5BR Condo in Mexico City

Saloua

Good, 4 weeks ago

We had a lovely week The place is spacious, ideal for our group of 10. In a nice neighborhood, close to transportation, shops and restaurants. Communication with Ana was excellent.

We had such a lovely time in Roma Sur! From the lively neighborhood, spacious apartment, and ease of getting to public transit, it was the perfect stay for our joint milestone birthday celebration. We ended up attending "El Fantasma de la Opera" at the community theater down the street on our first night and enjoyed getting to know the neighborhood. Other reviews have mentioned this, but there is another building with the same address as the Airbnb a couple blocks away which can be confusing the first time you arrive. Luckily the first part of our group arrived during the afternoon so had time in the daylight to sort out the address confusion. The ceiling fans in the bedrooms were a godsend on the hottest nights. We had some minor issues with ants getting in after rainstorms but that is hard to avoid and the hosts said they would call an exterminator when we mentioned it. A great place to stay with a group that facilitated group hangouts but also private bedrooms and bathrooms!

Overall, we had a great stay and appreciated many things about the property. The space was nicely furnished, comfortable, and well laid out. The location was convenient, and the neighbourhood felt safe and peaceful. The hosts were also very responsive and did their best to address any concerns that came up during our stay. There were a couple of issues during our visit. We experienced an ant infestation, as well as a leaky sink. Ana, the host, did help to take care of both issues as soon as she could, which we appreciated. Thank you. Overall, would still recommend this place - it was good for a big group :)

Everything was great. The hosts were excellent. The only downside was the very slow Wi-Fi signal.

Host Response

An unfair and unfortunate rating of only three stars. I'm very surprised because the communication seemed friendly to me, and I offered to fix the internet issue, to which the guest said that she preferred that I do it at check-out. I even agreed to store luggage even though we don't offer that service.

Very spacious place, perfect for 9 people. Also very central to the city. Only issue was one of the upstairs bathrooms had some flies inside but other than that everything was great. Definitely recommended!

Host Response

All of these matters could have easily been clarified or solved through communication during your stay rather than only being mentioned afterward in a complaint. Good communication is essential, and we are always available to assist our guests whenever they reach out.

I don’t feel this place was as advertised. It was not clear on how many stairs there were and we had 2 guests with mobility issues. Apt is old and desperately needs maintenance; broken restroom tiles, unstable restrm sink, leaking showers & sink, uncomfortable beds, especially in downstairs room. Loud street noise. Contacted them weeks in advance about their broken washer and they said it would be repaired before we got there and it was not. They only supplied 9 guests with 1 bath towel each. That wouldn’t be a problem if we had access to launder them. I had to request clean towels after the third day. They brought us 8 more & took the used ones. One out of the 5 rooms had a tv. Kitchen seemed well equipped but we only used the refrigerator. We visit Mexico at least once yearly and although they would respond to my questions/requests will not stay here again.

Host Response

The apartment is remodeled, it's not old. Where did you see it as old? The photos are completely accurate; I'm very surprised by your perception. Regarding towels, we always provide one bath towel per guest, in addition to leaving a couple of extras. The washing machine, as I mentioned when you booked, wasn't working due to a situation beyond our control. If you come to Mexico often, you probably know that the bureaucracy can be very complicated, and the date the government was supposed to come and repair it was completely inaccurate. The photos and description show that there are stairs; it's a two-story apartment. Your attitude was rude, and it seems you don't understand how Airbnb works. It's a shame about your rating.

My friends and I really wanted to like this place, however the shared bathroom ended up flooding so bad whenever we took a shower after the first 2 nights. we had to use all the towels just to get the water up. The hot water would randomly shut off and we’d have to continuously turn it back on. The downstairs was so cold, the heaters didn’t warm it up. The place itself was nice and did look like the photos. The area is very pretty and walkable with lots of great restaurants. The hosts are responsive when it comes to answering Messages

Host Response

Elexis, if you had reported the cold to us, we would have gladly sent you extra heaters. As for the bathroom, we offered to send a plumber but we did not receive a response. Hopefully you will visit us again and it will be a better experience for you.

The neighborhood felt safe and welcoming, with kind locals enhancing our stay. There is a key needed to the building door and another for the actual apartment which made it feel super safe. Listing states that the apartment is on the first floor of the building but it is actually on the second floor. Hosts communicated excellently and promptly; during a brief city-caused water outage one night, they quickly informed us of the resolution timeline. Check-in had minor delays—a handyman fixing the door took longer than expected, towels arrived later that day, and the broken washer/dryer wasn’t repaired. Overall, a positive experience I’d recommend it for its charm and security.

Fantastic stay! The home was exactly as described and in a perfect location—walking distance to almost everything. Our group of eight (three couples and two singles) had plenty of room to spread out. Upstairs, there are four bedrooms with king size beds: two with ensuite baths and two that share a spacious bathroom. Downstairs, there’s an additional bedroom with a queen bed and its own ensuite. The kitchen was well-equipped with all the essentials, and both the living and dining areas offered plenty of seating for everyone. We felt comfortable and safe throughout our stay. Highly recommend—thank you!

The truth is that everything was perfect in the place, only one day was the one that was very bad since it was the day of our concert (the only reason we were going to Mexico City) since the door broke down and we could not get in to get a battery for our cell phones, they had to break down the door and we arrived very late to the concert unfortunately. Outside it's a good place

accommodation x 7 days, the property complies with what it advertises, my family liked it, in the middle of our stay a situation arose that was not contemplated according to the host, maintenance work according to the building workers, the owners were notified, in short it seemed like misinformation but we had no water for 1 day and part of the other, which was a challenge, since we were traveling with minors and older adults, Ana and Eduardo apologized, refunded us the amount of one night and sent a few complimentary drinks, although our need was more to have water for washing hands, teeth and toilet. We kept in touch with Ana and Eduardo at all times and they were attentive to the situation. I would stay here again.

We had a great stay at this apartment! It was clean, comfortable, and met all of our family’s needs. The location was easy to get to and made a great home base for exploring the area. We especially enjoyed how walkable the neighborhood was with shops, restaurants, and parks all nearby. The check-in process was smooth, and everything was just as described. We’d definitely recommend this place to other families and would stay here again!

We stayed at the Piyoli House during a family trip to Mexico City & we were very happy with our stay! The apartment was exactly as described, organized, and clean. It offered everything we needed for our stay and more. We were walking distance from great cafes, restaurants, and stores. The neighborhood was very safe and we had zero safety concerns during our entire stay. The host was responsive and even provided recommendations. We would stay here again!

Piyoli House was fantastic! We had a group of 9 and it was spacious, stylish, and comfortable. The neighborhood is great- super walkable with tons of restaurants, cafes, and shops around. The breakfast place directly below is excellent and we ate there at least 3 times. The house had plenty of linens, blankets, and towels, and the kitchen has plenty of dishware and is stocked with the basics. As is common when traveling throughout South America, the water pressure is fairly low and the hot water comes and goes depending on who else has the water on at the same time, but it was totally fine. Really can't complain about anything, it was great!

My family and I enjoyed Eduardo’s place. It looks as described in the website. The place was very nice and clean. The house has a lot amenities. Has everything a family needs to be comfortable. It feels as your own house. We felt safe walked around in the neighborhood. There are a lot of restaurants, cafes, close to the house and the Paleteria Michoacana is just in the corner. We loved Eduardo’s place and we definitely will plan to come back. Thank you for giving us the experience of being in a such a beautiful place.

We had an amazing stay at Casa Piyoli! The home was perfect for our family of 7. It was big, more than enough bedrooms, with great common areas for us to come together. The hosts were so accommodating and very responsive, even making sure they were available when we arrived well past midnight! The instructions were clear and the hosts made everything so easy. They even provided us with a crib, a high chair, and even a baby bath for our infant! The kitchen and whole condo were well stocked. One thing to note is that it was a longer walk to Parque Mexico if you plan to spend a lot of time in Condessa, but we loved the quiet neighborhood and coffee options so okay for us. One other downside is that the WiFi barely worked throughout the apartment but given how responsive the hosts were with everything i am sure they will fix it soon!

Excellent accommodation conditions, it matches the description at 100. I 100% recommend.

We stayed at Casa Piyoli for 5 weeks and had a great time. The kitchen is well equipped, the house is beautiful and comfortable, and the street noise is not that bad for Mexico City. The neighborhood is safe and walkable and has a ton of great restaurants in walking distance. The house and neighborhood are also very kid friendly. Lots of playgrounds and parks nearby. The hosts were very helpful and gave us great local recommendations. I would stay there again — I probably will.

We had a pleasant stay, the apartment was very nice and comfortable, We would definitely like to come back and stay here :)

We had a wonderful stay at Eduardo’s! The place was exactly as described - so spacious that all 5 guests got their own bedroom and almost everyone had their own bathroom which was a huge perk. Plenty of glassware and plates if needed. Can’t say enough good things about the neighborhood as well - so charming and both quiet and lively. Great energy. Walking distance to Condesa, maybe a bit further to Roma Norte but an easy Uber ride. The only downsides were the carpet in the family room seem to not have been vacuumed so there were some crumbs. And we happen to be there during an unprecedented heat wave and the house got quite hot bc there was no AC. There were 3 fans available and we requested more and Ana (co-host) was able to find some for us so we appreciated that effort. It sounds like after our visit they were installing ceiling fans which should help. Overall, great stay and perfect for our group. Would recommend!

What a wonderful property hosted by Eduardo. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly return to the same location in the future. This property sits on the second floor, or depending on where you live (one story above ground floor). There is no elevator-as such, if you have heavy luggage, you will need to drag it up to the second floor by hand. Also, based on my conversations with numerous Uber drivers during our stay, air conditioning is not a normal thing in CDMX so if you visit in the summer months, just know that you might be in for some very warm nights. The hosts have provided fans so that at least there is some air circulation. This property is located in the quiet area, just south and west of Roma Sur and perfectly situated for those relatively peaceful nights. Just know that getting a rideshare may take you up to 10 minutes. We used Uber almost exclusively without issues.
