3BR Cottage in Valle de Guadalupe

Samantha

Excellent, 4 weeks ago

Our stay here for my sister’s bachelorette was everything we wanted and more! The co-host Belen was so sweet, welcoming, and had great tips on where to eat and drink. The house itself was BEAUTIFUL and we absolutely want to book here again! Thank you for a beautiful and peaceful stay in Valle de Guadalupe, Joel!

It was a stay where we were able to relax. You can enjoy the tranquility of the place and all the spaces to sit and rest, as well as enjoy time with the family.

The location was beautiful, and we really enjoyed the surroundings. There were, however, a few things that future guests should be aware of. The TV and remote in the bedroom we used were not working, which was disappointing since we were hoping to watch the World Cup. We ended up watching it on an iPad instead. The listing also did not mention that the second bathroom is located outside the main house and that it did not have hot water for showering. This was unexpected. Finding the property was challenging. We spent about 30 minutes lost and driving on rural roads before locating it, and cell service was very limited, making navigation difficult. Also, if you're planning to use the pool, note that it is not heated. Finally, our checkout experience was uncomfortable. The hosts arrived about an hour before the scheduled checkout time and remained on the property staring at us while we packed and loaded our belongings, making us feel rushed and uneasy.

Joel was great and responsive. This home is amazing and the kids loved the play area. House was immaculate, not a trace of dust anywhere. We loved all the sitting areas and the fireplace. We will stay here again. Thank you for the hospitality Joel.

It was simply perfect, super clean, awesome house and amenities. The place is better in person than in the pictures. Joel our host was very prompt with times, sweet, caring and eager to help. He even lent us a nice speaker for music. Sara, the lady that takes care of the pool and plants was super sweet. She helped us bringing wood for the fireplace, even her husband Jose came to help us because we couldn't turn on the fireplace. We can't wait to go back and stay longer. Definitely recommending this place for everyone.

It was the best place I've ever been in Valle! All spectacular! Communication with Joel and Mrs. Belen's reception were truly the best! The house with all the beautiful details, a really beautiful place that invites you to the rest and the joy of Valle de Guadalupe. I always hope to continue enjoying Valle at this beautiful property! Many thanks again to Joel and his Family for sharing their house with us! See you soon!

Our stay at Joel's was phenomenal. The property is very well-maintained and definitely better than in the photos. The interior was very clean and well-maintained, the rooms were spacious, and the bedding was very comfortable. My biggest compliment goes to how responsive they were - it's often a challenge to find this level of responsiveness in hospitality. Unfortunately, it was too chilly for us to jump in the pool, but even that was super clean!

We enjoyed our stay. The property is beautiful and well located for wine tastings. Joel and Belen are very responsive and helpful. Thank You 😊

This place is a great charming hacienda style home in the middle of the wine region. The house is decorated nicely, and has very comfortable beds and linens. It is clean and well furnished, and has fireplaces with provided firewood for the cold winter nights. We loved walking around the grounds and orchard, and sitting out on the covered patios at night or for breakfast. One thing to be aware of: the road to get there is a dirt road for the last 1/2 mile, and it rained a ton when we were there. Parts of the road flooded, making it a bit precarious if you had a low riding car or did not have 4 wheel drive. Check weather and plan accordingly.

We had an absolutely incredible time at Joel's place. Every room had its own mini split for us to stay cool. The rooms were a generous size. There was a surprise 3rd shower in the outhouse we were not expecting. A picture perfect location from which to watch the sun rise in the morning from the patio. My family and I plan on returning and staying specifically at this home. For a group, you absolutely will not be disappointed.

Very clean and pleasant property, the super friendly hosts always with very good communication, it has many fruit trees, the ideal place to enjoy a few days of rest with the family since it has an incredible pool and very complete children's area, it has many very special spaces on the patio with different types of living area such as rooms, dining rooms, garden chairs. We were very lucky. The hosts gave us permission to pick fruit from their beautiful orchard. A very special hacienda strategically located.

This home was just as pictured, and our stay was so lovely. We were visiting for a family wedding, and it was the perfect home base. It was immaculately clean, and they even provided a bottled water dispenser in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the linens fine. The pool was perfect for cooling off in the hot afternoon, but the evenings were comfortable and breezy. Communication was excellent. We loved our stay and hope we get the chance to visit again. Thank you so much!

The house is beautiful just like the pictures show, immaculately clean, perfect location, everywhere we ate was within 10-15 mins and lots of space, both indoor and outdoor. Very quiet and peaceful. Great place to relax. We were 2 families, 2 couples with 4 young adult children so 8 total. I didn't give it 5 stars for a few reasons... the listing said 5 beds but the sleeping arrangement is 4 beds + sofa bed. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable, very thin mattress and the frame wouldn't lay flat. My 18 yr decided to sleep on the couch rather than the pull out bed. The house is really more set up to accomodate 1 family or 2 families with small children. There is also no tv in the living room, we wanted to watch a movie together at night but couldn't. 2. The beds are very hard, good for back sleepers, bad for anyone else 3. there are so many places to sit outside but only 2 lounge chairs by the pool, would be nice to have some more lounge chairs and when the listing says small pool it means small, still very nice to lounge in on a hot day.... Also of note, you'll need to bring your own drinking water, and they don't have dish towels to dry the dishes.

The Hacienda was very nice with a large property. Located in the middle of the wine country it was easy access to everything. Beautiful landscaping makes for an interesting walk around the orchard on the property, and even a coup of chickens! We were hoping to swim in the pool but it was just too cold, might be best used in the summer as it appears to be sun heated. The only thing we thing would be helpful would be to make sure there are extra supplies (trash bags, paper towels, etc.) and serving bowls in the kitchen. We did alot of cooking for our party of 7 people, but were constantly having to improvise on how to serve up the food. Not a big thing, but would be nice to have. A really nice place that we would definitely return to! Thanks!

Casa de Campo was such a amazing place to stay! The grounds were well kept and although the pool was about 4ft. it was still great for relaxing. The interior of the house was beautifully decorated and accommodated our party comfortably. It was conveniently located 15-20 minutes away from wineries including Vena Cava, Casa de Frida, and Tahona, to name a few. Our hosts met us the day we arrived and were extremely helpful. We will definitely be visiting again!

Wonderful ranch spot. Woke to sounds of cows, sheep and chickens from neighboring properties. Really enjoyed the covered terrace area and pool. We love this place. We’ll be back!

This place is amazing, totally worth it. With many spaces to relax at, the grill area is GREAT!! The place is EXTRA CLEAN, no bugs inside the house which was great because I have stayed in Valle before and bugs are always inside the house, but not here! The toilets have great water pressure but the showers not so much, which is a normal in Valle. I would have liked hotter water, but again this is a normal in Valle. I was welcomed by Joel’s mom who was great at explaining the amenities and the property. The pool water is not heated, but the weather was amazing!

A very large space. Lots of green areas on the patio. You can even walk inside the property. There is a very nice Chilean. There's a huge bar for yourself. Everything was very clean. It should be noted that the pool is very small. The photos look like the pool is bigger and the reality is that it's very small and not deep. Also around the whole pool there is land that causes that every time one comes out of the pool and at the time of getting into the pool again. Outside, everything is perfect.

This house is an EXCEPTIONALLY beautiful home in a beautiful location. We would possibly return in the warmer spring or fall months. During the winter, be aware that there is no heating system and the evenings and nights get frigid cold (frost). Propane heaters were provided but we could not run them during the night for safety reasons since the propane smell was strong. We were told that if we wanted wood for the fireplace, we needed to pay $25 for a small amount. Our wine tour guide the day after we arrived took us to a local store and we did purchase some wood to use also. One of the 2 indoor bathrooms had a shower that the water would not get hot, just barely warm. I did request the owner to come out and show how to get it to work when he told me that it worked and it did not. We had 2 engineers and 4 professionals trying to get it to work and let the water run for 15-20 minutes but it never got more than lukewarm. This may be ok in the summer, but since the house was freezing cold and the window in that shower would not close because of warped wood, we could see our breath just trying to wait for the water to get hot, because it was so cold. We gave up and just used one bathroom between 6 people. The bathrooms are very nice; however, I would have liked to know in advance that toilet paper cannot be flushed. There were signs in the bathroom that all toilet paper needed to go in the trash and not flushed. This is unsanitary for obvious reasons and no additional bags were provided to change the trash to avoid open trash cans with soiled toilet paper. Be advised that if there is rain, the dirt roads to get to the house become badly washed out. We arrived and almost took out a wheel trying to pass through the washed out roads to get to the house...we are pretty sure one of our rims got bent but were still able to drive it. We arrived with no food since we planned to go to dinner and shop but did not dare to take our vehicle out again. Joel's mother took me to a mini mart to get food and drink in her big truck since we would otherwise have no dinner or anything to drink...we much appreciated this and it was very kind of her. When I say washed out road, I mean it looked like an earthquake had occurred and I could stand in the washed out sections and it was almost knee deep. A message to warn of us what the rains had caused would have been helpful and necessary as our wine tour guide said she had not had to go up a road like that before with her large van and she lives in the Valley. Overall, I would stay again during certain times of year if the issues were resolved. Not being able to flush soiled toilet paper for 3 nights is a big deal for many people and it should be in the listing as a glamping type accommodation.

Great place! The house itself is very nice but we really loved the outdoor area! Weather was perfect at night for a fire on the huge porch. Tons of space to hang out. We all had a great time.
