3BR Villa in La Paz

Excellent, 1 month ago

The host is very kind. He gave us excellent service. The house is very nice. We had a good time!

Positives: the house's unique architecture, layout, indoor-outdoor flow, private pool, & partial sea/hill views. Very close to the malecon. However, pay close attention to the outdoor shots. What looks like natural/green areas nearby is swampy/mangrove-like standing water, producing a noticeable sewage-like smell outside and inside the house, making it impossible to sit out on the patio or use the pool, which looked dirty with no sign of the pump running. Incessant barking from the many dogs in the area throughout the night and early morning became a real nuisance. There were no blackout curtains in the master bedroom. The outdoor gas bbq grates were heavily rusted and unusable for grilling. There was thick dust above the fridge and on the ledge by the master bedroom catwalk, and footprints on the wall in one bathroom. Overall, the house is lovely in concept but needs substantial maintenance and deep cleaning. We addressed concerns politely, but without fixes it felt overpriced.

The house is beautiful and it's conveniently located. It wasn't the cleanest house I've ever stayed in and unfortunately, the Internet didn't work most of the time – it's a massive house, but after much stress we were told that you have to sit literally next to the modem in order to get Internet. We chose this house because of the pool, but it was not heated and it wasn't warm enough for use while we were there. There is a coffee pot and tools for cooking, but there isn't coffee filters or other essentials, which I have a big pet peeve about. Overall, a great place, and excellent hosts (Rodolfo was the loveliest!), but the annoyances really stood out for the high price of this place.

Host Response

Hi Jessica. Thank you for your feedback. Coffee filters, bottled water, cooking oil, salt + pepper are normally provided as kitchen supplies. Apologies for not having filters available. Normally if essential supplies are missing or you run out during your stay, you can request them from Rodolfo and he will deliver them to the house. Due to all the steel and concrete in the house, the wifi signal can be weaker the farther away you are from the modem even with the mesh system in place. I will update my listing to advise future guests that the signal is strongest in the room with the modem.

Melanie's place was amazing the house is so beautiful and well maintaine. It was so private and very quiet and we felt save around the house. It was only me and my husband that stayed there and we never had a problem with anything around the house. The office that is there was a plus for my husband he was able to work and the internet was strong too. Melanie had everything you will need like towel, sheets, toilet paper, blankets in case it gets cold. The weather was so hot that the pool was perfect you don't need a heater in the Pool in La Paz in July it was 95-99 degree . We had such a great time there that defiantly we will come back and stay there again. Rodolfo was a very helpful person too.

we had a wonderful stay in La Paz. I'm adding some information you don't read on the description. First, the house is on street behind the see and the boardwalk. We could see the sea behind the trees. The house is next to a swamp and a small communication tower: you see a lot of birds, but you get also the mosquitoes (bring repellent if you want to eat outside). Second, Melanie uses the service of a local company and they are super nice. We were welcomed by Rodolfo. He was very friendly. We had a small issue during the stay and as we were connected through a direct messaging app, he was able to help immediately. Third, the house is only used as an Airbnb, as a result there are minor things that you can notice, but that are not problem per se: there is limestone buildup on all faucets, one closet door hinge needed fixing preventing us to close/open it easily. All this are small details, the house is gigantic, super clean, minimalist and design. We enjoyed our stay!

We stayed for a week, it included two couples and we found all of our needs were met and plenty of space for us to spread out. The pool was a highlight of our trip, which is what we were really desiring along with the beautiful view of the sea of Cortez. The house is very well maintained the kitchen had most amenities that anyone would need. Upon arriving, you will want to bring your own coffee, salt and pepper oil, and some of those basic food items. however if you would prefer not to cook, you’re with Other than that the other things were cooking were all available. If you’re not into cooking, there are quite a few restaurants within walking distance. Our favorite became Vrentino’s and we ate there more than once, because we loved their food and the staff very pleasant. All aspects of house was comfortable and we would go back in a heartbeat. Rodolfo was a very attentive as a local support. And Melanie was also very accommodating and super responsive during our communications.

We really enjoyed Melanie’s place. The rooms are large, water pressure is great, hosts are responsive and internet was very reliable. We do note that while it’s not listed, we did not notice that there was no TV. We usually watch a movie late night. We found ourselves wishing the pool was heated, because even though it was very warm outside the water was downright cold. We also wish there were more stocked kitchen supplies. Lastly, we wish there were more beach supplies. We did buy a beach chair and left it there so hopefully others will be able to use it. But overall the place is a good base and very comfortable.

Melanie's home is beautiful! My husband and I rented the home for a week with our two adult children and our older daughter's partner. The layout was perfect for our group. The home was clean and has a great location with several good restaurants just steps away. We last minute decided to rent a car which I highly recommend doing in La Paz. We do wish the home had been better stocked both in the kitchen, and with newer bed linens and towels. We were not able to make it through the week with enough towels and had to do laundry a few times. Additionally the WiFi was a bit spotty in some areas of the home. We did appreciate how responsive Melanie and her property manager Rodolfo were both before we arrived and during the trip. They were both a pleasure to work with. Overall we had a wonderful experience and will certainly be returning to La Paz!

This is our 2nd time staying a Melanie’s house and it was perfect like the first time. The house is clean, spacious and every bedroom has its own bathroom. The kitchen is perfect and has everything you need to cook. The pool was amazing because the heat was strong. We always feel safe and sleep very comfortable. We have teenagers and they love this house because there is great wifi! Communication with Rodolfo the house manager is great because he’s always available and very nice. 100% recommend this house for a wonderful vacation in La Paz!

Rodolfo, the Property Manager was amazingly friendly and accommodating. He recommended great spots to eat, explained the entire house. During our stay, Rodolfo was there to answer any questions, and help in any way. We loved the location, as it was very private, at the end of the male con, which is close to the action, but not too close. La Paz is straight out of a romance novel, everyone friendly, family focused, and this home is the right setting for such a visit...Highly recommend

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this Melanie's FANTASTIC home. I honestly can't say enough good things about it. From the moment I booked, Melanie was incredibly responsive. Her property manager, Rodolfo, is also wonderful. He was proactive in communicating with me and very kind. He made the entire experience so seamless and enjoyable. The location of this Airbnb was an absolute gem. It was situated in a prime area that perfectly balanced convenience and tranquility. I was pleasantly surprised by how walkable everything was. The neighborhood felt very safe and private even when walking home in the dark. The home itself was simply stunning. It was exactly like the pictures while also being better than the pictures. So modern and sleek. I would stay here over and over and over again. Thank you Melanie and Rodolfo for a beautiful experience in La Paz!

Melanie’s place in La Paz was perfect for our group of 6. The place felt private, secure, safe, and was well-appointed. The location means you are a little bit away from the hustle and bustle, which was ideal for us. The centre of town was a short walk, and the esplanade/malecon was minutes away. Ocean views, the private pool, gas fireplace, and well sized bedrooms+bathrooms made this a memorable trip. Special thanks to Melanie and Rodolfo for being accomodating, helpful and responsive.

Perfect stay! We had a great vacation in lovely La Paz, at Melanie's house. It's a big property, perfectly combining good style & comfort. It's got 3 big bedrooms, each with full bathrooms and A/C. Our favorite area was downstairs in an open space where the kitchen, dining, & living rooms blend in with the patio. Large window doors open up to a lovely outdoor area where you can relax, dine, grill, and enjoy a swim. The pool is not heated, so be prepared to dip in cool water unless it's the warmer months of the year. The house is located in a gated complex, safe and private. Even though other reviews complained about dogs barking, we heard nothing at night. It's within walking distance to the pier and only a few minutes away by car to restaurants, the marina, and beaches. Special mention to Melanie (owner) & Rodolfo (property manager), who were very helpful and responsive whenever we needed to communicate with them. Thanks! The check-in/out process was flawless. Can't wait to be back!

We stayed here with a total of 6 guests and it was beyond perfect. Our second time to La Paz and it exceeded our expectations once again! Location of the home is amazing, the house itself is great especially for families or couples as each bedroom has its own bathroom, a beautiful kitchen and outside grill for cooking meals at home if you prefer, and sunshine all day and evening. A tip to make your stay more enjoyable; bring earplugs! Unfortunately one of the neighbours leave their dogs chained up all day and night and they barked constantly. My boyfriend and I slept with a fan on so it didn’t bother us but another couple had a hard time sleeping without white noise to cover the barking.

My friends and I found ourselves at a less-than-desirable Airbnb in La Paz. I reached out to Melanie about her beautiful listing, which just happened to be available for our remaining days. She replied right away, allowing us a quick viewing before we committed, and we were so thankful. The property saved our trip! The home is lovely and spacious, with a great outdoor space and a well-equipped kitchen. Rodolfo checked us in and recommended a great cafe a short walk away. Seriously, try the chai tea! There are lovely views of the ocean to one side of the home. As the other reviews mentioned, at the back of the house, there’s a tower and a pond, but it was always interesting to watch the ducks and activity below. The property more than makes up for that. The bedrooms are comfortable and clean, and the master has an incredible view from the bed. Thank you, Melanie, Rodolfo and Andy, for saving our trip!

Melanie is a great host! Always immediately responsive as is Rodolpho who welcomes you to the home. The home is beautiful! Very modern, clean, and comfortable! We loved that we could walk to tons of restaurants along the waterfront. We didn't get to enjoy the pool as much as we had hoped due to it being rainy during our visit but we did enjoy having it nonetheless and I am sure it would be key during the warmer La Paz months.

Lovely house and pool, shame about the view. As others have commented, the house is beautifully designed and very modern with glass, steel, wood and polished cement. We stayed for 4 days and really liked it. We used the pool every day. The only unfortunate aspect of the property is the main view from the downstairs terrace. The house is next to a large rubble pit where trucks dump rocks, earth and organic matter. The pit is beside a radio transmission station which has 2 masts - one huge one with lots of support cables and one smaller one. Apart from that, we liked everything else and appreciated the flexibility shown by the owner over checkin and checkout times.

Melanie’s home was perfect for our family! The location is close to town and the malecón. There’s private parking and gated. The home has an amazing pool we used everyday. The view from the home is awesome. Comfortable beds and a.c. in every room. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. There’s also an outdoor grill area. It was the best vacay. Nothing bad to say about the house at all. And Rodolfo was the nicest host, the communication from beginning to end was great. This is the perfect home in La Paz!

Melanie's property was perfect. For my 35th birthday trip we had a truly magical stay! The entire experience was flawless from the moment we met the co-host/property manager to check in, to our last day! Everything felt personalized and the hosts were so easy to communicate with. They provided several restaurant, shopping and transportation recommendations among other things. The house was gorgeous, clean, had everything we needed. It was centrally located which made it easy to get to everything in town. The pool was perfect for those hot La Paz days and the air conditioning and wifi worked well which made it easy for some of us to work remote. This was by far one of my best Airbnb stays and we'll definitely be back soon! Thanks Melanie & Rodolfo!

We absolutely loved our stay at Melanie’s! She was very responsive and her place was mesmerizing! Melanie’s place was clean, beautiful, and had many features that made us feel right at home (i.e., grilling tools, fully equipped kitchen, extra towels and sheets, shampoo/conditioner, fire pit). One minor thing is the washer/dryer did not work well—perhaps we didn’t use it correctly; nevertheless, it wasn’t a major dealbreaker for us (and didn’t let Melanie/Rodolfo know). Melanie’s place is situated in the best part of La Paz in my opinion. You are able to see the ocean from her house. It is a 5 minute walk to a delicious breakfast place called Vrentino and from the Malecon. It was about a 25 min drive to Balandra and Tecolote and 1.5hr drive to Todos Santos. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay, felt safe (gated community with only two other houses around) and hope to return to Melanie’s in the near future! Thank you!

Fantastic house in a great location. Close to the main strip of restaurants, and the pool outdoor area was very private. Will be returning in the future!

Let the outside in with this home in easy walking or biking distance to the entire La Paz malecón. Three large, bright bedrooms each with their own full baths makes having guests or multiple couples easy and comfortable. Great location overall, although like much of Mexico, there’s a weedy gravel pit next door to this gated, high-end neighborhood. We felt safe and comfortable here, with great support and response from the owner’s team whenever we had questions or needed anything.

First and foremost, Melanie is an AMAZING host. My fiancee and I booked her place not realizing that La Paz was a city and not a small beach town. LOL! Our bad!! Despite this fact, she was willing to refund 3 of the 4 days we booked without any issue at all. That was not required and was very kind of her. Secondly, her house is amazing!! Super beautiful and unique with architectural touches that will keep you looking around. Everything is open, spacious, clean and organized. It's located just up the road from the ocean/beach so you could easily walk there. Also there were lovely shops and restaurants right along the strip that are also easily walkable. Our only issue is that we showed up shortly after some rains which caused it to be pretty buggy in the area. I recommend bringing some bug spray for sitting outside and maybe even some citronella candles to keep them out of the immediate area. But I've heard that most of the year there are no bugs at all, so just ask the host if that's a concern. All in all, it was a 10/10 stay minus the uninvited guests.
