4BR Villa in Nuevo Vallarta

Brent

Excellent, 2 months ago

We’ve stayed in many vacation rentals, and this one stands out as one of our favorites. The villa was exactly as pictured—spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. The bedrooms stayed cool with great A/C, the kitchen was well equipped, and the outdoor living space, private pool, and views were even better in person. My favorite mornings were waking to the sound of the waves as the sky slowly changed from darkness to light. The location on the north end of Sayulita was perfect. We highly recommend renting a golf cart because of the hill. Theo is, without question, the best property manager we’ve ever worked with. He greeted us personally, shared excellent local recommendations, arranged a private chef for welcome appetizers and our first dinner, and was always quick to respond. As fellow STR hosts, we hope our guests feel as well cared for as Theo made us feel. The private casita was a huge bonus for our group. We’d return to Sayulita just to stay in this home again

Beautiful location with absolutely stunning views. Theo was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Any time we had a question or concern, he was extremely responsive and quick to assist. I would 1000% recommend renting a golf cart—there’s no way we would have wanted to walk up and down the hill for activities every day. Being able to drive the golf cart into town made getting around so much easier and added a lot of convenience to our trip. The chefs, Alicia and Jorge, were AMAZING. They prepared breakfast for us every morning, which made our mornings so relaxing and enjoyable. Sitting back, enjoying a delicious meal, and taking in the beautiful views was one of the highlights of our stay. We visited during a very hot time of year (June), so I would recommend packing bug spray and even portable fans or misters if you’re sensitive to the heat. As with many tropical areas in Mexico, there are plenty of bugs, so it’s good to come prepared. Overall, everything was amazing.

Beautiful villa, magical view, impeccable services like at a hotel, extremely welcoming and attentive host. A real paradise, sad to leave; we'll be happy to go back

This house was FABULOUS! It perfectly accommodated eight of us very comfortably. The bedrooms were all beautiful sanctuaries while the shared living spaces were breathtakingly beautiful from the decor to the layout and THE VIEWS! It was a dream to wake up in this stunning space every morning. All of the recommendations we received from in house chefs to restaurants to services and excursions were spot on. It was so difficult to leave and we're eternally grateful for this perfect home and the memories we made there as a family. One thing I hate to add is that unfortunately we had a break in during our visit while we were away from the home. However, the safes provided in each room prevented us from having any losses and Theo (who was assisting us while we were in town) came to the house immediately to make sure we were all good. It was a minor incident and simply a warning to use the security provided. It could have happened anywhere. In spite of this, I'd easily stay here again!

Villa Buena Vista was the perfect spot for our family vacation. The view is stunning, more beautiful than we expected - we even saw a whale one morning! We loved having lots of different spaces to relax in, including the pool and upstairs lounge area, and proximity to the quieter part of the beach. We did end up renting golf carts after walking the hill back to the villa a few times and that made our time in Sayulita a lot easier (especially getting back at night after dinner). Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Tamra’s place was stunning and a wonderful place for our family with 2 kids, a grandparent, and 4 adults to stay. The view was spectacular, the house was beautiful, and the pool was a great temperature and loved by all. The beds were comfortable, and the number of bathrooms was perfect. The hill is NO JOKE, and renting two 4 person golf carts was definitely necessary for our group of 7. I would have been happy to walk up/down the hill regularly, but it was definitely too much for the kids to do everyday, or anyone that’s not particularly active/mobile. But great exercise if you are up for it! Everything in Sayulita was nearby (so much delicious food!!), but we were far enough away to appreciate the peace and quiet of our location. Having a cleaner come everyday was icing on the cake. It felt like we were in a private hotel, coming home to perfectly made beds and a clean kitchen every evening. Definitely recommend!!

Our group of 5 had an exceptional stay. The four bedrooms were spacious, spotless and well-appointed, providing all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were cozy, and the bathroom was pristine. Theo and Tamra were incredibly welcoming and offered valuable insights about the local area, enhancing our visit. The location was ideal, with convenient access to town. It was especially helpful to have access to golf carts, which you absolutely need to get up and down from the very steep hill into town. I highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a top-notch Sayulita experience.

We absolutely love Sayulita, we cannot say enough great things! This is our 4th time visiting and this was our favorite place so far! The view is breathtaking and you're able to take in the view from the heated pool- this was so undervalued by our group going in, but so nice for the week! There are multiple places throughout the house and property that our group of 6 was able to hang out, but at the same time, there are spaces to just sit and relax by yourself. We definitely hope to stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Buena Vista! We were a group of 7 and the space was perfect for us. We especially enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well as the location. We were close enough to town but out of the hustle and bustle. Very close to a beach and restaurants as well. Theo was very responsive and awesome at helping arrange transportation, golf carts and a private chef. This house was amazing and one of the rare times that the reality matched, or exceeded, the photos. We would definitely book this house again in the future!

Villa Buena vista was an incredible 7 night stay in Sayulita. The house manager, Theo, was extremely communicative, helpful and set up the perfect vacation for my family of 6. Theo gave great recommendations for chefs (5 brunch, 3 dinner), golf carts and activities. The villa is so much better in person than pictures - beautiful, clean, open space and amazing pool/jacuzzi plus sun sets. Highly recommend to a family looking for the perfect vacation getaway.

The most gorgeous home I've had the pleasure of renting. Ever. So many places to relax, super clean, comfortable beds, daily cleaning (but like, REAL cleaning), and the pool was just the cherry on top. I also loved how once I booked, I was in contact with the property manager to do everything from reserve a taxi from the airport, to hiring a chef to prepare dinner and rent a golf cart to explore the island. I've already recommended this place to a friend. I feel like this was such a fantastic stay and I'm still patting myself on the back. Then, in addition to the house itself, the actual area is so cool. Tons of great restaurants, shopping, and people watching. If you're on the fence, BOOK NOW.

We had a beautiful stay at Tamra’s home. The house was even better than the pictures. Truly a beautiful sanctuary in Sayulita. While I would recommend renting golf carts for bigger groups, I highly recommend not going any alternate route to town if roads are closed for construction. We were instructed by a neighbor to go around up the hill and ended on a very dangerous road and ultimately in an accident. While this didn’t ruin our stay and still had an amazing time at the house, I want to make sure no one else finds themselves on that road! But again I highly recommend this house for a weekend/ week away with friends. You can’t beat the rooms, pool and views. The sunsets were unmatched. And Tamara and Theo were very helpful prior to the trip and on the trip setting up drivers, chefs, etc. we hope to come back soon!

Our group had a magical stay at Tamra and Theo's place in Sayulita. The views, pool, and amenities were top notch. It's a ways up the hill, so be sure to rent a car, scooters, or golf carts (the most convenient solution).

We loved the property. The house was gorgeous and the view was stunning. The layout was almost perfect for us and enjoyed the pool. We loved Heidi our housekeeper and she did an excellent job on her days of work. It was very hard with the pool to not have access to the dryer especially with young grandkids. We did need to use the Casita and felt the floors were not very clean. Also, the noise from the water trucks at all hours of the night was a bit disturbing but the main house didn't hear them.

Tamara's Sanctuary on the Hill is a dream come true. Waking to the sounds of waves breaking and the chachalakas singing elevated vacation to the next level. The house was calming and beautiful and boasted the best sunset in Sayulita. My group of 6 women was incredibly comfortable, and the house was well-stocked with everything we needed. We will be back to have more fun and host a yoga retreat. Thanks Tamara and Theo!

Absolutely incredible place. As in, coolest place anyone in my group had ever stayed. Seriously gorgeous and ridiculously luxurious. Manager (Theo) was super nice and communicative. Cons (in reverse order of severity): - No microwave - You have to lock your door with a key from the inside - Everyone in my group got massively sick with norovirus followed by HFMD at which point we finally researched Sayulita and realized that about 50% of people who travel to this town get horribly sick because, since 2018, the town hasn't been able to manage its sewage due to the influx of tourists. Sewage spills out into the streets and ocean and people get terribly sick. In my opinion, Airbnb should be displaying warnings on the profiles of all the destinations in this town to give people a heads up. We traveled with a baby and it felt like we had no chance. It took us all down within 48 hours of arrival. Brutal sickness. Please research this to inform yourself before traveling to Sayulita.

Host Response

We are very sad that Aaron's group were sick and lost some of their valuable vacation time. We are so grateful that Aaron reviewed the house 5-stars and not the town. You can read all our other reviews to see how people loved the house and the town - and did not get sick. In 2019, there were a lot of people getting sick which most think was accelerated by a bad sewage leak. Since then the town has been plagued with a bad reputation although the sewage plant was completely overhauled. Keep in mind, you are coming to a small town in Mexico where the town infrastructure does not equal the standards of 1st world countries. When you travel anywhere, maintain hygiene and take precautions. Between rentals we do everything necessary to make sure the rental units are clean. This involves washing linens and towels with hot water and bleach when possible. Using bleach to clean all surfaces and anything that a person could touch; door handle, faucet, chair back, etc.

We had the most amazing trip at Nido Nanzal. The property is gorgeous and very spacious. A lot of different areas to hang out in and the views are amazing. We rented golf carts to get us around town and had a chef cook dinners at the villa. Theo and Tamara were a huge help, setting us up with transportation, chef, restaurant recommendations etc. We will definitely be looking to stay here again! Great hosts, amazing house, and Sayulita is a gem!

We had an excellent stay in Sayulita. The house was fantastic, clean, and better than described. We spent most of our days lounging by the pool, which was clean and had a beautiful view. Getting into town was a simple downhill walk. Getting back up would be better in a taxi or golf cart, unless you're in great shape. We walked back up but it was pretty steep. Overall, we loved our stay and we'd definitely stay again. Tamra and Theo are great hosts!

Our group was six adults. The place was great. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed to cook a dinner or two. The views were breathtaking. The pool is awesome. The beds were super comfy. It was a private location and we felt very secure. There are safes in every room for personal items. Theo was very helpful with setting up a shuttle from/to the airport, hooking us up with a golf cart, and giving us a tour of the property. Highly recommended!! 😎

Casa Nido Nanzal was perfect from the start to the end. Theo met us onsite and explained everything in great detail, he was also available throughout our whole stay. The place is pristine and the perfect place for family and friends to enjoy. We felt at home and enjoyed the views, jungle, hills and most of the architecture of the house. We will definitely be coming back to Casa Nido Nanzal.

Host Response

Rick, we are thrilled you had a wonderful time. Come back soon, you are welcome anytime!

A peaceful serenity began when we opened the door to this welcoming and beautiful home. The open view is stunning! Theo greeted us when we arrived to cover all details of the property. He was extremely responsive if we had any questions or needs. Accommodations are comfortable as well as visually appealing. The home has plenty of room to gather as a group or to enjoy individual private space. We enjoyed our meals in the the well appointed kitchen and the outdoor grill made cooking a breeze for the few times we opted to stay in. Sayulita is a fun town though, so exploring is a must. Heidi and Julio kept the house and pool spotless throughout our stay, providing an added bonus. Be prepared to hike or rent a golf cart or side-by-side as the road to this house is very steep and may be too difficult for some. As is the case in many locations, expect some road noise and construction. All in… This place is a big slice of heaven! Thanks Tamra and Theo!!

we had an amazing stay at Tamara and Theo’s home. Theo helped above and beyond in setting up transportation and renting golf carts. it is up a very steep hill and would highly recommend renting golf carts to make life easy. the rooms were very big and the beds were super comfortable. they have everything you need to cook great meals. the pool was great and had a baja shelf that my kids loved. super comfortable for 8 people. not super kid friendly since there a lot of stairs but not that big of an issue. I can’t wait to come back again!

Just got back from a long weekend with some college friends. It could not have been any better. The house was somehow more impressive than the pictures lead on. Theo set essentially every aspect of our trip up for us. Ladies for breakfast, massages, chef (Daniel), transportation, golf carts, etc. Daniel prepare a wildly impressive multi-course meal on 2 nights. We had a group of 5 and had more than enough living space. We felt it was quite easy (<10 min) to cart back and forth to center of town…we could have easily not left the house too! 100% will be planning a return trip. Thanks so much, Theo and Tamra!

This home is just as photographed….we loved it! We had a 4 couples here to celebrate my 50th birthday! The view is amazing! Pool is perfection….Theo was beyond helpful and available for any questions or needs…we absolutely recommend this house and would stay here again, for sure! We thoroughly enjoyed our time! 5 stars ALL the way!

I have stayed in quite a few luxury Airbnb’s in the past, and none have come close to this home in Sayulita. The views are incredible, the home is immaculately cleaned, the pool was perfect, and the design of the home was very unique and welcoming. Theo was so helpful in helping us organize golf cart rentals and a private chef (Daniel) to cook for us at the home. You definitely want to rent the golf cart, the home is on a rather steep hill. We walked it every once and a while, so it’s doable, but your stay would be more enjoyable with the golf cart as an option as well. Don’t hesitate, just book it.

Everything about Casa Buena Vista was amazing - the view, the home, the location, the hosts, the pool, the rooms, the view...did I mention the view? This is a one-of-a-kind place and we appreciated Theo's attentive and timely response to all of our questions, help with the taxi and golf cart, recommendations for in town places and making us feel at home. We loved the outdoor eating areas, and the large sofas for watching the sunset. The beautiful beach is right down the hill, as is the wonderful gourmet food truck Le Camion and fabulous espresso bar/cafe, Don Benito. Even though the weather predicted rain every day (in July), we still had all the sunshine, pool and beach time, walking around time and enjoying the town time we needed. It was a great time to visit (less crowded). The luxury accommodations of Casa Buena Vista made coming home to some a/c and relaxing in the pool even better. If you think the photos look good, wait until you actually stay here. Maginificent!

Our stay at this property was beyond epic. The house is gorgeous and perfectly set up for groups. The view from the pool is beyond - we caught sunsets there every night. Theo helped us arrange airport transport, golf cart rentals, a chef to cook a beautiful 5-course meal, ladies to cook breakfast and lunch, massages and yoga. He made it so easy so we could have the most relaxing vacation. The only thing to note is that transport up and down on golf carts is a bit steep, but totally doable. And if that does not work for your comfort levels, you can call taxis. We will absolutely return!

10/10 place to stay in Sayulita! The home was clean, in an amazing location. Theo was a great host as well. I can’t recommend this place enough!

This house is spectacular. It was everything we needed for our group. We had 8 people and it gave us enough space and privacy, and also ideal common areas for gathering. Some highlights - comfortable beds, a quiet night’s rest, and outstanding views from every level. The location was perfect. Far enough away from city center, but close enough to get there in 5-10 minutes by golf cart. As others have mentioned, golf carts are very helpful due to the steep incline of the hill. Overall, and excellent stay. Highly, highly recommended.

One of or the best views in sayulita. The view never got old. From the dining room, to the couch’s to the pool it was awesome. Pictures of the place don’t do justice to the views. The rooms were great and really appreciated the air conditioners. The hot tub got warm at night so we can star gaze and relax in the heated pool. Really a luxury experience. We had kids with us 10 and 8 and they loved it too. Felt safe and secure for them as well and they spent almost as much time in the pool as anywhere else. One word of advice- reserve a golf cart. It’s a big/steep hill up to the house. You will want a cart to get you into town (less than a mile) but it really comes in handy getting home and up those big hills so you will want a cart unless you are an avid hiker and/or want some serious exercise. Pat.

Wow! That was our first reaction upon arrival at Casa Nido Nanzal. The views are breathtaking and even better in person than in the pictures. Our family of 7 was comfortable and cared for not only during our stay but leading up to the trip as well. Theo helped us secure a chef for the week (Manuela - HIGHLY recommend) and reserve our golf carts, airport transportation, and sailing excursion outside of Puerto Vallarta. We are so grateful for Theo’s hospitality and can’t wait to visit Sayulita again!

This house is exquisite in every way. The open air living and dining, along with the chefs kitchen, were even better in person. There are essentially three master bedrooms with total privacy. Between the 2 rooms downstairs there is a smaller room perfect for kids. One in our group chose to sleep on the sofa separates in the upstairs of the guesthouse, and she felt she had the best room as she was able to stargaze from her bed. You can hear the ocean all day and night from every space. The sunsets are amazing. The pool and hot tub are not only gorgeous but user friendly. Hot tub was more like a warm tub - which we enjoyed just fine. We did rent golf carts, and would say it’s not necessary. They are difficult to drive up and down the hill. If you don’t mind walking a mile into town, then you can save the money. But if someone in your group would benefit from the ride up and down, perhaps you just get one cart. Beaches are amazing. We especially enjoyed playa de los muertos, which we did drive carts to get to, so keep that in mind. Sayulita Luxury Transportation was punctual, communicative and friendly. We stopped at the grocery store between airport and villa buena vista and that worked well. Suggestion to tuck a few reusable bags in your luggage as they don’t offer any for free. You could also look for boxes while there which is what we did. There are markets in town as well for veggies etc. we found a fish market near the bridge and bought 1 kilo mahi-mahi that was delicious. We took a whale watching tour to see that and blue footed boobies. The water was very choppy in the afternoon in a smaller than expected boat. All was well that ended well would skip that if we were to do it again. The water in the house was fine to drink and helpful, ice was fine too. We felt safe everywhere we went. Sayulita is a hidden gem! Highly recommend Villa buena vista!!!

Villa Buena Vista is simply the best vacation house I've ever rented. 6 friends shared the space for a week and we marveled daily at the stunning view, luxurious pool and comfortable outdoor lounging area. The kitchen is well appointed and Theo was available for any questions we had. I could not recommend this spot more highly. For us, adventurous 50 year old women, the beach was a short easy walk, town was close but we felt removed from the hustle and bustle. The climb back up the hill was not a problem. Trails for running were nearby. Just really perfect!!

We are a three-generation family that stayed at the Villa Buena Vista in late January/early February 2022. The house is fabulous! Each area is very functional! We thoroughly enjoyed the pool area, the open air dining and living area, and the kitchen. We even made good use of the entry courtyard at certain times of the day! And the casita was a great space for one of the families in our group. The house is very clean – Heite is wonderful and does a great job! Julio keeps the pool in great shape as well. The views are spectacular! We took countless pictures of the sunsets…absolutely beautiful! Other reviews mention the steep road up to the house from town – it is true – the road is very steep and bumpy! A golf cart is highly recommended. We used it multiple times each day to go to the beach, into town, to pick up food, etc…. Carts are readily available in town. Theo and the entire team were very helpful and responsive to our requests and questions – first class. We opted to bring in Chef Daniel for three dinners – what a treat! He and his assistant were fabulous! We enjoy good food and he did not disappoint! Well worth it – especially since we had young kids and going out for dinners was not convenient. Overall, we enjoyed the house and the town of Sayulita a lot! It was a great stay and we would definitely recommend it!

An absolutely beautiful and serene house. The design and flow of the space, as well as the furniture, is effortlessly modern and functional. The slightly heated pool felt like a luxury, especially for sunset hangs. We had an absolute blast golf carting up and down the hill to town and nearby beaches - and I 100% recommend getting those, as the hill is steep and you'll want them (so long as you have careful, responsible drivers in your crew!). Theo was also super helpful with helping us arrange transport and answer questions whenever they came up. I would highly recommend this spot for a small group trip of 7-8 (2 per room), to both make the house feel full enough and not too crowded. Cannot wait to return!

The house is stunning - it FAR exceeds the beautiful photos. Truly unbelievable view and layout. Our stay was absolutely wonderful! We found it especially helpful that the house has purified water that is safe. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub every day. It was very useful to rent golf carts (seriously - absolutely essential!) because the hill is long and steep. We also hired a private chef recommended by Theo, who was incredible and made a delicious five course meal for us! I highly recommend this place for people of all ages and for all types of vacations - whether relaxing or adventuring!

Stayed here with a group of 10 for my Mom's 70th birthday celebration. It was perfect in every way! Rooms were all spacious and gorgeous. Cleaner & Gardner/Pool Man came daily so the house was always clean and sparkling. The house is on a hill so I would most definitely recommend getting a golf cart or two (especially if you have elderly people in your group), plus they are a blast! We had rented both a 6 person and 4 person golf cart from a location other than the house. We had problems getting the 6 person golf cart up the hill so we rented from the house and had the same problem. If you have more than 4 people I would rent 2 or 3 4-person golf carts, the 4-person golf carts are much more effective. Theo was excellent in his communication and always there to help us out and answer questions. I would also recommend getting a private chef at the house for at least one night!! Would most definitely return!

This place was much better than we expected! Theo was an amazing host and the views were unreal! We had an incredible private chef Daniel from Mexotik cuisine that came recommended from Theo and I would highly recommend!

Excellent communication from hosts. Was basically concierge level service and Theo helped me set up all my dinner reservations, golf carts and even a mariachi for my best friends special cerebration. House was clean and beautiful. It is up a hill that I think would be too far of a walk into town especially at night but the golf carts made It up effortlessly and were a super fun addition. Pool was awesome and heated and we just had a great time overall at this property!!

Nido Nanzal was a fabulous home to rent in Saylulita. The place was absolutely gorgeous and immaculate. It was stocked with everything you could need, including luxury bath supplies. We couldn’t have had a better time with our family. A big thanks to Theo and Tamra for helping us facilitate golf carts and activities. Our trip wouldn’t have been the same without their help.

Wow!! One of the best Airbnb’s we’ve ever stayed in. The VIEW! Unparalleled. We spent so much time by the pool and on the couch under the palapa enjoying the view of the ocean and beach. The house itself was perfect. Definitely rent a golf cart so it is a quick ride into town. Theo was amazing and set us up with a company that was great. We were always able to park in their lot in town so we didn’t have to search for parking. Highly recommend! A magical trip.

A truly special experience - this house is beautiful and the yard is magical - we can’t wait to go back!

It's a beautiful and magical place; the house has everything and is worth every penny... The town is very close by on foot going downhill (no more than 10 minutes), and my children often even preferred to walk downhill; on the way back, we took a taxi to the house at the end of the day. The pool is amazing, with a very good temperature and a dreamlike sunset view. Don't hesitate to rent it; you won't regret it. Theo is the best—always attentive and responds immediately to anything you might need. Don't miss out on doing yoga or getting a massage on the platforms; it's AMAZING... Beautiful Sayulita :)
