This is an amazing place! In the middle of the jungle with birds and monkeys all around! Betzayda was really helpful with info and recommendations!! I really recommend this place on Ometepe!! Rent a scooter locally( for really cheap) and enjoy the island!! You won't regret it!! ❤️

Very nice cottage, spacious, well equipped. Fresh veggies from the farm were a nice touch. Would recommend having a vehicle to get around.

We had a very nice stay in the middle of nature. The communication was flawless, and they helped us organize the journey from Granada – everything worked out perfectly. We had a few crawling animals in the accommodation, which is to be expected in the surroundings in the middle of the countryside and was not a problem for us. We also heard howler monkeys every morning and once saw them. The accommodation is a bit off the beaten track of Balgüe (about a 15-minute walk to the start of the village), but that was no problem with the scooter. They also helped us organize the scooters, and they were brought to the accommodation for us. Upon arrival, we even found fresh eggs and vegetables. Thank you again for that. It was super delicious! We would book the place again anytime.

I would definitively recommend this house to stay on Ometepe! Very good location on the island & the food recommendations were amazing. Bonus points for the coffee in the kitchen, very good one!

My family and I had a very pleasant stay in Balgue in Benedict and Betzaida's house. Excellent feeling of being immersed in the middle of nature, especially at night and in the morning when the forest wakes up! The house is comfortable and close to the village of Balgue where you absolutely must try the Campestre coffee that the owners of the house supply with fresh products from their farm and which offers excellent cuisine. If you love nature, go with your eyes closed, you will love Casa Mono Congo!

The stay was wonderful

The house is in a great location - private, no sounds but those of nature, gorgeous garden around the property. You probably want to rent a bike or an atv, as the island is not very walkable (things are far away from each other by walking distance). Ben helped organize the atv rental for us, so that was easy. The house is very spacious and the bathrooms are great (no hot water, but the weather was pretty hot, so that was fine). There is no glass in the windows, so if you're a delicacy for mosquitoes (as I am), this may be difficult for you to stay here, as they get through the nets. But both my friends were fine, so that's just my issue, I didn't reduce the rating for that, but wanted to note for awareness. The hosts are super helpful and responsive. My friend got sick, and they helped with getting her tested by a med person from a lab. They also brought over coconuts and chicken soup for her. We got some local produce and eggs from Ben's farm, those were delightful. Great stay overall

Wow! This was an incredible experience. The house is in the middle of the jungle and permaculture farm. You are surrounded by all kinds of birds, monkeys and natural beauty. We felt reenergized and at peace after staying here. Highly recommended!
