6BR Villa in Valle de Guadalupe

Elliot

Terrible, 4 weeks ago

The house did not match the expectations I had based on the listing. The house was not thoroughly cleaned. The kitchen was rundown with a barely functional stove and faucet falling apart. The water pressure was extremely low in multiple bathrooms. Some showers don’t drain efficiently and have steps that are a slip hazard. The pool was dirty and can only be used before 8:00pm. There are no fans, just a tiny AC in one of the living rooms. The city shut off the water during our stay, which host was able to help resolve. I notified the host of the inaccurate listing during our stay and was told they were not real issues. I don’t recommend staying here. Find somewhere cheaper and nicer.

Very big house, well equipped

This was our 2nd year staying here the house is big and beautiful. Our group was all men for our annual fishing trip and Ana went out of her way (thank you) to help coordinate food shopping and preparations for our cookouts. This is top service and will definitely be back next year. Thank you again Ana!!

He was always attentive to us; the house is very comfortable and spacious for hosting large groups. The only point to consider is the residential complex's rules, as you can only be outside until 10:00 p.m., and the neighbors get very upset about noise, even though it was much earlier than that rule, so it's something to keep in mind. Another issue was that in some rooms, the hot water didn't come out or took a long time to come out; otherwise, everything was very good.

This place is a palace. 3 stories plus a cellar next to the pool. Balconies on every level. There was no shortage of beds and bathrooms. We had a group of 10 gringos and had no problem finding the address, checking in, and immediately making ourselves at home. Ana and her contact Maritza did an excellent job communicating. The kitchen has every utensil imaginable, plus a grill in the back. There is a garage we were able to keep our friend’s motorcycle, although parking on the street was just as safe. The location is in a gated community on a steep hill overlooking the ocean and city below. It’s on the north side of town so very close to Highway 3 and Valle de Guadalupe. Waking distance to Hussongs and downtown. This is the best place to stay for a weekend in Ensenada

The house is gorgeous and has a very lavish style. It is huge, open, and has tons of space. The living rooms were large with tall ceilings that made it feel even bigger. We had 11 people stay in the home and never felt crowded. The beds were comfortable, and each room conveniently had a bathroom attached. One of the double rooms is separate from the house and only accessible through the backyard which we didn't discover for a few days but it was really neat as it was its own nice private space underground. The location was perfect for shopping, dining, and nightlife. The views from the multiple balconies were breathtaking. I was VERY concerned about having no A/C but to my surprise the house NEVER felt hot. We chose this home because it had a big garage, was in a gated area, & had a security guard. Our belongings were VERY safe and we also felt protected. The house needs a good cleaning. The dishwasher didn't work, faucets were loose and leaked, and only one stove burner worked.

This house is in a great location just up the hill from the city in a gated community with gorgeous views of the ocean and the city. The breeze from the ocean is lovely and makes up for the lack of AC in the home. The house is very spacious and has some nice features such as a waterfall in the entrance and a pool that would be lovely if maintained and cleaned properly. Unfortunately, many things at the house were in need of updating, maintenance and cleaning. Not being able to enjoy the pool was a huge disappointment. The pool had algae and the filter was not working. The hot water was hit or miss. The kitchen faucet was broken. The mattresses are old, saggy and lumpy in many of the rooms and need to be replaced. Most of the bathrooms have tubs with stairs in them, which was a safety concern. We could see hand prints on the walls from previous guests that hadn’t been cleaned. One room had black mold in it. We were not given a code to the garage or a garage door opener.

Location and gated community were great, but the home had serious issues. There was no water on the 2nd or 3rd floors, and after complaining to the host, we were told how to turn on the water pump. Two days later, after getting sick of taking ice cold showers, we learned the lack of hot water was because the heater on the 3rd-floor balcony was off. Both should have been checked before guests arrived. Kitchen faucet was loose/falling off, one mattress so saggy two people rolled into the middle and had to sleep on top of each other, BBQ grill filthy with old ashes. One room had very dangerous black mold on the ceiling. One bathroom faucet shot water past the bowl, soaking me every time I used it. We were told to leave key inside and lock the front door on the way out, however the front door lock had no batteries, and there was no way to do this, so we had to lock it from inside and run out the garage as it was closing. Needs major maintenance and repairs. Photos/videos available.

Host Response

Very good people, I highly recommend it

What a great place to stay at! The house was big and had enough room for all the guests to be comfortable. Everything looked just like in the pictures, and expectations were met. Getting through security was easy, and they remembered us for the duration of our stay, making our comings and goings easy. When we arrived, we were given a tour of the place, which was very helpful. If given the option, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

My stay was superb! The house is at a prime, safe and centric location. The house is beautiful as shown in the pictures, with amazing city and ocean view. Beds are comfortable, plenty of towels in the bedrooms, kitchen has all what is needed for cooking. Ana was responsive for inquiries made, and she was opened to suggestions on upgrades to the house. I will definitely stay again.

The property was just as described, bigger than what we thought..it was perfect for our big group. We were all able to enjoy our stay feeling comfortable and safe. Our host was very attentive to all of our questions prior to our arrival and during our stay. She also checked in with us in person after our check in to make sure everything was running smoothly. We would definitely consider this home for our next big gathering.
