Excellent, 2 weeks ago

Casa Zula has the most beautiful view of Sayulita. Although the entrance and the incline were too steep, after many attempts, it was possible to get up with a truck. The views are totally worth it We loved being surrounded by so much nature

Paulo’s house was fabulous. We spent a week there with two families. Everyone loved it. Definitely take Paulo’s advice and rent ATV vehicles as the road to the house is steep. We loved Sayulito- explored all the restaurants, beaches, hikes, and simply enjoying the view from the house. Lupita and David, who came daily to straighten up the house were lovely. We felt very well taken care of and would definitely return.

Paulo’s place is stunning. The pictures don’t do it justice. The rooms are spacious and meticulously clean, same as the kitchens and living rooms. Great stay for a group of friends or family. The views are incredible, day or night, we loved spending the afternoons lounging by the pool, and star gazing in the evenings. The house is located on a hill so pay close attention to how to reach the house, because it is quite a steep incline. Paulos instructions were quite helpful. A few minute walk to a beautiful beach. We enjoyed every minute we spent in Sayulita. We’re excited to come back to Paulo’s place.

We stayed here for a bachelorette and had the best time! The sunsets are unbeatable, comfortable semi firm beds, clean space with lots of areas to hang out both inside (in the AC) and outside by the pool plus in the second kitchen upstairs. The cleaner came every few days to collect our garbage, and clean the pool and beds! As mentioned the hill is very steep but not too long! We opted to rent ATVs for part of our stay and it was awesome, we were able to get up with a full 4 & 6 seater side by side without any issues! I would advise against trying to get a golf cart up that incline and go straight for the ATV/side by side!

Our group of 8 had an amazing time in the gorgeous Casa Zula! The home looked just like the photos, had everything we needed for a comfortable stay including cooking in the spacious kitchen, and had the most beautiful views of the ocean. It’s up a serious hill but we found the walk doable, and it was much quieter than being right in the center of town. Paulo was responsive, welcoming, and super helpful. We hope to stay here again someday soon!

Had a great stay at Paulo's place for a group of 8 friends. Well-stocked house and plenty of space for all of us to comfortably sleep. The sunset views are unreal and were a highlight. Had a couple hiccups with the AC and hot water, but Paulo promptly resolved. Having Lupita there for the daily tidy up was a very much appreciated nice touch. Regarding the reviews about the hill, they're real. Very steep and a workout. We ended up not renting ATVs given our short stay, but would probably rent them if we return. Otherwise, an amazing stay!

I rented this spot for my birthday as a group of 10 and we had an absolute blast. The two kitchens were luxurious and had plenty of space for a chef to come to prepare dinner one night. Having en suite bathrooms in every room was so helpful with a big group and having AC in each room was also a life saver. Lupita is so diligent in her cleaning and Paulo was incredibly responsive. To echo many other reviews on here, the views are stunning because you do have to climb a bit of a cobblestone mountain to get to the Airbnb — we treated it like our daily workout :) the other thing to note is that sound travels from the beach so would recommend ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. 5/5 would stay again!

A perfect stay with Paulo! The space was clean, and kept tidy with a daily visit from the housekeeper, Lupita. The view from the pool was beautiful, a private view of the trees and the beach. Once you get down the mountain, there are some quick local spots nearby, and a quick drive to either the beach, shops, or nearby bars and restaurants. Could also walk if you don't have a golf cart! Also, we had some unexpected travel delays, and our host was more than flexible with us to help us stay another day while we sorted out our travel home. I hope that we are able to come back to Sayulita soon, and if so, we will be coming back to this perfect home

The place is amazing, high end finishes, breath taking views. The whole group loved the accommodation for 8 people! The hill up to the place is steep, it can be walked, we did a combo of walking and using a rented ATV (about $90 USD a day) to get people to and from town. Which was a great time in itself. The hill brings with it awesome views and sunsets from the house. Can’t say enough to just book it. Paulo was awesome, so helpful with transport booking, recommendations, etc.

Paulo’s place was absolutely amazing—easily one of the most beautiful spots in Sayulita. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and Paulo was a fantastic, attentive host. One important tip: definitely get a 4x4 to reach the house. The road up is very steep. If you’re renting a sedan or a two-wheel-drive, make sure it’s powerful and avoid loading the car heavily—we struggled to make it up with a full car and needed multiple attempts. Thankfully, Paulo helped us rent ATVs, which turned out to be the perfect solution. We used them for most of the trip and barely needed the car afterward. Highly recommend both the stay and the ATVs.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at Casa Zula! The home is even more beautiful than the photos and had everything we needed. It is clear the space has been careful designed with attention to every detail. It is perfectly set up for large groups and we especially loved each bedroom having its own private bathroom. The outdoor living space is phenomenal with stunning sunset views from every level. And to top it all off the beautiful variety of potted plants around the porches made it feel like you were surrounded by jungle. Paulo was a lovely host and made sure we were taken care of at every turn. What was probably most impressive was how such a large space was so attentively cared for by our housekeeper. Every corner was spotless! We cannot recommend this vacation home enough and are already looking forward to our next stay! As a side note, while the hill to get to the home is quite steep as described we had no problem driving it with our 2WD rental cars or any of t

casa Zula is one of the best spots I’ve ever been to. The house is built in three floors, which each floor has a room of its own all areas in the house have an amazing view to the beach forest and mountains. Paulo helped us out with everything we needed and was very helpful. I am super happy with my choice of pick and I will definitely be going back to Casa Zula once I’m in Sayulita again. Once again, thanks a lot for the amazing stay !

We had a great time at Paolo’s place! Beautiful view, gorgeous house, very clean. The daily housekeeping was a great bonus. The house was even bigger than we expected. The hill to get up to the house is as described but we found it walkable. Construction next door was also as described in Paolo’s listing but the workers were respectful and followed construction hours. Overall we enjoyed our time and would definitely recommend!

Casa Zula was a dream! The house was spectacular and the kitchen very well appointed; our party cooked great meals every day and we lacked for nothing. While one room had two adults and two younger people and one room had three adults, there still was plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. The view and sound of the ocean was both restorative and awesome. Many of us enjoyed the small pool and we all enjoyed eating and game around the two large tables. Please note that Casa Zula rests atop a ~500 meter climb of ~30 degrees grade, so folks with mobility issues may consider renting a golf cart. There’s plenty to explore in Sayulita and the food choices fantastic! Moreover there are many shops that offer all you need to prepare meals. If you’re a larger crowd however, a stop at a large grocery store in PV may be prudent. Our gang made wonderful memories at Casa Zula and I’m sure you will too.

A beautiful spot out of the chaos of Sayulita. I will say getting our suitcases up the hill was a bit of a mission but once we hired ATV buggies it was great. So peaceful and beautiful with breathtaking views. It was clean with hot water enough for everyone staying. Loved it and highly recommend

Fantastic spot, very clean and exactly like the photos. We're a relatively fit crew... the hill is no joke as per the other reviews and the airbnbs description (they arnt lying). The local taxis are able to make it up the hill but Ubers from the airport are unable to (so pack light). Do not recommend renting a car unless 4x4 or awd. Would pick the hill over staying directly in Sayulita, as it's pretty loud in town and the view is incredible. As per the description, there is construction next door during the day - but again I would pick it over the loud nightlife at another spot. I would recommend for sure, and Pablo is very good at giving the place an accurate description. Thank you for the awesome stay and hope to see you again!

Beautiful home up a hill with multiple levels so lots of stairs so it was challenging for a recent knee replacement guest.

Host Response

Hello Bob, we’re happy you enjoyed your stay with us. I’m sorry that it was uncomfortable for you due to your recent knee replacement, I can understand that. Nonetheless, in the property’s information it is written and specified that there are multiple levels in the house, and therefore many stairs.

The place is beautiful. Super-equipped and complete. Towels for everything and even beach umbrellas. It's luxurious everything, we were super comfortable. The only drawback was the arrival. The climb is heavy walking. And on the vans, you could climb the stones; but when it was wet or raining it was dangerous and one of the vans got stuck. We were told by taxis that they don't even go up if it's raining or slippery.

It's the best Airbnb I've ever stayed at! Paulo is very attentive and kind. When we arrived, Lupita (the cleaning person) welcomed us and is wonderful and very friendly. The hill the house is on is heavy but once you cross it, the view is wonderful. We crossed the hill walking and it was difficult, and then we got a taxi that took us to the house. The house is beautiful and in a very peaceful area. I want to go back to Sayulita and stay there again.

10/10 would recommend!!! We had an awesome time at this place! The views are absolutely amazing and made every morning feel special. The kitchen was fantastic—everything was high-end and made cooking a breeze. We especially loved the beautiful wood dining table; it was perfect for our family meals. The beds were super comfy, and we slept like babies every night. Our host was great, really friendly and quick to respond to any questions we had. They also gave us some great tips on local spots to check out. Overall, this place is a gem! If you want a spot with killer views, a great kitchen, and comfy beds, this is it. We’ll definitely be back! Do keep in mind it is at a top of a steep hill (which is walkable if you choose to do that, but renting a golf cart would be advisable).

The place is amazing!!!! A lot of privacy, the only noise you hear is that of the waves of the sea and the birds, we had no problems with the fauna. The view is completely wonderful, the place is more beautiful than what is published. The cleanliness is impeccable, it has all the amenities and the rooms are excellent and very comfortable. The host greeted us on arrival personally and called my attention that it was in a very personalized way. If they are traveling to sayulita is the best option. Definitely my family and I will return without thinking.

Our stay at Casa Zula was wonderful. It's beautiful to wake up early and listen to the birds singing, as well as the sound of the waves. The mattress and sheets are of very good quality, so we rested peacefully. The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you need to prepare even a banquet. We loved cooking there. The pool has the perfect temperature and a spectacular sunset view. Paulo, the host, was always super attentive to everything and made us feel at home, and Lupita took care of keeping everything spotless. Going up the street is steep, but we had no problem with that. I highly recommend staying in this space, which is close to everything but very private. We will be back!

Beautiful home on the hills of Sayulita. Paulo was super responsive to any requests. Daily cleaning, and the pool was perfection for nightly sunsets. Be advised there is quite the hill to get up to the home, however a golf cart was more then enough and the view was 100% worth it.

When arriving, we were surprised by the fact that there was construction occurring two feet away from the edge of this house (listing was updated after booking). Members of the crew are at the site for 24 hours each day. Not indicated on the listing is the fact that this is a shared building with the hosts (it is incorrectly listed as entire home at time of review), meaning that the host was located in the same house while we were staying there. Not only this, but their family cat and a couple of strays made themselves at home in the kitchen and living room. We could frequently hear the host listening to a programme, and this paired with the noise from the construction for most of the day meant that the space was difficult to enjoy. The hosts are wonderful, offering to sell food items and responded to every question and concern, including calling the construction manager about the music blasting from the site. View is incredible. Rent a golf cart for the hill it takes to get there

Host Response

Dear Hugo, I am sorry that you were surprised by things that were very explicitly expressed in our ad, such as being next to a house under construction, that there are trusted workers living there, and that we, the hosts, live in an INDEPENDENT unit above the Airbnb just like neighbors do and you did not respect the hours of silence meant to be to have a calm rest for everyone. The house rules shared to you as well explained that we are in a wild an open area, where some wild or feral animals can be. Our house cat never wonders downstairs to the Airbnb. I appreciate though that you saw the great effort my whole team made in order to make your stay as best as possible.
