If you want a rustic cabin that has amazing views of the mountains - this is it. Very bare bones place and that is part of the charm . I stayed a week for a solo meditation retreat and it was great . Not alot of flat areas anywhere outside so plan to be a billy goat to get there and enjoy the view!

If you are traveling in this area and want to spend time in and with nature, I can recommend this accommodation in Wärmstein. It is simple and largely natural, which makes it incredibly attractive. The views are spectacular. Charles and Christian are very friendly and have taken care of everything necessary. A four-wheel drive is an advantage, but everything is also possible on foot if you are not in a hurry. I'd love to come back!

This cabin is super beautiful located in the hills with peaceful nature around it. You need to hike a little trail to get there and the cabin itself is super simple and basic. If it is sunny you can open all doors of it and enjoy the beautiful view around.

Charles is a very accommodating host. The cabin is phenomenally located, I highly recommend it. Not for people looking for luxury, but who want to experience authentic adventures.

We fell in love with this charming cabin in the mountains! Definitely the highlight of our trip in Costa Rica.

Simple, rustic house. Looks like the photos. From the street you can walk about 5 minutes to the house. Good wifi. Fantastic views and quiet. Charles is friendly, helpful and easily accessible. It is worth staying for several days because the region - especially for nature lovers - has a lot to offer (various hikes and waterfalls). Contact Charlie in this regard.

This was our 5th time to Costa Rica, yet to experience anything quite like this stay. We truly were in awe of the surroundings. The drive to location was off the beaten path and visually spectacular. The host was very responsive and we wish we could have spent more time in the area to check out all of his local recommendations. Definitely would stay here again!

A great place to stay in the middle of the mountains with incredible views!!! While the walk is not easy without a car, it is definitely worth it. We did great hikes and could eat fresh bananas. However, you should not be afraid of insects at night, which are attracted to light. We would recommend the place if you don't have a little adventure.

What a beautiful slice of mountain paradise Charles’ cabin is. He was a great host, communicating effectively throughout. The place itself is very memorable, a rustic but handsome treehouse with a magical view of the surrounding areas. As another reviewer mentioned, couples may need to sleep separately in the two beds unless they’re comfortable cuddling all night, as the beds are not quite full double size. Also be aware the footpath access from the road is quite steep as you bring your stuff up. But these weren’t problems for us at all - it’s a really special place, would recommend to anyone.

This has been the most unique stay for us in Costa Rica! The location on top of the crest, and the many windows, made us more connected with the surrounding. The beds are comfy, though couples might sleep separately due to their size. Charles let us pick oranges from his trees, which resulted in delicious juice. It‘s a place for hikers and outdoorsy people. Don‘t bring a suitcase, because of the steep 3 minute approach from the 4x4 required road. Of course some insects will get into the house if you leave the light on, but that‘s part of the experience. Charles was very responsive and gave great directions. As he was not in the country, he organized someone that welcomed us and showed us the place and gave us recommendations of things to do. The area is close to the national park, but off the beaten path. It offers many hikes. We especally enjoyed the hike up to the „Las Piritas“ waterfalls. Overall we had an amazing time at Charlie‘s place and would recommend it any time!

Wow! This property is truly special. Such a unique perspective of local life. Quiet and a great place to feel connected to both earth and sky. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a change of scene/perspective. La Cabina was outfitted with everything I needed to feel comfortable and I was able to get online with ease. Nightlife is just a short drive away as well and everyone is quite friendly. Speaking Spanish is a plus here if you want to get to know your neighbors.
