3BR Condo in Oaxaca City

Excellent, 10 months ago

A great deal from day of the dead - a shame that the sound in the living area echoes through the rest of the hotel, we had noise complaints whilst quietly playing cards

Our stay was excellent. Well-equipped apartment and excellent service.

What a great spot this was for our family gathering! Very spacious living/dining area where the kids could have fun and the adults could kick back. The panoramic view of the city and mountains was spectacular … and with the Jacaranda trees in blossom, it was priceless! Very convenient location. Pablo was an accommodating host. At the location, Alondra was very kind and helpful, bringing us water and extra pillows, keeping our bags after checkout, calling a taxi for us, etc., always with a smile and graciousness. Would definitely stay here again!

Pablo’s Place was an excellent choice for our stay. The three-bedroom space was incredibly spacious, giving everyone plenty of room to relax and enjoy their time. The addition of a pool table and poker table was a fantastic touch, ensuring that there was something for everyone—whether we wanted to unwind or have a bit of fun. The kitchen was well-equipped with enough utilities to prepare quick breakfasts each morning, which made our mornings easy and stress-free. The location was also a big plus, as it was close to the main attractions, making it convenient to explore the area. Overall, Pablo’s Place provided the perfect balance of comfort, entertainment, and practicality. Highly recommended!

This was a great place for a friends trip (6 people total). We all had our own bed, and the space is as beautiful at the pictures — really stunning views. We also really enjoyed having the pool table (we learned how to play!) and hammocks. It’s not extremely well insulated for sound and temperature, so it might be smart to bring earplugs since there can sometimes be noise from dogs, a rooster, etc. The bathroom supplies were simple. Overall, this worked very well for our group and we had a great time. Pablo made an additional copy of the key so that we could have two with us in case our group ever split up/came back separately, which was very considerate, and also accommodated both early check in and late checkout for us, which we really appreciated. Thanks so much!

Location was good in terms of the incredible view and walkable to attractions but it is by a loud road. The windows are not double glazed so you hear everything (lots of dogs and cockerels so bring your earplugs) and the windows don’t fit in the main living area which means that the floor is very dusty and dirty. The pool table, NES and Netflix were a great hit with the kids. The toilets blocked in 2 of the 5 toilets and the showers were either too hot or too cold. Pablo was responsive when we needed him. Over all a good place to stay but a little bit back packer ish

Pablo’s place is beautiful and spacious. There are five bathrooms and three large bedrooms all with private baths. But by far the most spectacular part of this place is the view. It’s incredible. The main living area is very open to the outside. It has large windows that you can open, which is lovely, but you are very much subject to the weather. We were there during a cold spell that was unusual for Oaxaca and so it was tough to stay warm, but Pablo provided lots of blankets and was very helpful. You should also plan on stocking up on some of your own amenities, like paper towels, and extra toilet paper, but I think that’s pretty normal. The location is great. It’s very quiet, with lots of nice stuff close by. Oaxaca is a very walkable city and the hotel sits in the middle of some great neighborhoods. The Zocalo is about a 20 minute walk and there’s some really pretty areas to the north of the hotel. Highly recommend.

Our family of 8 had a wonderful stay at La Terraza during Guelaguetza 2023. It is a comfortable, spacious place to stay with a large group. It takes up the entire top floor (3rd floor), and the lower floors are part of a hotel. This is convenient because the hotel is available and provides services like daily cleaning, calling taxis, providing information and answering other questions. The 3rd floor vantage gave a great view of Oaxaca and the surrounding mountains, and also provided a nice breeze that kept the main areas cool throughout the day; also a nice environment to relax. Bedrooms have great AC which keeps rooms cool. We stayed for an entire week, and this was a great home base to come back to each day; we would definitely come back again.

The terrace was very tidy and comfortable, it matched the photos very well. However, overall we had a bad experience. The terrace is on the top floor of the Hotel Santa Lucia, a detail that was not in the description. Being in a hotel, we were asked not to make too much noise, however, we did not expect that any noise could be heard throughout the hotel. There were power outages the two nights we stayed and the water was cut off during the morning. The host shared a wifi network and password that didn't match.

Host Response

The terraces are usually on the top floor. We're sorry we didn't meet your expectations, we'll work hard on your feedback to improve. Thank you for following the house rules.

The large hang out space was perfect for our group of six. It was fun to play pool, and lounge in the hammock chairs. The view is stunning, and the hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. The walk to the Zocalo is about 15 minutes, and there are tons of restaurants and shops very close by. Everything was pretty perfect - each room had its own bathroom - plenty of hot water for the showers, and the best chill zone imaginable.

The place is great and was a perfect spot for our two families to share during our visit to Oaxaca City. The view is incredible, everything in the space worked well, and the hotel staff were very helpful. They made sure we had plenty of water in 5-gal jugs. We parked on the street outside the place and had zero problems. There’s some great birding right from the Airbnb looking down on several flowering trees in the neighborhood. I would 100% recommend!

We stayed at Pablo’s place for a full month. Four of our adult children joined us the first 10 days and friends arrived to stay the remainder of the month when our children left. The place was perfect for our needs. Everyone loved the pool table, game table , and hammocks. The view is one of the best in Oaxaca providing the first glimpse of the sun each morning as the sun peaked over the mountains to greet us each day. The lights of the city are magical at night from the large windows, which can be opened wide to let in a cool breeze during the warm days. The neighborhood is residential around the hotel and we enjoyed seeing children coming and going from school and music lessons might drift up to our windows from a neighboring home. There is a small fruit market right next door and a neighborhood grocery store just down the block. All the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helped us with anything we needed. We highly recommend and would stay here again.

This place is special. Oaxaca is amazing and to have this place as homebase during our stay was just phenomenal. My wife and I traveled here with our 4 school-aged children. Oaxaca is so walkable so we spent our days walking all the streets, eating all the food, and visiting all the sites. Coming home to this unit with the pool table and cozy hammocks - all I can say is it was just special. The WiFi was a little unpredictable but that worked for us on this trip - forced no-screen time. Crack the windows to the entertainment area and wake up to the sounds of birds and cool air. The unit's location within a working hotel made it very easy to get help with any needs that arose. And they keep a 5-gallon bottle of purified water in the kitchen, which was nice. Love this place and would definitely recommend.

Pablo is great with communication and check-in is easy. Couple key things to know: Views are great and the window all open up. We loved that! Home has some open areas in the roof line (not a security or bug issue) so you can hear the busy street above and any neighbors around you. It's a bit of a walk to downtown area - downhill there and uphill back. Not ideal for older folks Neighborhood area is ok. Never felt unsafe but do wish we stayed closer to main tourist district. Home is more for college kids or a big family that's ok with mediocre bedding, showers, etc. Has 3 bedrooms and all three have double beds. Hot water took a long time for showers but it eventually got warm.

Pablos penthouse exceeded our expectations. The view is unreal, I don’t know if there’s a better one in Oaxaca. We were there with a group of friends (6 people) and it was perfect for us. Tons of space, and so many fun touches for entertainment for adults and kids! The staff was so accommodating and helped us with car rental arrangements and taxis often. All in all, everything was amazing and we’d absolutely rent again. Thanks Pablo and Santa Lucia staff, you guys were awesome!

The Penthouse has a fabulous view of the mountains and of Oaxaca. A lot of good seating choices which is not always the case in Airbnbs. We especially liked the two hammock chairs. The pool table proved to be a lot of fun. The Penthouse is the top floor of a hotel staffed by very helpful and lovely people. It is up three floors and a guest should be fit enough to walk up. We liked the location- not in the heart of the Centro but easy walks to it and other locations . Pablo is a good guy and really wants to help make sure your stay is good. The beds were very comfortable! We would definitely come back to stay here again.

Our stay was Amazing! The location of this AirBnb in my opinion is perfect, it is about .5miles from the city center at the top of a hill which means great views, close enough to walk or pay a cheap taxi fare (~50 pesos) to and from the city center, and just far enough to where you can feel relaxed at the end of a day. (It is quieter than staying right in the heart of the city) The check-in process was smooth, they already had my info, and I got my key right away. There is always somebody at the front desk at all times. This makes it feel more secured and we were also able to leave the key with the front desk when we went out to ensure we didn't lose it. The place is very big, it is the entire terrace on the third floor. My favorite thing to do every single day was to lay in the hammock after we had been out and about all day. There is a pool table, 3 hammocks, couches with TV, 3 rooms with their own bathroom and AC. Pablo was super responsive from the beginning. Even provided an amazing list of things and places recommended in the city and surrounding areas. The WiFi posted on the AirBnB site is not accurate but the correct one is in the living room area in a note (FYI). WiFi was good speeds though and it served for our basic web surfing needs. All around, I very highly recommend this place and would stay here again and/or recommend it to my friends and family if they were traveling to Oaxaca. Great location, safe, great value, large space, attentive and friendly Host, and great views.

The space is beautiful and bigger than indicated by the pictures. The views are spectacular and the windows let in a lot of cool air in the mornings and afternoons. It was a perfect space for a family gathering like we had, with several hammocks, pool table, bar, seating-TV area, and a big dining room. The availability of extra hotel rooms in the same building directly below the big terrace area is perfect if you have extra people joining your party. If you are sensitive to street noise at night or in the early morning, it would be good to take ear plugs along as there is some noise from the big cross street nearby, but it is not excessive. Also, there are fans and AC units in each of the bedrooms to create white noise.

The place is almost exactly as it looks in pictures. It’s conveniently located at a reasonable walking distance from the centro and has great views of Oaxaca. If you are traveling in a group- this is a great space!! Pablo is very responsive to any question or request. Additionally, you benefit from the airbnb sharing the hotel lobby and the receptionists can help you order taxis and are very friendly for any other questions. Do note that there is no elevator and you have to go up a couple sets of stairs to get to the apartment.

We rented this lovely place for 8 people ranging in ages 5 to 73. It was perfect for everyone! We regularly used the kitchen and loved that we could spend time together in the common area but also retreat to our private rooms. The views are magnificent, but the wifi and huge TV were also big draws for our crowd. My mom (the 73 year old) stayed inside for an entire day recovering from our tour to Monte Alban the previous day and said that she was extremely comfortable the whole time. The views, the AC, and the wifi were serious highlights for this place, not to mention the amount of space too! The hotel staff were very kind also, calling us cabs and being present for our 5 am departure time. This was the perfect place for us and if I ever have the occasion to return to Oaxaca I would absolutely come back here!

Pablo’s apartment is fantastic. The best feature is the panoramic views of the city which are breathtaking. We enjoyed the video games, pool table, card table, and hammocks which we made good use of when we were recovering from our hikes and museum trips. The hotel staff is super helpful and gave us directions, helped us order taxis, and cleaned the apartment when we were out (after asking if we wanted housekeeping). Highly recommend this apartment!

I booked this place for a family trip to Oaxaca for 5 nights. The 7 of us fit perfectly. There's plenty of space to spread out and the view of the city is amazing. Keep in mind that this is the penthouse of a hotel so you need to climb about 4 floors (no elevator). Plus, it's located on a hill so expect lots of climbing on your way back. Hotel is maybe a 2 star quality so by default the amenities are a bit rustic. However, you have everything you need, including drinking water (which came in super handy), fresh towels, toilet paper, etc. Staff was super helpful and polite, they offered to clean the room every other day. Overall a great experience, thank you for having us.

Super comfortable and spacious space, we were a family of 10 people and never felt limited by the space. The excellent location, just a 10-minute walk from the historic center, away from the noise and traffic. The rooms with their A/C unit in perfect condition ensuring a pleasant climate. Additional thanks to the people at the hotel who always helped and guided us during our visit. The view of the city is another quality of this place. 100% recommended.

If you love air, light, views, hammocks, artisanal touches and warm, friendly service, you will love Terraza De Santa Lucia. On the top floor of a small hotel, just blocks from the Zocalo (center of town), as you walk you will find local Mercados to buy fresh bread, tamales, fruit, and coffee. Once you have enjoyed your day exploring, come home, open all the big windows and look out to a beautiful sunset, sit on the hammock or play pool, chess or enjoy Netflix. You will also find clean rooms and a charming kitchen to cook your breakfast, with plenty of room for you family to stretch out. We simply did not want to leave Pablos home. Would return in a heartbeat on our next trip. Huge plus the Hotel staff will attend to anything you need and clean your rooms daily. Fantastic!

The apartment has an amazing panoramic view. The living area is huge and incredibly well furnished, with multiple places to sit, hammocks, and even a pool table. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. The apartment is on the top floor of a small hotel, and the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a third story walkup, and it is a 10-15 minute walk, pleasant but mostly uphill, to the hotel from the heart of town. But that’s the trade-off for an amazing view.

Our family spent Christmas at Pablo's apartment. There were five of us and plenty of space for us all. The views are splendid and the morning sun is welcome and warming in the living space. There are heaters in the bedrooms as the evenings can be chilly. Pablo is very responsive to messages and helpful. He checked in with us before our trip and when we arrived. My husband had a medical emergency and the staff were amazing in getting an ambulance and making sure he was taken care of. Pablo's father came by to offer us help and reassurance. The hotel staff were always helpful and welcoming and would clean the apartment on a daily basis if you wanted them to. Oaxaca is a beautiful city and it was an easy walk to Santa Domingo church and square or a short, cheap taxi ride. We ate amazing food and never left the apartment without coming across some festive celebration and music. This is a great city to visit and staying at Pablo's apartment was a pleasure.

A great choice in Oaxaca! Very comfortable beds and an unbeatable view of the city! You're close to everything but at the same time far from the noise of the city center. You just have to go up a good number of stairs, but it's always worth it when you get to that view from the terrace! We were a large group of 13 family members staying between the terrace and the rooms downstairs in the same hotel, and we were all very comfortable! We would go back to the same place without a second thought!

Where to start..... Pablo's place is amazing. Situated near the historic downtown and offering incredible views of the surrounding hillsides. Awesome kitchen, plenty of bathrooms and sweet lil bar. Great internet connection. The biggest perk of this location is that it is clean, well decorated and very SPACIOUS! There are plenty of windows throughout that let in ample natural light and when open provide great ventilation on a warm day. This is a perfect destination for larger groups; it can easily accommodate 6 guests. There is a pool table next to the bar that we really enjoyed.

On top of the word, or at least on top of Oaxaca--that's how you feel in this penthouse apartment. Enormous glass windows on two sides provide panoramic views of the city below and mountains beyond. Sunrise and sunset particularly lovely. The public space is HUGE with pool table, card table, bar area, living area w/ TV then big dining table. You could easily host a line dance party or yoga class or the like. Each of the bedrooms has its own bathroom, which is handy. Kitchen well equipped. We made breakfast every morning and dinner one night. Great value. Be prepared to walk (or use taxis). We easily clocked in 5 miles a day, between some grocery shopping and sightseeing. Very healthy way to digest all that delicious Oaxacan cuisine. Personally, I would prefer just a bit more furniture in the rooms, say, a dresser, or shelves, or pegs or luggage rack or all. Otherwise, fine. Staff downstairs could not be nicer or more helpful. It was a great place to come back to and relax after the hustle and bustle of Oaxaca's centro.
