Casa Mono Congo is a modern, elegant cottage with verandas overlooking the farm, forests and lake. The house is within Finca Campestre with trails to explore the farm. It is about 15 minute from Balgue centre with paved road and level parking. It is very tranquil with little noise besides that of nature. We have abundant deer, guatusa, howler monkeys and red squirrels as well as many birds and butterflies within the farm year round, so wildlife spotting is something you can do from your veranda. The space There is a level parking area right in front of the house, with steps leading to a covered entrance patio with table and seating. Inside is a shared space with lounge, dining and kitchen leading to the 2 bedrooms. Vista del Lago is the front lakeside room and El Jardin face the Maderas volcano but also with views of the lake. Guest access All guests can use the shared communal area and parking facilities. Renting the whole house gives you access to all spaces and gardens.

Location is great, close to restaurants and main attractions. The house is private and has beautiful views. Benedict was super responsive and helped us with a few things.

I would definitively recommend this house to stay on Ometepe! Very good location on the island & the food recommendations were amazing. Bonus points for the coffee in the kitchen, very good one!

Ma famille et moi avons passé un séjour très agréable à Balgue dans la maison de Benedict et Betzaida. Excellente sensation d’être immergé en pleine nature, surtout la nuit et le matin lorsque la forêt se réveille ! La maison est confortable et proche du village de Balgue où vous devez absolument tester le café Campestre que les propriétaires de la maison alimentent en produits frais de leur ferme et qui propose une excellente cuisine. Si vous aimez la nature, foncez les yeux fermés vous allez adorer la Casa Mono Congo !

The house is in a great location - private, no sounds but those of nature, gorgeous garden around the property. You probably want to rent a bike or an atv, as the island is not very walkable (things are far away from each other by walking distance). Ben helped organize the atv rental for us, so that was easy. The house is very spacious and the bathrooms are great (no hot water, but the weather was pretty hot, so that was fine). There is no glass in the windows, so if you're a delicacy for mosquitoes (as I am), this may be difficult for you to stay here, as they get through the nets. But both my friends were fine, so that's just my issue, I didn't reduce the rating for that, but wanted to note for awareness. The hosts are super helpful and responsive. My friend got sick, and they helped with getting her tested by a med person from a lab. They also brought over coconuts and chicken soup for her. We got some local produce and eggs from Ben's farm, those were delightful. Great stay overall
