What a unique and incredible experience. Every review says the pictures don't do it justice and they're all true. Making the trek to the top of the hill is not for the weak-willed, but the funicular tackles the difficult bits and feels like a free amusement park ride that never gets old. This whole property is dripping in charm and elegance and history and then on top of that the panoramic views knock you down around every corner. Parts of the house can get warm, but you can always find a nice breeze or take a dip in your private pool to cool off. This is an adventure of an AirBnB that makes you feel like a king. Dont hesitate to book it, you found the one.

Very much enjoyed staying at this property and is truly unique and one-of-a-kind! The breathtaking view is definitely one to recommend, and the experience of using a funicular added to the lore! Raul was a very gracious host and showed us everything around the property, we wish we could have stayed longer!

This beautiful airbnb overall exceeded our expectations. Raul greeted us first thing and gave us a tour of the home. It was so clean and accommodating. The pictures didn't do this place justice. We enjoyed cooling off in the pool, laying in the hammocks, and watching all the wildlife. The best part was the view by far! Raul was responsive and even helped arrange a late check out. Highly recommend if you're looking for a unique and peaceful place to stay with all food and shops just a short walk away.

We come to Puerto Vallarta every year, and this year was the best for us. The house was huge, large rooms, beautiful furniture, all tastefully decorated. The terrace was really spacious, we used the pool every day. We were so comfortable that we hardly went to dinner at the restaurant. We had beautiful sunsets every night and fireworks too. Outdoor maintenance is done every day. The house is on the highest point of the city, it was really magical. Thanks so much Raoul, hope to see you soon.

Fernando’s place is exactly as described and even better. The view is amazing! Best view in PV. Fernando was waiting for us when we arrived (even though we arrived late). He was super responsive. The area is very safe and is a short walk to the beach and lots of stores and restaurants. The inside is very nice and authentic to PV. I would definitely recommend Fernando’s spot to anyone who wants amazing views and close to everything. It was a great experience!

In 10 years of staying in AirBnBs, this is one of the most beautiful and unique spaces I've ever had the pleasure to stay in! We were a group of 9 and everyone was in awe of the house, even those who weren't thrilled about the stairs. There are stairs, even if you take the funicular up. It's not many steps if you ride it, but definitely not the space for anyone with mobility issues. The house was HUGE, all 9 of us could have spread out and found a private area for each. The location is also perfect. We walked down to a restaurant behind the cathedral (El Campanario - delish!) every morning for breakfast and would grab a coffee on the way back up. We walked to zona romantica and back every night. I hope to return to PV someday and when I do, there is nowhere else I would choose to stay.

We had such a great stay at Raul’s place! The house is stunning and the view even more so. The house had everything we needed. We didn’t do much cooking as we wanted to enjoy the local cuisine, but when we did there was everything we needed. The amazing views don’t come without a lot of walking up hills, but we were prepared for that. The Funicular was a fun (and helpful) way to get you to the top. Raul was very helpful with explaining how the house worked. He gave an extremely detailed tour and some recommendations of local things to do. We loved the area and found it easy to get around by walking. We always felt safe walking through the neighborhood. Would definitely recommend to others looking for a truly unique experience. The view is immaculate and all the decorations around the house is as beautiful. We loved everything about our stay!

Raul's family home is truly exceptional. You'll arrive on a furnicular (partially horizontal outdoor elevator) and as you ascend the view becomes more and more impressive. It's is the highest home in the area at over 300 feet above sea level and the views the to the south and west are glorious. Sunsets and sunrises were such a treat. The house itself is spectacular, with gorgeous huge stone arches throughout with beautiful adornments that make every turn look like a magazine cover. It's also huge, with tons of different living areas that you can enjoy throughout the day. When we arrived multiple people in my group said they would not leave. The location itself is great too, between Zona Romatinca and 5 de Dicembere there's tons of stuff you can walk to. Despite the furnicular you will still have to walk up and down a good amount of elevation when you arrive or leave, and the roads are a little rough. It wouldn't be a good spot for those with mobility issues.

One of our favorite Airbnbs ever! Gorgeous views looking out over Puerto Vallarta, huge home, lovely art and details throughout, small private pool with lounge chairs, walking distance from countless restaurants and shops. The street leading up to it is quite steep, so we loved using the funicular to whisk us the rest of the way up. The house is perhaps a little rough around the edges in a few areas, but it more than makes up for it in charm. We had an incredible 5 nights here and hope to return someday!

Amazing view! The house is spacious but cozy. The pool was bigger than it appeared in the photos, which was key for the hot weather & after walking up the hill. The walk was a bit steep but it was easy to get a taxi & the elevator to the house was really cool. It was not a big deal for us but the internet was not super reliable. Overall we loved staying at Raul's place & would stay again.

The photos don't do this place justice... The wide patio with a 180-degree view of the ocean and city ALONE was worth it. The sunset is right in the middle and you have the best view! The furniture, art, and tile everywhere are *chefs kiss*. The walk from the Malecon to the place is a bit steep, but you get used to it. The funicular is scary at first but becomes super fun after! The worst part is lugging bags up the tiny hill to the funicular. We never felt unsafe while we were there. Super central and walkable! I am not the type to visit places more than once, let alone stay in the same accommodations. But I would 100% come back to PV again in the future, solely to book this gorgeous place. Perfect for a girls trip!

Excellent location. Like others have mentioned, the walk up can be challenging but is rewarded with amazing views of PV. Without giving the location away, it's close enough to Mirador el Cerro de la Cruz that you can skip that activity when staying here. The house and linens were clean, there's an AC in every bedroom, and the pool was cleaned daily. Host was very responsive.

The place is amazing and may have the best view in the city. It was honestly hard to leave sometimes as the house was comfortable and the pool was great for cooling down in the hotter parts of the day. 100% recommended for everyone except those who can't handle walking up hills or are afraid to drive on narrow steep cobblestone streets.

This has been one of the best places our group of 7 has ever stayed at. Raul was exceptional as a host. We often talked about how nice and friendly he was after our stay. Lets talk about the unit.. this place is the BEST view you can find in PV. We were blown away upon check in. The pictures do not do justice to how exceptional the place is. It is a very short distance from the boardwalk. It is easily accessible on foot. The property has the best view of Puerto Vallarta. An excellent option at a very good price! Our group had a wonderful stay at Raul’s beautiful house! The pictures did not do it justice, it is a wonderful space with amazing views (and we enjoyed the funicular rides). Very comfortable with multiple areas to lounge and hang out. We enjoyed the pool and multiple patios. The bedrooms stayed cool with AC, which was much-needed during our stay. Raul was very communicative and accommodating, and had some great recommendations for activities and dining. We would definitely stay here again.

Incredible place- even better in person

Raul was so kind and welcoming. To say this place is amazing doesn't even come close. I unfortunately was sick with a cold during our vacation and usually hate being away from home when sick. I felt right at home here. Do not pass on this air bnb!

This has to be one of the most incredible Airbnb’s I’ve stayed at. The view is absolutely phenomenal and to be honest, the pictures on the listing do not do it justice. We were also pleasantly surprised by the private pool area which was an incredible place to relax and take in the night time views. The kitchen is thoroughly stocked and each nook of the house has a different feeling and flavor. The funicular to the house is absolutely charming and was a joy to ride everyday. I also do recommend skipping the funicular at least one day and taking the steps up or down to the house, as the view is stunning and the feeling is different. It goes without saying that you should be comfortable walking up and down steep, cobblestone streets if booking this Airbnb, because even if you do take the funicular to the house, you will still need to walk a few blocks up some stairs or streets. Raul was the most incredible and thoughtful host. 3 nights here was simply not enough. We will return!

Best views in town! Close to everything, everything you need in the home too..bedrooms are air conditioned. Raul was friendly and took time to walk us around the home and showing us where everything was located. Highly recommend this home.

The view will take your breath away…or maybe that’s the hill to get to the house, but you’ll be breathless for sure and it’s definitely worth the climb. Our group enjoyed every moment of our time in this very charming older style house. If you’re looking for modern and sleek, this is not the place, but if you want true Puerto Vallarta local and historic charm, then definitely book this house. Raul was very welcoming when we arrived and gave us a tour of the house which his father built, provided some local recommendations, and helped us feel right at home. They do have staff that tend the grounds including a night watchman at the top of the funicular, which added an extra layer of comfort in a foreign place. The house is HUGE, with plenty of space to spread out if you’re traveling with a group. The pool on the back patio was also a very nice feature, which we used daily. I would definitely book this house again for a group trip to Puerto Vallarta.

The house is beautifully built on the top of the hill, where you will get the most breathtaking view over Puerto Vallarta! It remains easily accessible for all our family (2yo to 72yo) with the funicular. You will find everything you need and Raul is an outstanding host. He also owns an excellent Italian restaurant and we ordered take out in order to enjoy the view one last time before we left... we will be back for sure. Gracias!

The house was extraordinary. Very spacious and lovely, a traditional house that has been modernized in nice ways. The view is beyond description. 270 degrees of Banderas Bay and the pirate ship fireworks are right at eye level every night. The house is comfortable, the pool and sun deck are great, there are lovely breezes every afternoon. We loved the friendly neighborhood as well. Raul and his family are wonderful and helpful hosts. We loved everything about this place.

The Views! This place was the best Airbnb I’ve stayed at. Beyond a great experience and the host was super responsive and gave amazing recommendations. One of the best and most unique airbnbs I have ever stayed at - you will truly have the best view in all of Puerto Vallarta, and so many cool outdoor spaces within the Airbnb. We barely went out at night because we wanted to enjoy the place. We were a sizeable group - Raul was so kind in explaining everything to us and accommodating when we were not clear on the checkout tasks

Amazing view of the entire bay and location very close to the boardwalk. Very spacious, everything is very clean and organized. Raul was very attentive and clear from start to finish. From the moment of our arrival we were enamored with this classic Casa! Raul's sincere desire to make us feel at home and his responsiveness were amazing perfect! The consummate host while near at hand showed a strong desire to ensure our privacy and we were unaware of his presence unless desired. The home is a classic built by his Father and the unique architectural details and quality construction were evident immediately. All amenities from mattresses, linens, kitchen accoutrements were spot on and the place was spotless upon arrival and kept that way throughout our stay. The funicular access is a unique experience and made access easy for us. The views are some of if not the best in the city with unfettered views to the South including the famous River Cuale to Los Arcos and beyond with the views North encompassing the entire bay of Banderas, sunsets here were magical! Do not waiver on whether this is the right place as I can ensure you it is, memories will be made here!

This was honestly the highlight of my trip to PV. The villa was huge, and beautiful views from every window. The pictures do not do justice. The terrace was beautiful. The beds were comfortable and the pool was an awesome touch to our stay. Raul was super accommodating and easy to communicate with. One of my favourite parts of this place was the funicular (outdoor elevator) that took you up to your villa. I’d highly recommend Rauls place and cannot wait to come back one day!

The airbnb is located in Zona Romatico, with breath taking views! And easily accessible to all parts of the city, either by foot or a short taxi ride.

The location was perfect. You could see every point of Puerto Vallarta. Most things were in walking distance about 10 minutes or so. Be prepared to hike up to the top as the streets are very steep until you get to the funicular. Raul was great and gave us plenty of information for us to use while we were there. Definitely recommend this stay!

The accommodations are amazing! Went here for my bachelorette celebrations and we all had spaces of our own and plenty of communal spaces. The view is amazing, there’s filtered water, rooms with AC, great pool, beautiful plants and the jungle right there. It felt safe. Steep incline to get to the residence but 100% worth the muscles we gained. We want to return!

The most beautiful home in the most beautiful location. Exceeds expectations.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this lovely, very unique home. It is located on the top of a hillside, so the views of the bay and of the city at night, are just incredible. The home is well maintained, with so many thoughtful touches throughout, and the location is very quiet. We enjoyed the beautiful pool / patio area which was great for the warm afternoons. Of note, July is a very warm month in Puerto Vallarta—we knew this when we booked—and the main areas of the home are not air conditioned, so in the warmer months you can experience some warmth and humidity in the main living areas. This didn’t bother us much, as ceiling fans are present, and the bedrooms were air-conditioned which helped tremendously. That aside, this home is a “can’t-miss” stay in Puerto Vallarta.

Second time staying here and it won’t be my last!

This place is a PALACE! Our group loved it. Was completely worth sacrificing a place directly on the beach for Raul’s beautiful home – talk about character! There are two (maybe even three) patios with unbelievable views. The location is close enough to everything in the heart of PV. As other reviews have said, there is a steep hill and some stairs to get to it but you can taxi or Uber basically to the bottom of the funicular if that makes it easier for you. Once we had done the funicular twice it was completely fine. If we come back to PV Raul’s place will be at the top of our list. Raul was communicative and accommodating. Definitely recommend.

This home was completely amazing, it blew us all away! Nestled up on a big cliff, you ride a very reliable funicular to reach the streets below. The views are breathtaking and unparalleled, clearly of the best in the area. The neighborhood location is very convenient to a few small stores, and the downtown boardwalk and beach areas are just a few blocks away. Our host Raul greeted us and spent much time showing us around the house. We loved that the home has been in his family for years and the decor was rich in history & culture. The pool area in the back was perfect for relaxing during the late afternoon/ early evening. Sunsets on the front terrace were postcard worthy! We wish we had more time to spend there but will definitely be back!

April 2022 View is breathtaking from the top of the hill, especially the fireworks at night. Watch the sunset on the veranda facing the ocean. The house is inviting with large rooms and plenty of space. Perfect for a family vacation with grandparents, sons/daughters/spouses and grandchild. The pool is refreshing after a day of exploring the city and surrounding areas. Be sure to ask the owner, Raul, his recommendations for things to do and see, especially his restaurant, La Capella, only a short walk from the house. Delicious food and the ambiance makes a meal there unforgettable. If you book this house, it will not disappoint. En estas vacaciones, hubo momentos memorables.

Great house, great host, great view, great location.

Knock out views / amazing property / very special place! This was a stay like no other - you won't find a better perch from which to have such a beautiful and wide view of Puerto Vallarta out in front of you. Raul was very quick to help us and answer our questions. The small private pool was superb for our 8 year old grandson. We could walk down to the malecon is about 10 minutes. An extraordinary amount of space. All quite private and secure. We had a really terrific stay and greatly appreciated the opportunity to be there.

Awesome location and amazing place

We had the most amazing month staying at Raul's place! It really felt like home. We were 6 adults plus a baby and there was lots of space for all of us. We spent our mornings having breakfast and watching for whales on the patio, every afternoon the pool waited for us out back (it was always the perfect temperature!) and we could watch the fireworks every evening. The location is great, a few steps up as most places in PV but then you have the funicular to save you at the end. Well worth it for the incredible views all day every day. It was the perfect base for our adventures every day. Raul was super responsive! If we had any questions or needed anything, he got back to us almost immediately. It was so helpful to me that they had a crib and highchair so I didn't have to travel with those things. The only con - it's already booked at the same time next year! We hope to come back again soon. Thank you Raul!

This place is truly one of a kind. It had more than enough space for three couples, privacy and the view is amazing. This is our first trip here and we already booked next year. We can stay at no other place. Raul is great to work with & is an amazing host!

Great location El mirador can’t compete because this home has a corner view into The Valley. Had a great time relaxing after partying in vallartas bars and clubs, and the Host Has great communication just always give him a heads up 30min in advance will be back soon like later this year if it’s not already taken.

Our stay at Raul’s place was perfect. There was plenty of room for the six of us and the views were spectacular! Riding the funicular daily was always fun! Raul was available for our check-in and was so helpful with any questions that we had throughout our stay. We definitely recommend and will be back! Thank you Raul!
