Went with a group of 13 and everything was amazing. Edgar was always responsive and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious and was nice to have a reason to all sit together each morning. House had plenty of space, was well stocked, pool was very nice (plenty of hot days while we stayed), and everyone really enjoyed the neighborhood. Thanks!

We will rent again. Edgar, Cecy and the other staff were amazing. Breakfast was great for the whole family. The house was beautiful and staff was really helpful. They moved a bed from the second floor to the first floor because one family member was not able to get to second floor. Love the place and the service provided by Cecy and Edgar. Thank you guys!

Our stay at Casa Cortazar was everything we wished for. It was absolutely beautiful just like the pictures they advertised. I went there to celebrate my 30th birthday with family and friends, a total of 11, and we all fit comfortably. Their chef was excellent! The menu was good and delicious. The house is perfectly located near great restaurants and nightlife. One thing I do wish other reviews would’ve mentioned, so now I will, is the fact that their common areas are not conditioned with AC, they only have minisplits in the rooms and a few areas in the house, but the house is too big for the minisplits to do the job. We had to leave the minisplits on even when we left for the day because if we didn’t, we would come back to a sauna and be drenched in minutes. The public beach areas are at a walking distance, but if you’re trying to go somewhere else, all you had to do was walk to the corner and many pulmonias would be at your disposal. All in all, my guests and I enjoyed our stay.

This place was worth the stay! Great team who works there, Adela and Ceci- wow- they cook so good!! They clean well and respect our privacy. Loved the 3 washers and 3 dryers! Loved the pool, especially after a long hot day in the beach or downtown, and the amount of restrooms and showers available was great! All supplies ready to use-did need to wash towels frequently. Great walking distance to local shops and local shopping!! Loved that there was 4 bicycles for us to use. Definitely worth the stay!!! A balance of well cooled places and natural “weather” areas. One side note: the internet - goes in and out.

We recently stayed at Casa Cortázar, and what can I say? It is one of the most stunning properties I've ever stayed in. Every detail was thoughtfully done. The restoration of this beautiful historic home is incredible, blending its original charm with luxurious comfort. The beds were unbelievably comfortable, the house was spacious, and the amenities exceeded our expectations. What truly made our stay special, though, was the amazing staff. House manager Edgar was incredibly helpful, and Adela and her assistant were so kind and welcoming. Their hospitality made us feel right at home. The location couldn't have been better. Casa Cortázar is just steps from Plaza Machado, with countless restaurants, bars, and cafés within easy walking distance! We loved every moment of our stay. It was the perfect home base for enjoying our favorite port city, Mazatlán, and we already can't wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Outstanding accommodation in Mazatlán. Casa Cortazar feels more like a 5-Star Resort than an AirBnb place. The service provided by Edgar, Adela and Cecy is remarkable. Included breakfast was creative and delicious. Beautiful location in Centro Histórico and at walking distance to plenty of nice restaurants, cafés and bars and just two blocks from Malecón and sea views. Amazed by the city's calm vibe and how safely locals and tourists enjoy walking the Malecón and Centro Histórico at any time of day. Our expectations were exceeded by far.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Cortázar. It is probably the best Airbnb type property in historic Mazatlan. The home is large and fun to explore and get to know. The central courtyard is beautiful and fills the adjacent rooms with light. Edgar and the chef Adela and her helper were so helpful and welcoming. The breakfasts were amazing with everything freshly made every morning. The salsa was so good I had to get the recipe from Adela. Despite the proximity to so many restaurants and bars nearby there wasn't a peep of noise in the bedrooms.

We were very pleased to visit Casa Cortázar again. Casa Cortázar is an absolute gem. We love that it has the charm of an old building but that it has been restored to be modern, pleasant, and relaxing. Our kids love the pool and walking to Playa Olas Altas. The staff is excellent, the breakfasts are delicious, and we always enjoy it.

The fully equipped kitchen included multiple coffee machines, a bar with a refrigerator, and plenty of bottled water for all guests. Located in Mazatlán’s Historic Center, just one block from Plazuela Machado and Olas Altas, the house is a true gem. The third-floor terrace offers beautiful views of the historic area and oceanfront. Breakfast and daily cleaning service made our stay effortless. Adela and Cecy prepared delicious meals each morning, while Edgar, the host, was attentive and helpful throughout. Best of all, we were able to truly relax—no dishes, no trash, just vacation. We all had a wonderful time at Casa Cortázar! This house was an ideal choice for a large, multi-generational family holiday. Even with 17 of us, the home never felt crowded. The layout made it easy to spend time together in the communal spaces, especially around the pool, while still allowing everyone to retreat to their own comfortable rooms when they wanted privacy. The location was perfect, situated between Olas Altas and Plaza Machado, which made it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and the beach. The true highlight of our stay was Adela and Ceci. They prepared delicious meals for us each day and were incredibly warm, kind, and attentive. Their care and presence made the house feel like a home. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it for families or groups looking for a special place to gather.

Fantastic retreat! Extremely comfortable, morning service with breakfast does not disappoint each morning we had a great breakfast waiting for us. The home features multiple living areas that fit our family and card games well! All bedrooms are upstairs with 4 of the 6 having bathrooms attached. Each room has its own ac unit. We only had 8 people in our group but this home would host 18 comfortably. But most importantly is location location location! Walk to everything and short taxi ride to much more!! Our whole family stayed at Casa Cortázar for a wedding. We all had a great time and the breakfast was wonderful every morning. It was very hot when we were there and it was always relaxing to hang out in the courtyard and take a dip in the pool. The house is walkable to some good cafes for coffee in the morning and plenty of restaurants for other meals. It also had a great kitchen for cooking when you don’t want to go out. There were a couple issues we ran in to during our stay but Edgar was very responsive and took care of everything ASAP.

We stayed as a group of 6 adults for a special occasion. The very best thing about this house is the staff (the ladies doing the amazing breakfasts and Edgar, the manager, who literally saved our trip at the end (forgotten items, delivered to the airport). This team is the greatest, and the best I’ve ever experienced in terms of responsiveness and caring for the guests. The house is even better than the photos, and there is literally not one thing you would want that’s not there. It’s perfection. Mazatlan is quite I warm and humid and this home has amazing fans, breezeways, A/C and other things to beat the heat which we loved and appreciated!!

Edgar was an absolute gentleman- we arrived early and they did everything possible to receive us on time. The breakfast is not your traditional continental- it was delicious. The house is immaculate full of rustic charm, and the amenities are endless. The location is Prime!…Will definitely come back!

It is located in an excellent and safe area, which gave us a lot of peace of mind throughout the stay. Plus, the beach is just a block away! The location is ideal for walking or dining out. The house is very nice and spacious, it has the perfect spaces to rest and for spending time together. The house staff is very friendly and helpful. The location in the historic center is magnificent, there are many things to do in the surrounding areas, there are many restaurants, it is a very safe and quiet area to walk and explore. I would definitely stay at Casa Cortázar again and highly recommend it for a group trip with friends, family trip or couples trip.

I cannot say enough amazing things about casa Cortázar! It is even more beautiful than the photos shown. The provided homemade breakfast was delicious and they even made us fresh squeezed orange juice. The property manager, Edgar, was so helpful and responsive getting us checked in and out. We felt very safe and right at home with so many extra luxuries. We will definitely be booking another stay at this amazing home that is situated in the most perfect location to see everything that Mazatlan has to offer!

Edgar and the team did an amazing job of making us feel like we were home! I have stayed in many airbnbs but this was by far my favorite! The pool was so relaxing, the rooftop has a view of the ocean, you’re walking distance to restaurants and the beach! Not to mention the breakfast the ladies cooked for us. Casa Cortázar deserves 5 stars despite having some set backs. Originally when I reserved the house I didn't realize that I didn't reserve for the correct number of people staying. Prior to arriving the property manager, Edgar, confirmed the numbers of guests and provided us with inflatable beds. Realizing my mistake, I was more than willing to pay appropriate fees for the all guests. During our 1st night, the house lost partial power from the city. There was not enough power for the minisplits to cool the rooms which was much needed in what felt like 103°F weather in July. Edgar reached out to get the electricity repaired and was on site anytime workers were there. As night approached and still no resolution, Edgar an reached out that he would get more fans for relief. Luckily, full power was restored around 10pm. We enjoyed Cecilia and Adela's delicious breakfasts and they did great job of cleaning our rooms. The house is beautiful and the staff just made it a more amazing experience!

Amazing place very beautiful!

We had an amazingly, beautiful stay! The property was everything and more. It is beautifully appointed with all the comforts of a welcoming, peaceful, historical home. We were a family of 7 who traveled to Mazatlan on the wishes of my 93 yr. old father in-law to go back to a town where he met and married my mother-in-law. It was my husband, his 2 siblings and their spouses who made the journey with him. We can't say enough about how the team of our host Edgar and our 2 beautiful & gracious cooks, Adela & Ceci made our stay. They were very attentive & supportive at making life at Casa Cortazar so pleasurable. We woke up in the mornings to the aroma and beautiful presentation of a delicious, healthy breakfast coming from the cocina. When we'd come back in the evenings, the house was nice & clean, and ready for a relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful memories made...our hearts are full. Thank you Casa Cortazar! The house is gorgeous super big, beds very confortable bedrooms are huge bathrooms very clean service was excellent they served us delicious breakfast. Kids loved the pool It a great house, You can walk to the plaza machado for restaurants and live music, or walk to el malecón to the beach few blocks. They have bikes you can use if you do not want to walk very nice personal that greet us and get there to receive the property. It is prettier than in the pictures. We are more than happy with this rental we were 12 people 7 adults and 5 kids and we had lots of space left kids had their own bedroom and bath and every couple bed and bath. Lots of privacy

This beautiful home is located in the historical area of Mazatlan, which means it’s a very quiet community. If you’re looking to be near the night life establishments this location won’t work, however, you’re about 5min away and can always take a pulmonía. The house is beautiful. We were greeted by the property assistant. He quickly helped unload our luggage and helped bring them upstairs. The room arrangements worked out for our big group of 13. The ambiance of the house was spectacular, no matter in what part you were, you felt at home and part of all the activities. We spent a lot of time in the heated pool & patio. The cooks made us delicious breakfast and were super friendly and easy to work with. There are so many restaurants within walking distance. Don’t think twice stay at this house! You will not regret it. Thank you Casa Cortázar! We will definitely be coming back.

We rented Casa Cortázar for the week of our wedding at Observatorio 1873 and it was perfect. We had all of our guests that flew in from the US stay near Olas Altas and it was the perfect central location for folks to stop by and say hello during the days before and after the wedding. We are from New Orleans and it reminded us of being in a perfectly renovated French Quarter mansion 2 blocks off the beach. There was a delicious breakfast waiting for us every morning. Edgar, the property manager, was there in a matter of minutes when we had a problem with a lock one evening. All of our favorite restaurants are a stone’s throw away. We got a look at pretty much every high end Airbnb since our different wedding guests rented up most of them in Centro and Casa Cortázar was definitely the nicest of them all. The neighborhood felt way safer than anywhere I’ve lived in the US. This is the best possible place to rent in Mazatlan with a large group!

The photos do it no justice, the house is absolutely stunning. Great location & quiet surroundings. The morning breakfast was included daily.. which we didn’t know but it was a plus was always freshly made and delicious. Will definitely be coming back.

Beautiful house in a great location!  It was less than a 5-minute walk Olas Altas and to Old Town Mazatlan with all the shops and restaurants.   We were served delicious continental breakfast every morning. The house is very spacious with three living rooms downstairs, which we didn’t use much because of other gathering areas in the house.  There were plenty of bathrooms in the house for individual rooms and two bathrooms outside of the bedrooms to share. We loved the fact that there were three sets of washers and dryers, so we never had to wait on each other to wash our clothes. The house was gorgeous and super clean.  If you want to stay in a place that reflects the culture and style of Mazatlan, this is the perfect house that offers that ambiance.  The host was very supportive in all our needs and provided a complementary delicious homemade lunch during our stay.  BEST OPTION and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for a large group looking to experience the true culture of Mazatlan.

This home is equipped from bathroom to kitchen essentials. The picture are great but don’t do justice once you arrive in person. We were in awe every morning just admiring the homes beauty and intricate details. Many original Mexican style accents were preserved with an updated spark! Look no further when traveling with family or with a group. It’s very close to “El Malecón” and nearby restaurants. Very central to local attractions and just a short drive from nightlife. Comfy beds, squeaky clean everything, beautiful decor, great street views, central, and very attentive host who went above and beyond during our stay. We took advantage of every corner of the home which provides with several areas to get together and chat away. The pool was great and the home even includes pool towels, speaker with tablet Spotify included to manage music, children’s life vest, ice chest, and super cute bikes to drive around the historic center. We will back to this home when visiting Mazatlan.

This was a great place to stay at! The area is beautiful and peaceful, great if your coming with family and want to stay away from the party scene. The house is beautiful and not to mention the staff (Edgar) was very welcoming and attentive to our needs. Casa Cortazar was incredible. This is probably the best AirBnB I have ever had the pleasure of staying in and will highly recommend to anyone visiting Mazatlan with a large group or family. The place was beautiful, clean and in a great location. Edgar was very responsive and friendly. The young lady who came every morning with and prepared continental breakfast and also provided the housekeeping was a great touch. The pictures on AirBnB do not do this place justice. Everyone in our group was blown away. I can't wait to visit and stay here again.

The house is beautiful. It's just like all the photos and the description. The support from the people who work in the house is really good. The person who is there in the house in charge of the kitchen is lovely and an excellent person, super attentive. And Edgar is a super attentive person when it comes to resolving any situation. The house itself is beautiful and very clean in general. And as for the location, it's very good since the market is super close and the area is very quiet. We were delighted 🫶🏻

Beautiful place ! Felt like home and great service

The house was amazing. Great location and can walk everywhere from there. the staff was great! Definitely a great place to stay at if you're in the area and not to mention having the pool to yourself with BBQ area (which we had to use). the roof top has amazing views; which you have to go up to see the sunrise and sunset is great to see from there, as well.

This accommodation offers a very good experience. It has a colonial style but without leaving aside all the comforts of a resort. It's an excellent option for getting to know the historic center of Mazatlán since everything is close by!

Not sure what was better the house or the service, both were amazing. This is not your normal vacation home, Casa Cortazar set the bar very high for Mazatlan housing. Adela, the house maid was attentive and super nice, she surprised us with pancakes one morning. We all agreed, this may be one of the best properties in Mazatlan… Highly Recommended!!

Awesome house!! Big and spacious, we had 20 guests and we all still had our own personal space, from the pool area, bar and multiple living rooms. The complementary breakfast was great, it really helped out with the overall budget, additionally the daily cleaning service was a huge plus. Location was great, everything was nearby. Overall we all agreed, we have found our new vacation home in Mazatlan, can’t wait to come back!!
