7BR Villa in Mexico City

Excellent, 2 weeks ago

Felt welcomed and the place was very even lovelier than the photos šŸ’•

The accommodation is spacious and was comfortable for our group. We really appreciate the host's flexibility regarding the check-in and check-out times. As points to consider, although 7 rooms were advertised, one is located separately on the rooftop, so in practice the layout feels like 6 main rooms. In addition, there were only 2 showers for the entire home, which can be a problem for large groups. We also found some dead cockroaches in one of the bathrooms and in the living room, so it would be advisable to do more cleaning and fumigation. Overall, we had a nice stay and especially appreciated the host's attention and flexibility.

This is my second time renting from the Hosteando team and they are EXCELLENT! With my complicated stay (we had 9 people coming internationally), they handled the logistics and our needs so well. This house is so picturesque and it was the perfect space to host a group of women. This team really came in clutch as we used their recommendations for a cook, babysitter, and message therapist who were all wonderful. Would book again and again!

We had a great stay at this home. It’s spacious, beautifully decorated, and was perfect for having our whole family under one roof. We especially appreciated how responsive the hosts were—when the water heater went out, they had someone there and it was fixed within the hour. That level of communication really made a difference. The only small thing to note is that a couple of the bathroom drains had a mild mildew smell, but it wasn’t a major issue and didn’t take away from our overall experience. We truly enjoyed our stay and would come back.

Host Response

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience 😊 We’re so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that the home was comfortable for your whole family. We also really appreciate your feedback about the drains, we’re already looking into it to make sure everything’s in perfect condition for future stays. We’d be delighted to host you again!

Our group of friends had a wonderful experience staying at this home during our trip to Mexico City. From the moment we booked, the hosts were kind, professional, and exceptionally responsive. They were quick to answer our questions and made sure everything was ready for our arrival. The home was clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully prepared, which set the tone for a great start to our trip as we walked into the space. While we did encounter a few minor facility issues—such as a tricky kitchen sink, stairwell bathroom sink that sprayed water, and a slow-draining shower—the hosts were extremely responsive and addressed all concerns within 24 hours. The house felt secure, safe and safety was never a concern for our stay. The location was extremely walkable and this home was a perfect base for Mexico City. We are grateful for the host’s responsiveness we and the memories we made here. We would recommend this stay to others looking for a nice, comfortable, and well-located home

We had a fantastic stay this home was perfect for our group of 10, which included three different families. There was plenty of space for everyone to relax and feel comfortable. The layout was ideal for both privacy and together time, and the amenities were exactly what we needed. The home was clean, well-stocked, and exactly as described. The common areas were great for gathering and playing games. The location was convenient, and the neighborhood felt safe and welcoming. Our host was responsive and thoughtful, making an early check-in process smooth and stress-free. We truly appreciated the extra touches that made our stay feel special. We’d absolutely recommend this place to other large groups or families it was a wonderful experience!

Patty was lovely and available. Our plane arrived before the 4PM checkin--and she made it easy for us to drop off our bags. The housekeepers were there for a long time and did a complete job, but still the house was pretty dirty. When My granddaughter ran around the house barefoot and her feet were immediately blackened. The bigger issue was that the main bathroom on the floor with 3 bedrooms had a major sewage-air backwash. It seems the Mexico City pipes are old and sewage was backing up into the primary bathroom to making it almost impossible to use. Taking a shower or a bath in that room was always unpleasant. Patty tried twice to fix it ---and we sent her some youtube video suggestions---and once she had the intake pipes re-sealed it was somewhat better. We did have to leave the windows open in the bathroom so we didn't breath in sewage air, but that was difficult to do during the colder nights. We understand charming Mex City has some infrastructure issues, but

Host Response

Hi Deb, Thank you for your kind words about Patty and for sharing your experience. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding throughout your stay. We’re sorry to hear about the cleanliness concerns and the bathroom issue. While we strive to maintain high standards, it’s clear we fell short in this instance. We’ve addressed these concerns with our cleaning team to ensure a more thorough job moving forward. Regarding the plumbing issue, we recognize how frustrating this must have been, and we appreciate your suggestions. Unfortunately, older city infrastructure can sometimes present unexpected challenges, but we have since taken additional steps to fully resolve the problem. We value your feedback and your understanding of the realities of Mexico City’s charm and quirks. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again under better circumstances. Best, Hosteando

Amazing stay! Perfect for a bachelorette or birthday.

Our stay was quite disappointing. Unfortunately, we encountered a persistent sewage smell throughout the property, which made it uncomfortable. Additionally, we experienced no water for two mornings in a row for several hours, forcing us to leave the premises to find public restrooms. The condition of the space was also not as advertised; it looked older than the photos, with broken tiles exposing holes in the floor and peeling paint. Even though the team was very responsive and tried to ease the situation with sweet treats and a complimentary cleaning (we did not accept this given that we wouldn’t be home during the cleaning), overall, we were very unsatisfied with our experience.

Host Response

Hi Seema, We’re truly sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately, we did experience an unexpected water supply issue during your visit, which affected multiple homes in the area. We completely understand how inconvenient this must have been and did our best to respond as quickly as possible. Thankfully, this issue has since been fully resolved. Regarding the condition of the property, we strive to maintain our space as accurately as possible to our listing photos, but we appreciate your feedback and will take it into account for future improvements. Our goal is always to provide a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and we regret that we fell short in your case. We truly appreciate your recognition of our team’s responsiveness and efforts to make things right. While we wish your experience had been better, we value your feedback and will continue working to improve. Best, Hosteando

Overall, we were not pleased with our stay in this home. When we arrived, we couldn't shower due to lack of water pressure. The host said it was a "city" issue and that it was not their fault. However, the water pressure in the sinks and in one tub was perfectly normal, as were nearby restaurants/bars. The water in the showers was not draining properly so you had to stand in someone else's dirty shower water or wait for a half hour. Further, the listing says there are 7 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. But actually 2 of the bedrooms and 1 bath are on the roof of the building. You have to go outside to access those rooms, and those guests are isolated outside the main house, in very tiny rooms. The remaining 5 bedrooms inside the main home must share the other 2 (barely working)showers. Lastly, the half bathroom under the stairs had a strong & foul odor. Patty and team did send plumbers for the water issue. We appreciated their communication but were disappointed with so many issues.

Host Response

Hi Adrienne, We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. During your stay, we did experience an unexpected water pressure issue, which was indeed related to city supply fluctuations at the time. However, we completely understand how frustrating this must have been, and we worked quickly to send plumbers and resolve the situation as best as possible. Fortunately, this issue has since been fully resolved. Regarding the layout of the home, we do our best to accurately describe the spaces in our listing, including the rooftop rooms. We’ll review our description again to ensure clarity for future guests. We appreciate your feedback and are always looking to improve. Thank you for staying with us, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future. Best, Hosteando.

Valeria & Patty provided very detailed instructions that made for a smooth check-in/out for our group. For the questions we had prior to & during the trip, they were very responsive. Their place was located in a great area! We walked to many of the restaurants & sites we visited by day & used car ride-share services in the evening. Our group enjoyed our stay here & the beds were very comfortable! We recommend staying here during your next stay in Mexico City.

Everything about this place was fantastic. The location was really central and walkable, it felt extremely safe, the interior felt beautiful and authentic while having all the modern amenities you'd need. The furniture was beautiful and clean (felt out of a magazine!). We have nothing but good things to say about the house and location, but the REAL best part were the hosts. Val was so friendly and kind, responded to questions well and above her job description within 5 minutes, and felt genuinely invested in making sure we had a good time. It makes a really big difference on a trip like this to have someone you trust and who is invested in your well being, and this group went above and beyond. I would recommend to any type of group - a family or a group of friends, and would come back without hesitation. Thank you for such a fun trip!

My friends and I loved our stay at this Airbnb and the neighborhood it’s located in. I’d say we stay here again; however, I believe that the bed my friend and I shared has bedbugs as we woke up to many bites on our feet and ankles. We flagged this to the owner and they said ā€œthey’d look into it ā˜ŗļøā€ and didn’t show much sympathy or offer any compensation. This issue was with the king bed on the second floor overlooking the courtyard in the back. The place was beautiful and the neighborhood is both walkable and gorgeous. The Airbnb really matches the pictures. The sewage smell the others mention is apparent downstairs as mentioned. This was the nicest Airbnb that I found when searching for a place to stay, but more effort needs to be put into the cleanliness.

Obsessed. Absolutely stunning rare gem of an aesthetic but comfortable home in a perfect location walkable to all the trendiest, hip, beautiful restaurants, cafes and parks. The home was on a quiet street and was super conveniently located in Condesa. The beds were super comfortable with incredibly soft sheets. The last two bedrooms are on the rooftop so you have to go outside on to the roof to access them but there is a restroom on the rooftop so it really wasn't an issue. The hosts were fantastic - super responsive, let us drop off luggage early, and provided an amazing thorough list of recommendations! We came as a group of 13 women for my bachelorette party and this home really fulfilled all our needs. We did a lot of sharing of the 2.5 restrooms with showers in the main house within the 13 of us but we were all comfortable with it/each other so it wasn't an issue.

This house is beautiful but may not suit all groups. I'm giving it 5 stars for excellent communication with the hosts. We were a group of 10 women staying in CDMX for 3 nights for a bachelorette weekend. The house has 3 floors. The ground level includes a bedroom with a king bed, a bedroom with 2 queen beds, a toilet under the stairs, a small handicap-accessible shower, a room with a toilet and sink, a kitchen, a patio, and a dining room. The second floor has two rooms with king beds, one room with 2 queens, and a full bath with poor water pressure. The rooftop has an outdoor sitting area, a bedroom with a twin bed, a bedroom with a full bed and twin bed, and a small full bath with the best shower. There's also a washer and dryer. Only one ceiling fan worked, making rooms stuffy. There were dead cockroaches on arrival, a persistent sewer smell, and inadequate amenities. When it rained water streamed from the rooftop down the stairway to the second floor. For $4000 we expected better.

Great house

Very well located property in lovely Condesa. Design is great, house is beautiful, however, there are some maintenance issues that I have not experienced in CDMX before. The bathrooms only have excrutiatingly hot water. The upstairs bathroom is odd in that every single surface is hot. The floor, the toilet, the bath tub, everything. There is not really any fix. The price is fair, the staff is great, but would stay elsewhere in the future.

Biggest pluses: • Great communication • Cool temperature interior • Relatively quiet neighborhood • Historical architecture • Filtered water • Close to many restaurants/bars • Helped save my family vacation with a last-minute booking The host gave us a tour of the house and made us feel right at home with a bottle of Mezcal. Throughout the stay, someone was always monitoring the chat, ensuring we could communicate, even over the Christmas holiday. We got a lower-than-usual price, probably because it was a last-minute and available booking. The house boasts beautiful Spanish/Mexican architecture and high-quality furniture. The neighborhood is relatively quiet, except for a local dog that barks when outside. Things to consider: • Only one full bathroom • Water temperature can be unpredictable • The roof is great, but occasionally there are whiffs of the local sewer system • The back patio does not have this issue and is amazing for both morning coffee and late-night drinks.

Great place to stay in La Condesa. A lot of bedrooms and places to sit and visit, but the showers could use some work.

We had a great stay here, in the middle of everything and super walkable. The place was bigger than it looked in the pictures and super cozy. We were worried about the heat in Mexico City but found the place kept pretty cool with windows open (carful of bugs if opening) and all the rooms we used also had fans. The kitchen was great and we all liked the downstairs bathroom better as the water temp was easier to adjust but both were very functional. The beds were so comfortable! We all definitely slept well and found that the rooms in the back were quieter with less street noises. It’s generally a quiet street but there’s always someone doing something out there. Overall we loved our stay and would absolutely come back! Hosts were also awesome and accommodating which was really nice!
