perfect teaching space. Sra. Rufina is also great and keeps the place absolutely spotless, not a speck of dust to be found (and her breakfasts are as good as previous reviews mention). Having her around 7am to 3pm was very helpful. There is some street noise, but that is just the price you pay for being in the Centro and within walking distance of all the important sites (Santo Domingo church, Zocalo, etc.).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa de Los Milagros. Adriana was so friendly and quick to respond, provided great restaurant recommendations, and helped coordinate airport transportation. Rufina kept the house spotlessly clean and cooked wonderful breakfasts each morning. The house is in a perfect, walkable location and we would return in a heartbeat!

It’s true, as a previous review said, the photos are nice, but they don’t adequately show just how beautiful Casa de los Milagros is. It’s extremely clean, colorful, has beautiful natural light and art work, and is spacious and unique. It’s one of a kind - I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Adriana was a helpful host! And Rufina’s breakfasts were a treat, it’s was great way to eat homemade Oaxacan food. The place is centrally located in Oaxaca, so it was easy to walk to museums, restaurants, shops and the markets. Don’t hesitate to book this place. We stayed here with my son, who’s under 10 years-old, and he enjoyed the home very much too.

Fantastic stay. Don’t hesitate-book it! Amazingly the place was better than the photos which is hard to do because the photos looked good. We slept well in the well appointed rooms. The house was in a great location, and we were able to walk everywhere within the city we wanted to go. Rufina was kind and so great with our son. Her breakfasts should not be missed. Adriana was extremely responsive and helpful. We plan to be back.

This is one of our favourite Airbnbs in the world. A wonderful place to stay to discover the incredible city of Oaxaca. We will continue to return for years to come.

Superlative! The house is gorgeous, tranquil, and full of lovely artwork. It is kept spotless and organized by the wonderful housekeeper, Ruffina. There are many places for a family to congregate and relax together, both inside and outside. All the spaces are inviting. We loved Ruffina’s breakfasts, and Adriana was responsive and welcoming, providing much information about the area. We loved all the many books, too! We will definitely return - thank you!
