Stay with Olivier

Our stay was really great, the bungalows are even more beautiful than in the photos, it is super clean, the kitchen is well furnished and nothing is missing. We stayed here as a family with toddler and baby and can definitely recommend the place. The garden is beautiful and you can relax by the pool and enjoy the beautiful nature. We stayed here for a week and you can really do a lot and Olivier has great tips. Olivier and Isabelle are really very nice hosts and go out of their way to make sure nothing is missing. They are both very lovely and ready to help and advise. We had an great and very relaxing time here and can definitely recommend the place. Breakfast should also be tasted, there is homemade baguette and delicious homemade mango jam.

The phidgie lodge was was cozy and charming. We enjoyed the simplicity of our bungalow and really embracing the Costa Rican motto of 'pura vida'. The pool area is breathtaking and we spent many days and nights out there. There are so many unique and beautiful plants out there, looking up the sky at any time of day (or night) is so gorgeous and the way you are nestled within the plants really give you private view. Our favorite part was the view of it all with the full moon one night - it was a gorgeous scene. Oliver and Isabelle were great communicative hosts, took great care of us, and kept the property well upkeep and clean every day. They also had great recommendations of activities and helped us book excursions. If you like snorkeling and get the chance to go on the snorkeling tour at cano island with la perla del sur, do it! We're so glad Isabelle and Oliver recommended it to us. Oliver is also a very friendly and funny host with tons of stories, make sure you chat with him a bit too when you stay!

We stayed here almost four years ago and were lucky enough to stay again on this visit to southern Costa Rica. You can expect friendly hosts, good local tips, a beautiful garden, and a comfortable stay. There are nice beaches and great food options nearby. Ojochal is also a good place to stay for wildlife tours based out of Sierpe or before heading south to Corcovado or Golfito. Highly recommend staying here!

Perfect welcome. Olivier and Isabelle for their kindness and availability allowed us to have a perfect stay. They took care of advising us perfectly and even booked us the towers that matched what we were looking for. The house is conveniently located in one of the most beautiful areas of Costa Rica, a location that allows you to do everything within a close radius. The car (4X4) is essential for me to be able to do everything. Olivier and Isabelle allowed our son to have a dream vacation and for that we will always be grateful to them.

First and foremost: Olivier and Isabelle deserve to be given super host status. Class individuals, and truly want your stay to be better than you could hope. Would most definitely stay with them again!

Great place in an absolutely amazing setting. Hosts were very accommodating. Ojochal is a small town. For groceries Uvita is the best option. For really good bread ask Olivier or Isabelle for the good French bakery. Don't end up going to the wrong one all week like we did 😁

We loved Olivier and we loved Ojochal!! It was so beautiful. Their place was very handiaccessible for our son. It was so much and beautiful and we ate by the pool a few times. They are so nice and understanding and positive and good people! It was within walking distance to the super market which is a requirement for everywhere I stay as my son has dietary needs. It was everything it looks like and more! My only regret is that we could not stay longer than the three nights that I booked it. Perfect place and best play to stay in Ojochal!!! xoxo

A slice of heaven in Costa Rica. A must-see on the South Pacific coastline. I'm not going to repeat everything that has been said, so I'll talk more about the location. Nameuse excursions à proximité : Manuel Antonio, Isla Del Cano, Corcovado, Nauyaca Waterfall, Hacienda Baru, Reserve de la Borruca etc... Good restaurant nearby, French bakery and we enjoy all this in a perfectly clean lodge, very well equipped, with a garden and a dream pool. Thank you both

First stop of our stay in Costa Rica in a real little paradise. A total awakening of our senses: the hearing with bird song in the early morning, the smell with the scents of ylang ylang and orange tree, the view with this beautiful wooded garden and the multitude of animals that live there. Indeed, it is not uncommon to be able to see a toucan, an iguana, a trogon, a squirrel, a hummingbird, a butterfly... As for the bungalows, you feel really good there, the atmosphere is cozy thanks to the tastefully decorated. The pool looks like a small Oasis with the plants around it and the different resting areas. And finally, the owners Olivier and Isabelle were exceptional because of their welcome, their availability, their advice and their kindness. Unforgettable moments in an amazing location.

Beautifully landscaped garden around the pool with impressive biodiversity, making it feel like you're dipping into the middle of a rainforest. My sister and I's stay at Phidjie Lodge was short but sweet! We wish we could have stayed longer. It was easy to find, and the property was beautiful. The plants, the lighting, the walkway and the bright colours made everything feel magical. Our llittle bungalow had everything we could possibly need, and it was amazing listening to the thunderstorms at night. We hope we'll be able to make it back again sometime!

We had a fantastic stay at Phidjie Lodge! The bungalow was wonderfully decorated and stocked, with everything we needed for our family of four (with two kids aged 5 and 3). We made good use of the lovely pool. The garden is amazing; we saw huge iguanas, all kinds of birds, squirrels, etc. just hanging out in the garden. Olivier and Isabelle are wonderful hosts. They are always available (they have a house on the property), super friendly and funny; a highlight of our trip was getting to know this great couple. They also gave great advice on restaurants and things to do in the area, and helped us reserve tours. Fully recommend!

Our stay at the Phidgie Lodge was wonderful. Olivier and Isabelle were amazing hosts and the property is stunning. The photos look amazing but the place is truly magical and the bungalows are adorable and very comfortable. I would definitely reccomend the daily poolside breakfast option as we did one of the mornings and it was so lovely. Thank you to Olivier and Isabelle for getting my first trip to Costa Rica started right with this beautiful place. Do not miss this gem of you are visiting Costa Rica!

We felt very much at home and one with the nature at Phidge Lodge. We really discovered and fell in love with Costa Rica. The lush gardens, the most relaxing pool and most extraordinary & funny hosts Olivier & Isabelle made us feel very much at home and part of our family. There is a grocery store near by and we were able to pick up dinner essentials and cook. For a small fee we were treated to most delicious breakfast (and we are big foodies so when we say delicious we mean just that). The place is close to town and the highway, close to amazing waterfalls and restaurants; there is a french community & Lots to do in Ojochal and our hosts were so helpful setting tours up for us and giving up tips on what to do. A 4x4 suv is helpful in this part of Costa Rica. You need to let go and embrace what this country has to offer. We would love to return. Merci ;) Alina & Barry

Loved this place! The beautiful garden, the nice pool, breakfast, all was perfect. When arriving thought the room was maybe a bit too small for the 4 of us but everything turned out to be okido for our stay. Enough to see in the surrounding, the waterfalls, the ocean and the beautiful nature. Got good advices from Olivier and Isabelle too. Friendly host who are there when you need them! Recommended to everyone who wants to see this part of Costa Rica.

Olivier and Isabella are wonderful people and their place is absolutely gorgeous. They have put so much time and effort into the landscaping that every inch of the property is bursting with color and intoxicating fragrances. Loved the little cabinas and the pool. You definitely want to splurge and have them cook breakfast at least one morning, it was an enormous amount of food, all delicious. We will definitely be staying here again next trip to Costa Rica!

The hosts are super sweet, friendly and honest people. The property is a huge luscious garden full of wildlife. Can't wait to come back again.

Absolutely fantastic. Olivier and Isabelle are wonderful hosts who gave their time to educate us in the surrounding areas and local wildlife and flora. The lodge was great, comfortable beds, good shower, mini kitchen which we used. The property was more than expected and the locale is stunningly beautiful. Our first morning we had a Delicious breakfast by the pool - felt like we were in heaven! The pool area was great to cool off when the heat gets too much.. Would highly recommend and if in the area again would want to stay here.

This was a truly remarkable place to stay. We expected it to be beautiful but the pictures do not do it justice. We came to Costa Rica looking for paradise and found it in the Phidjie Lodge! The small lodge itself was wonderful. GREAT for a romantic setting. We didn't spend much time inside, though, because we wanted to be out and about - even when we came home. The reason we didn't want to be inside when we came home was because the pool is amazing. Olivier built the deck himself, and it is the perfect place to sit and relax after a day of trekking to beaches, sanctuaries or national parks. The pool is nice and cool and the wildlife in the trees around the pool is amazing. We saw hummingbirds, toucans, lizards, iguanas, and squirrels. It was as if the wildlife sanctuary was brought to us. Also, Olivier and his wife are just wonderful people. Sooooo kind, so sweet, so helpful! They gave us great advice, and were so respectful of us. This is a steal. Wonderful, wonderful place to stay!! You absolutely must stay there if you are choosing to be in the area. We visited Uvita Beach, Manuel Antonio, and Domincal from Ojochal. Heads up if you stay here - the restaurant Exotica was amazing - you must have a dinner there. Also, be careful on the drive through Ojochal because over one creek crossing there is a drop off that is disguised by the grass. Just stay on the road, don't drive through the grass.

We had the BEST time at Phidjie Lodge. The gardens are a fantastic bird watching adventure. We loved waking up to hummingbirds and grey necks playing. The house was cozy and had everything we needed. Olivier and Isobel are a delight, so sweet and friendly. They were right there with anything we needed. Ojochal is a cute little nook a short bumpy drive to the great beaches of the area. We would gladly come back:)

Olivier and Isabelle are like instant family when you get to their oasis. It has two bungalows which have exceptional design and wood work (by Olivier who aside from other things, is a professional carpenter). The garden around them oozes with life, fragrances and sounds. The pool area is great to hang out at with a table and a roof deck. The location is exceptional with walking distance to some of the island's best restaurants. Ambience at Phidjie is truly exceptional.

Isabelle and Olivier are a wonderful couple who are the hardest working hosts we've met yet through Airbnb who want to make your visit to this part of the world a memorable time. Their place is just darling. And the accommodations are very adequate, it has everything you can need. We are very happy to have chosen this place to stay during our visit to Costa Rica. Thank you!
