We loved the location, super close to everything, the mall is half a block from the house. And what can I say about the beauty of the city of Cartagena?

The house was in an excellent location within the walled city, easily walkable to everything. We felt safe with security guards outside the door, and the home-cooked breakfast prepared for us was excellent! Each of the bedrooms had their own air conditioning, which was wonderful and necessary, and the small plunge pool (think large-ish hot tub with cold water) was a delight. Unfortunately the set up of the house is more like a former hostel: the layout is great if you're traveling with strangers, but our extended family of 12 struggled to find a spot we could all be together comfortably. We moved plastic chairs up and down stairs depending on whether we were trying to eat a meal together or lounge in a living room type space (could barely fit at a squeeze). For meals, we had to slide a heavy iron table across the house and the kids had to squat under the staircase. Overall it was a great place, but perhaps not ideal for groups wanting to spend to spend time together at home.
