We had an amazing stay! Francisco was an outstanding host—friendly, responsive, and made sure everything was perfect from the moment we arrived. The housekeeper kept the home spotless and was so kind throughout our stay. The chef was absolutely incredible, preparing delicious meals that made our vacation feel truly special. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area. We would definitely stay here again!

Villa Sophia was the perfect spot for our crew! Birthday celebration with 8 of us. Strongly suggest chef cooked meals!! Stunning views!! Great for relaxing at house and enjoying beach, pool etc. A few restaurants and small grocery within walking distance. Staff were wonderful and Marcel, and his wife Jennifer were quick to respond to answer questions and offer recommendations. Amazing time!!

Villa Sofia provided a serene retreat for a weekend getaway with friends. The beachfront location, pool, and lounge areas were perfect for outdoor meals and games, while the indoor spaces included all that we needed for a relaxing stay. The owners were very responsive to all of our needs and were able to book massages and recommend excellent service providers for catering, transportation, and yoga.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Sofia in Tulum. The location truly couldn’t be better - steps from the ocean, with beautiful views and the most relaxing atmosphere. Waking up to the sound of the waves each morning was such a gift. The home itself was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up for both relaxation and gathering. There was plenty of space for everyone, and the indoor-outdoor flow made it easy to enjoy the beach breeze throughout the day. The kitchen was well-equipped, and we appreciated all the little details that made the stay feel easy and seamless. Communication with the host was smooth and responsive, which made planning and arrival stress-free. Everything was exactly as described, and we felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. It was the perfect setting for quality time with friends and we made memories we’ll carry with us for a long time. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful beach vacation!

We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend this property. The host was very responsive and communicative, which we really appreciated. It was also incredibly helpful to have Francisco, who assisted us with on-site maintenance during our stay—he was kind, attentive, and quick to help. During our stay, our housekeeping team, Adriana and Patty, did an excellent job keeping the house clean and comfortable. We also highly recommend arranging additional services through the host. We had a chef and chef help (Delmer and Helen) and a bartender (Allison), and they were all fantastic. The food, drinks, and attentiveness truly elevated our experience and made for a relaxing and fun bachelorette weekend. We used the pool multiple times and enjoyed the beautiful views. The home has 5 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, which comfortably fit our group of 7 and would easily accommodate up to 10. Overall, a great property that we would gladly recommend.

The pros: This place is beautiful! Stunning setting! Plenty of room, very clean, caretaker on site and daily cleaning service. Jen was incredibly responsive to all of our questions and needs. The beach was fascinating - we saw hermit crabs, a possum, a lightning storm, a funnel cloud and water spout, and even happened upon a nest of sea turtles hatching! Truly incredible! Would stay at this home again and again! The cons: The road!! The road to the place is a dirt road that is incredibly bumpy. It took 10 minutes to get to the place from the main road just because of how poor the road is. Our daughter got car sick every time from the bouncing around. That is the hugest drawback. Also, the beach - while it provided incredible natural experiences during our stay - is NOT a nice sandy beach. It is very bumpy (turtle nests) and covered in bleached coral. Very rocky in the water. It’s beautiful to look at. So if that’s all you care about, this place is gorgeous. But not a beach to play on

Villa Sofia is a beautiful house that looks exactly like the pictures in the listing. Marcel replied to all of my questions within a hour and gave me great information. The staff is fabulous, Francisco the caretaker makes sure that everything is clean outside. The pool is always spotless. He brought us a huge speaker the first day for us to use. The baby turtles were hatching while we were there and he made sure to bring us down to the beach in the evening to watch the release. An experience of a lifetime. Patty and Andrea kept the inside of the house spotless. Everyday they changed the sheets, did the dishes, cleaned the bathrooms and mopped the entire house. It was so relaxing to be there for a week. The house in in a gated community and I walked alone every morning and felt safe. The ocean floor is full of coral and they even have a bin with water shoes for people to use. The dirt road takes a long time to drive but they say it will be paved. Wonderful week with family!

6 friends spent a week at Villa Sofia. We had a great time. The villa is comfortable, clean and the pool is just so nice. Francesco was always there if we needed help and Patricia’s daily cleaning was so appreciated. We hired a chef 2 days for breakfast and dinner and it was absolutely wonderful. Pedro’s cooking was so delicious. We went snorkeling in front of the villa a few times. The beach is rocky but we managed without trouble. The ocean water is so nice and warm. The only negative really is the road to get to the villa. It is really rough and a high clearance car is a must. We loved our week at Villa Sofia and would recommend it to anyone.

We loved the house. Very comfortable, the whole group had a great time at the property. I love that they include the cleaning service. Two very helpful girls did the cleaning and Francisco, the property manager, was always very attentive. We rented the service of Chef Jaime. The food was amazing, the views were very nice, only that there was sargassum but it didn't smell bad. We really enjoyed the pool, the bedrooms were very comfortable. I recommend the property for a family or group of friends.

This place was better than I could have ever imagined, the pictures don’t even do it justice! Marcel’s wife was my contact person and she went above and beyond? helping to coordinate transportation, excursions, massages and chef. They even came every day to make the beds, switch out linens and clean the pool, which we never expected. The best part was that we were right on the beach and it was turtle hatching seasons so every night there would be loads of sea turtles laying their eggs, it was magical. 10/10 recommend staying here, we will be sure to return!
