3BR Villa in San Miguel de Allende

Patrick

Excellent, 5 months ago

Beautiful home, would recommend!

Casa de dos vidas is large, well appointed with a beautiful exterior courtyard. We were very comfortable there and we were happy to accommodate several guests overour four-week stay. Everything worked fine and having a weekly housecleaning was a bonus. Some things to note: Two bedrooms have double beds, one has twins. There are pump splits in the two larger bedrooms, which we needed on the cooler nights There is a uphill walk the Centro, good for exercise but buses are available And Ubers are easy to get, as are taxis (cheap, too.) All in all a great stay. I would’ve like a good cafe close by but the better restaurants and cafes are a walk away.

You feel at home. Super friendly hosts :).

Thank you Mariana

Our trip to San Miguel de Allende was to celebrate my birthday and Día de Muertos, and staying at Casa Las Dos Vidas made it unforgettable. The home is in lovely Colonia San Rafael, about a 15-minute walk to the Jardín—close enough to enjoy the energy of town but quiet enough to relax at the end of the day. The house was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The uphill walk to the center isn’t bad at all, but when we wanted a break, a taxi was only about 80 pesos (around $4 USD). Alejandro was fantastic—friendly, quick to respond, and always helpful. Everything in the home is clearly labeled and easy to use, which made settling in a breeze. Enjoy the humming birds the love the hot pink Mandevilla vines on the rock wall, plus you have fresh rosemary, lavender and a large very productive lime tree available for your use. We absolutely loved our stay and would come back to Casa Las Dos Vidas in a heartbeat!

Casa las Dos Vidas was the perfect place for my visit. With a well equipped and spotless kitchen, it was easy to stock up on food with a trip to City Market, La Comer and it's an easy walk to Gil's Market in Guadeloupe and the two larger SMA Markets - San Juan de Dios, just a few blocks away and the Ignacio Ramirez market, which connects to the not-to-be-missed Artisan's Market. It was equally easy to eat out at great prices with so many quality and well priced restaurants within 15 - minutes' walk. I'm already missing Inside Cafe's grilled cheese sandwiches on Insurgentes and Chiles in Nogada at El Pegaso. Bellas Artes, the Biblioteca, Cine Bacco, Pro Musica and Teatro Santa Ana and Teatro Angela Peralta offered great places for enjoying live performances and evenings out. As a woman traveling alone, I used taxis for nighttime events and felt safe and secure in my casa. The nights were quiet aside from the nightime birds and celebrations on special days. I want to return!

Thank you so much Jen, I hope we will see you next year.

Casa Dos Vidas was a wonderful option. It is much nicer than the pictures represent. Spotlessly clean and well appointed furnishings. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom, which was perfect for our group of friends. Alejandro was extremely helpful and was quick to answer any questions. He was also provided wonderful recommendations for restaurants and supermarkets. We would definitely stay at Casa Dos Vidas again and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay out of the noise and congestion of the “Centro” but close enough to walk…max 15 minutes.

The House was clean, quite nicely decorated, and the Host accommodated our request for an early check in. We, however, did not have an entirely enjoyable experience. We knew of course that the House would not have air conditioning, however the House was described as "always fresh, even in the hottest summer." This is wishful thinking and misleading. We had planned to stay for 14 days with three couples joining us for portions of our stay. One couple had to leave after just one night due to the excessive heat and we too left after just 12 days. Future Guests who plan to say in this House would be wise to consider the projected temperatures in San Miguel during their stay. We were also disappointed that the Host felt compelled to make misrepresentations to Airbnb in seeking to justify what we regarded as a clearly invalid damage reimbursement claim. We have NEVER received any type of complaint involving Airbnb. Airbnb correctly concluded that we were not liable.

We loved staying at Casa Las Dos Vidas. The house tastefully decorated and all of the rooms were comfortable and large enough so we never felt cramped, even when another couple spent a week with us. The neighborhood had everything we needed within walking distance and cabs were numerous and easy to get. The staff was very responsive and we found the house exceeded our expectations. We especially enjoyed sitting on the patio which got a tremendous amount of sunlight. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone looking to spend time in San Miguel.

This charming house in San Rafael was a wonderful place to see and appreciate San Miguel de Allende. The location is a short walk to the heart of the city, the Jardin. It is close to major markets and we enjoyed the convenience of the small speciality stores nearby -- bakeries, a fish store, fruit and vegetable stores, and really great restaurants all within walking distance. The house is very inviting, clean, light filled and comfortable. The two flat panel TVs provided adequate entertainment. The three bedrooms and three baths make it a spacious place for several visitors. The interior patio garden with lovely flowers and hummingbirds was a real plus. The kitchen was well equipped and the washer/dryer were much appreciated. It was very easy to check-in and check-out and we got immediate responses from Alejandro whenever we had a question.

I like it in general nice place , the only detail were the beds were not the best and did not have a king bed

Host Response

I regret that, however I comment the following: The beds are new and of high hotel quality, the house is two years old and everything in it is practically new. The size of the beds is proportional to the size of the rooms in order to leave movement space for suitcases and other travel items and for comfort.

Very nice home with plenty of room to spread out and relax, cook or do whatever you desire, we really enjoyed our stay. Only downside was proximity to the main part of SMA, about 1/2 a mile and uphill, but the walk to and from helped us work off some of the amazing food and drinks we had during our week long visit! Would stay here again, especially for longer stays where you need the extra space. The washer/dryer were also a plus!!

Host Response

Thank you. Yes, unfortunately, San Miguel is an up and down with narrow streets hill town. Thank you for staying with us.

Outstanding home. SPARKLING CLEAN--probably the cleanest AirBNB we have ever stayed in. The layout is perfect and roomy. The decorations are gorgeous--I want to get some of the lamps, mirrors, and frames that the home had. Pay attention to the dimensions of the garage if you do bring a car. We had to park our SUV very carefully and slowly, and only had a few CM to spare. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you might need. The garden was perfect to relax in the afternoons, and listen to the rain every evening. About a 12 minute walk to the Centro, but with our toddler we got a cab a few times for only 50 pesos. We live in Mexico, and hope to return to this very same AirBNB.

The house is perfect in condition, very comfortable and with great taste, the situation is very good. Just a review of the existing sanitary cordon for the pandemic.

Host Response

Hi Francisco José, I thank you very much for your review, as far as the cordon is concerned, you are absolutely right, I explain: the municipal government is the one that distributes the codes with a cost (you'll imagine). And it turns out that on many occasions they are invalid. I'm really sorry that this happened to you. It didn't happen to the previous tenants (although that doesn't help), but that's how they are. While it is good for them to cordon the city, they do so with lousy digital verification system.

If you have a time in San Miguel de Allende, don't hesitate to contact San Miguel de Allende for a moment. Service, cleanliness and attention will not disappoint.

This was a terrific apartment for our family vacation (me, my wife, and three young children - ages 4, 7, and 10). The spaces are stylish and thoughtfully laid out. The common spaces, in particular, were great. We made ample use of the courtyard, where the parents enjoyed evening wine while the kids lounged in the living room watching cartoons on the internet-connected TV. The 3 bedrooms and bathrooms were also very nice and allowed everyone ample privacy. The 15 minute walk into the city center was easy and scenic. Overall, we had a great experience at this apartment. We have stayed at AirBnb's throughout the world and I can say that this apartment provides an outstanding value for the quality.
