We had such a wonderful stay! Everything was perfect. Thank you Nicolette for your hospitality :)

We loved the house! It was in a nice location within easy walking distance of many restaurants and the downtown/centro. Nicolette was easy to communicate with when needed as was Yoli her housekeeper, who came in once during our stay to refresh the sheets etc. on a day we were out doing tours. Lots of space in the house for three couples and two children. The wifi is quite weak in the front bedroom and front entry part of the house but other than that everything was terrific!

Host Response

Thank you so much for your kind review! We're thrilled you loved the house and enjoyed its perfect location for walking to restaurants and Centro. It was a pleasure hosting you and your group — it sounds like you had a wonderful time exploring. We're glad Nicolette and Yoli were helpful and responsive during your stay. Yoli really appreciates the kind words! Regarding the wifi, thank you for mentioning it. The front bedroom and entry area are in the original 300+ year-old colonial section of the house, where the walls are extremely thick stone. This makes signal penetration challenging despite our wifi booster. We’re continuously looking for ways to improve coverage in that area. In the meantime, most guests find the signal strong in the main living areas, back bedrooms, and courtyard. We’re so happy everything else was terrific and that you had a great stay with us. We’d love to welcome you back anytime!

Our family stayed in this wonderful home for a week. It's just as described and beautiful in person. There are plenty of seating areas to relax in and plenty of rooms for everyone. The views were great, the pool was nice to cool off in and having a/c in each room helped for the hot days. The kitchen was easy to use and there was plenty of water for all of us. It was walking distance to just about everything we wanted to do. Yoli was wonderful and made our kids feel included in the meals. Having her cook for us made the experience of eating the local food even better. Yoli even helped us plan a birthday celebration for our twins, piñata and everything. Overall this was a great home to spend our time in Merida and we look forward to visiting again.

Absolutely fantastic stay! The place was comfortable and exactly as described. The host was friendly, responsive, and made check-in effortless. The location was perfect, close to everything you need while still being peaceful and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay!

Host Response

Thank you for being great guests Giovani and we are very happy you enjoyed our home and lovely Merida.

Beautiful home in a great central location. A block from a great market with incredible food, a couple of blocks from Plaza Grande and everything going on there and an easy enough walk to Paseo Montejo that the 72 year old in our party with a bad knee could make it. The house itself is huge, the pictures can’t capture just how much space you actually have and the views from the multiple levels of patios are better than the expensive rooftop restaurant on Plaza Grande. Overall, if you are like I was and have looked at every Airbnb in Merida and can’t figure out what’s close to the things you want to see or if it’s big enough for your group…this is the place. I stressed for weeks on choosing a place and I’m so glad we get this one!

Host Response

Hi Lee, thanks for being great guests. We are very happy you enjoyed our home and beautiful Merida, she truly is a gem of a city. Hope to see you back again one day soon.

Great home, it felt like it was my own very comfortable. The views from the top floor were amazing. Every bedroom had its own amazing spacious bathroom. The A/C units all worked well and kept us nice and cool while we slept as well during the day when it was at its hottest outside. It felt like a little oasis in the middle of the city, the swimming pool was nice and cool perfect for those hot days. The location of the home is perfect, everything you need is within walking distance. The host was very attentive to any messages and questions.I would definitely recommend this place to anyone with a large family.

A very pleasant stay in a beautiful villa close to the center

We loved staying at Nicolette's house in Merida! The house is beautiful and felt like a little oasis away form the hustle and bustle of the city. Despite being on a relatively busy road, you didn't hear any of the traffic from inside the house and felt very private and safe. The various outdoor areas were great to relax and chill after a day exploring the city. Nicolette was always on hand to assist with any questions and even did a pre-arrival call to go through items with the house, check in and recommended a number of places we should visit while we were there. Perfect location for access to the main square, we walked everywhere! Would definitely recommend staying here!

The pictures do not do the home justice!! It is even better. You enter from a busy Merida street into a peaceful, cool sanctuary. We had 8 people - 3 generations - and it met all of our needs. Yoli was very responsive helpful and kind.

Overall, we had a good stay -comfortable beds, nice towels, great pool and wonderful location. Things did feel a little shabby around the edges for the top dollar price. We stayed a month and hoped to cook but the poor lighting and general grunginess of the kitchen put us off. The on-line info was helpful however not having a written guide for the house was odd, Nicolette was always responsive but more general nuts and bolts house info would have saved some back and forth. Booking outings with extremely knowledgeable Rodolfo was a highlight of our trip. Merida is filled with museums and plenty to do and having a centrally located oasis to come home to and a responsive host made for a nice month away.

The house is gorgeous on the inside with beautiful furniture and stays quite cool. We had an issue where the water did not work for 24 hours, but be mindful that even with the water working, the water pressure in the showers is low and toilets are slow/ difficult to flush. Yoly, the housekeeper, was fantastic and so nice.

Host Response

Unfortunately problems with water systems happen and are sometimes beyound our control. You reported the problem in the evening and we had the maintenance team there first thing in the morning and got it fixed ASAP (it was not 24 hours). We stayed at the house right after you left and did not find the water pressure or toilets a problem, so not sure what the expectation was for them. Glad you enjoyed your stay otherwise and once again we do apologise for the inconvenience, it was beyond our control but we will provide a discount on the electricity for the inconvenience.

The house is gorgeous, spacious and a true respite from the city. Every day we'd go the market around the block and stock up on guacamole and margarita fixings for evening cocktail hour on the 3rd floor terrace. We spent most of our vacation lounging around the house - on one of the four terraces. The location is excellent - it's quiet but near everything you would want. There are great restaurants and cafes in every direction. For several of our days we were a total of 8 in the house and there was more than ample room for each of us to have our own space or to congregate as a group.

Nicolette’s property is spacious, beautiful and comfortable. It was in an ideal location, and walkable to great restaurants and most local attractions. The bedrooms includes quality linens and three of the four have en suite baths with fluffy Charisma towels. It was nice that there are both indoor and outdoor dining tables and seating areas that accommodate a group. The outdoor lighting at night is dramatic and beautiful, and the multiple terraces allow parents and adult children to spread out if that’s your preference. Both Nicolette (the owner) and Yoli (the local manager) responded promptly to texts and were helpful in resolving the few issues that did arise during our stay. (An equipment malfunction knocked out the electricity. Yoli arrived within 20 minutes and power was restored while we were out to dinner.) There is a great bakery across the street- an added bonus.

The house is amazing! It is hands die. The best house we have stayed in. It is a huge colonial house with great attention to detail. The location couldn’t be better. The pool ad fountains are lovely. We didn’t even have to turn on the AC due to a fabulous fresh air flowing through the house. We spent most of our time on the outdoor covered patio areas and loved watching the son go down with the profile of Santiago church and its bells ringing at the end of day. Nicolette was very proactive and reached out to us prior to our visit to ensure we had all the details. The house manager Yoli was very helpful and even helped us do our laundry. We had a wonderful stay!

Nov 8-16, 2022 Loved the home. We stayed with our son and his family which included three children. The home was more than we expected the pictures did not do it justice. One of the many things I was able to appreciate was how the home was restored to its once grandeur with attention to detail but with modern convienes. The one thing I found disappointing was the lack of hammock hooks to hang a hammock since that is part of the culture. The home is centrally located you have everything you need within walking distance. Restaurants, coffee shops, shopping. There is no need to cook in the home unless you choose since it has everything you need. As for Yoli, she is amazing. She checked on us regularly to see if there was anything we needed. She made a point of coming by to show us how everything worked. Thank you Nicolet was the privilege of allowing us to make your home our home for a week. The Carrasco family Manteca California

From the airport, it is a 15-minute taxi ride. Check-in was a breeze with no issues. The lockbox was easy to locate and we were in the front door in less than a minute. 7 of us stayed at this house, and it was perfect. The house is beautiful and much larger than the images portray. It was neat, clean, and very comfortable. Once we figured out all the switches for lights and fans (which were all nicely labeled), we were all set. The location is great - many restaurants, shopping and parks within a few blocks. We felt very safe in the neighborhood no matter the time of night or day. Parking on the street was fairly simple and even when parking 3 blocks away, the vehicle was very safe. I highly recommend this property. Oh, and the bath towels will make you envious! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back!

It was a lovely place for our family of 8 adults, well-located , beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. Overall, it was an amazing place where we were able to spend many peaceful times together, cooling off in the pool in the heat of the day, watching sunsets, and preparing lunches in a really well-equipped kitchen, and taking our meals together at a very large table in a splendid setting. Yoli (the property manager) was very helpful. She made us a delicious arrival meal, which was much appreciated since we didn’t yet have the ‘lay of the land’. She also responded (in Spanish of course, via WhatsApp) promptly, politely, and continuously to the many questions we came up throughout our stay regarding the property, about Merida, and even about local food items. Although it’s a small thing, we were a bit disappointed that the fountain nearest our bedroom stopped working (my husband really loved that 😊) and could not be repaired during our stay. Incidentally, the property’s host (Nicolette, who is not locally based) must have had problematic experiences with some of her previous guests as her rule book comes across as draconian with a long list of things that guests must not do (including not allowing guests to use the washer/dryer and not permitting a caterer to come in without supervision by Yoli ). Our interactions with Yoli were very good throughout. Once we established that we are very responsible and respectful guests, she gave us all the independence we needed! As mentioned above, this was a great experience.

We enjoyed exploring Merida and surrounding areas while having this home to come home to at the end of the day! We found the architecture and layout of the home to be fascinating and unique. It is hard not to fall in love with the old-world feel of it with the arched doorways, round windows, high ceilings and large pillars. It's tastefully decorated and there is so much room to spread out. We never once felt crowded with our large group. The pool was a huge hit with the kids and definitely helped make it possible to stay cool since we chose to skip the A/C and embrace the Yucatan weather! The housekeeper helped us arrange an authentic dinner meal to be prepared in the home. We found it to be very delicious and the cost reasonable. We highly recommend the panuchos! This house's location is great from which to explore the city. Lots of things to see and do within walking distance. We stayed over a holiday weekend and the nightlife was quite loud, just like Nicolette said to expect. However, the week nights were reasonably quiet. Another thing to note is parking is not in front of the house. Best case scenario, you'll find a place to park within a block or two, but more often than not we had to park much further away which was a slight logistical inconvenience with our group of eight. All in all, we had a great experience here and we'd recommend Casa Chablis!

This place is an actual paradise. Everything is so perfectly curated and the attention to detail is amazing. Nicolette is very helpful in giving very specific information and answering any questions you may have. Yoli is so sweet and an awesome cook. The location couldn’t be better and if you are bringing a car, street parking was easy. This is the best Airbnb experience we have ever had and we highly recommend this place. Thank you Nicolette and Yoli!!

First trip to Merida and this house was the icing on the cake. Great communication with Nicolette. Excellent location for walking to restaurants, shops, and even to the Merida English Library. Be sure to check out the café across the street and the chocolate shop near Cafe Montejo. Hot showers with great water pressure. A refreshing and clean pool to cool off after hot days spent siteseeing. Traveled with 6 adults and everyone had enough room to spread out. Enjoyed the breezes from the rooftop seating area. Family is already talking about going back in the summer. Best Airbnb I've stayed in!

Beautiful property, perfectly located. Walking distance from most everything of interest in Merida. The staff is very helpful, attentive and reasonable in terms of price. The house could use some TLC (eg: some lightbulbs, cushions need to be replaced) but nothing that would detract from having an enjoyable stay.

The house is fantastic! Everything in it made our stay very pleasant. Linens, towels, beds, were comfy, clean and ready for our vacation in Merida. The location is just perfect as everything that matters in downtown Merida is at walking distance. I wish we had had more time just to stay in the house, at the pool and terraces and enjoy the calm and quiet of the city. The decoration is marvelous, with tons of details all around the several rooms and areas in the house. A great choice for a comfortable stay in Merida.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Casa Chablis. We loved the colonial feel of the home and the location was very convenient to see Centro. We enjoyed cocktails by a local mixologist on the upper patios while watching the beautiful Merida sunsets. A local chef prepared traditional Mayan dishes which we enjoyed on the outside veranda. Nicolette was a wonderful host and a tremendous help with the pre-planning for the trip. Thank you for sharing your home!

Nicolettes house is absolutely beautiful! The pictures do not do justice on how big the place actually is! My family (7 of us) had an amazing stay in Merida. Her home is located so close to the downtown area and is only a few blocks away from the famous and delicious Chaya Maya restaurant. Even though it was 90-100 degrees the whole week we were there, we still were very comfortable in her house. The AC in each room works great. Most of the doors also had screens, so if you wanted you could let in a natural breeze without any bugs getting in. Overall, our stay was great! I have absolutely nothing to complain about. Thanks again Nicolette!

The house is very spacious! With a very nice colonial style, the location is very good. We felt cared for and comfortable

My husband and I got married in Merida and booked the house for our wedding party to stay in. The place has an immense amount of space and could easily accommodate a small crowd by the pool and terraces. Some aspects of the house need a little bit of upkeep but in general it felt grand and luxurious. My understanding is that the person actually managing the property is not the person who owns the property and has it listed on Airbnb. This meant that we needed to communicate with another person via Whatsapp and then also the housekeeper who we didn't have a direct line of communication with but would come over at times (she doesn't speak English FYI). Just be aware that different people may be coming to maintain the property, and not always at the time you thought. We were told that the pool cleaners were going to come in the morning but ended up coming in the afternoon right in the middle of our ceremony rehearsal. Overall, I think that the property is fantastic, but could use a surface level refresh and some more streamlined communication protocols.

Trip of 8 ... Finding the house was definitely a challenge, I searched for almost all the houses on the platform because it had important points to consider, we were 8 adults, we needed at least 2 bathrooms, enough beds, that it was close to the center to be able to walk and with ample spaces to live, until I arrived at Casa Chablis. It was a pleasant experience staying here, it is a nice and spacious downtown house with a super location and it is worth mentioning that Merida is the safest city in Mexico, so you can walk any time you want and nothing happens. Staying 8 people here was very easy because there is enough space, bathrooms there are 3 complete and 2 half, however bathing was a challenge since even though the heater is passing through, the water cools very quickly, and bathing with cold water in winter is not at all rich, this is a point to consider if you don't like cold water. Another important point is the noise, as it is a house in the center, there is noise day and night, very close by there is a bar and there is noise most of the night, but when you arrive so tired of walking, it was not a big problem, but you have to consider it. Very close to the house there is everything, the Santiago market was a gem that we took to find but breakfast there is sensational and it is only 1 block from the house, it is rich and cheap. Please also note that electricity is paid separately throughout Merida, as it will depend on what you use and what you will charge. Overall it was a good experience except for the 8 person bathing to get out early for the tours. I would definitely recommend Casa Chablis!!

Casa Chablis is a wonderful home to stay in, with a variety of spaces, a swimming pool, rooftop balconies and kitchen. Yoli is a charm to have around. It was just right for our family.

Casa Chablis is an amazing place to stay, especially for a group. Lots of lovely spaces to hang out; well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of bathrooms. The deck on top is a must for evening sunsets. Location is great to walk into the Centro area of Merida, go to the local market or a small grocery store. We were always able to find parking within a block or two of the Casa. Nicolette was easy to work with and answered all our questions. The cook and housekeeper - Yoli - was wonderful. We hired her to make appetizers for us one evening and she did a fantastic job. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay when we came into town for our daughter’s wedding out at Sac Chich Hacienda.

Nicolette is a wonderful hostess! Her home is so comfortable, with so many fun spaces, from the pool to the rooftop deck. We would strongly recommend staying there. Yoli does a great job of cooking, as much or as little as a guest could want. Rodolfo Puch was an excellent guide, extremely knowledgeable, very patient and good with children.

Nicolette’s place is fantastic! A group of myself and five other friends traveled for a vacation and stayed in Merida for our first time. The house check in was easy (we came after hours) and a key was ready for us in a lock box. We rented a car and had easy parking just 1 block away on the street. The bedrooms have large comfy beds and individual air conditioners if you chose to use them. Nicolette has collected a few tips and recommendations from others and herself for people who stay which was helpful and useful for places to eat and tour guides. We stayed at the house one full day, laid by the pool, and listened to music- it was relaxing and a welcome space. We loved our time in Merida and at this house!! Worth a trip and we would certainly stay here again.

This was our first, and won’t be our last, visit to Merida. This incredible home was than comfortable for our 2 family group. The location was great, with markets and entertainment close by and a short walk to many amazing restaurants and shops. Nicolette is a fantastic host. The home is well appointed, with great seating areas both inside and house, and wonderful art throughout. Yoli, the caretaker of the home, gave us a wonderful welcome and made us an amazing meal for our first night in Merida–definitely consider this when you stay. Additionally, Nicolette does a wonderful job in preparing you for your visit with great communication and information about the area. This included an introduction to the tour guide, Rodolfo, who took us on an excursion to Cuzama Cenotes–it was fantastic! Thanks Nicolette! We had a wonderful trip and highly recommend Merida, and your home, to anyone considering it.

Nicolette was extremely helpful and accommodating. The place was beautiful and super comfortable. Everything was perfect. We walked everywhere in town we needed to go. She provided great recommendations. Definitely will stay at Casa Chablis on any return to Mérida. Great beds, comfy linens, the kitchen is very well appointed, the pool rules. And definitely don’t miss the sunset through the cathedral from the top terrace. The photos don’t quite do it justice. THANKS!

The house is beautiful and very spacious. The location was awesome. We could walk anywhere day or night, and felt completely safe. We were only a few blocks away from the center of Merida so we had a variety of options for restaurants and shopping. The views from the top terrace were amazing, and you could always get a cool breeze up there, which really feels great in the hot temperatures of the area. Being able to stay at this house instead of a hotel made our trip to Merida a whole lot better.

A beautiful, comfortable, luxurious, and fabulously well-equipped house, in an awesome location. I cannot fault a thing about our experience. Our only regret was having to leave! The pictures do not lie - the house is truly beautiful. The location is right in the heart of central Merida, with fantastic restaurants all around. Hope to come and stay here again. Thank you, Nicolette, for offering such a wonderful experience in your lovely house.

Nicolette's home fit our family of six perfectly. There are so many nice nooks and sitting areas, plus the swimming pool and dining area(s). The upper terraces were beautiful and offered relaxing views of the city. The whole house was kept very clean and comfortable. The housekeeper was very helpful and friendly; her cooking, which we contracted with her outside the normal rental fee, was excellent and provided a great way to relax at meals together. Also, the guide Nicolette put us in touch with, Rodolfo Puch, was excellent and really made our time in Merida unforgettable. This is a wonderful property.

This house is within walking distance to the cathedral. You get to walk to many shops and restaurants on the way. The house is truly beautiful and the terrace on the 3rd floor offers an amazing view of the city. Our cook and housekeeper Yoli made us an amazing brunch on Sunday which consisted of Yucatan and Mexican dishes. The beds and pillows are great as well. I went we a group of friends to a wedding and all of us enjoyed our stay throughout the weekend! Nicolette also gave us a list of recommendations for restaurants and things to do which was really useful!
