I want to inform anyone unaware like I was, we came in July and did not realize in Costa Rica it gets dark around 6pm - this house is hard to find at night if uou arrive after dark like we did. However this was not the hosts fault, she provide amazing instructions on how to get to the house. It was peaceful and relaxing just what we needed for the first half of our trip! Someone left a review saying the ocean is not swimable, I'm not sure what they were referring too, it was nice and easy to swim in, paddle board and wade in.

The place is a dream, a beautiful accommodation with a beautiful view. You do have to pay close attention when you get to the spot, but it is marked and with all the directions Florencia gives, it is easy to get there. It is better to have a car with at least 4x2. I would go back a thousand more times. My family and I enjoyed it very much. The photos don't do the beauty of the place justice, and Florencia is a sweetheart. She responds quickly and is super friendly. We loved everything!

The house 🦀 is beautiful! That oceanfront view is spectacular! It allowed us to spend a few quiet days as a family. To access the house, you need to use a 4x4 vehicle. We didn't have one, but we still received immediate help from the owners to get into the property. We will definitely be back here!

This was just as advertised! Great location for an authentic Costa Rican experience!

Awesome stay

Cannot speak enough about Flor’s responsiveness! There were a couple of small wildfires in the area and she was great at keeping us informed and not worried about it at all. The property was awesome - hearing the waves at all time was so peaceful!

This place was amazing and offered our group exactly what we were looking for. The surroundings were beautiful, the place was unique but offered everything we needed, and the host was great. We had a great experience and I would definitely recommend.

LOCATION - This home is in the lush jungle area, dense with vegetation and animals. I highly recommend a 4x4. Reflective poles mark the entrance to the property, and the trail to the home is a severe incline/decline. ROOMS - Beds are comfortable, and each room has a/c, a shower, a toilet, and a sink. The home is off-grid. Prepare for possible water and power shortages. The staff works fast to resolve issues. KITCHEN - The rustic full kitchen with refrigerator, cube freezer, laundry washer/dryer, 30 cup coffee pot, air fryer, toaster oven, panini press, and blender. They also have a full stove/oven and barbecue grill. Plenty of plates, cups, glasses, and a bottled water dispenser. ACTIVITIES - The home has beautiful outdoor seating to enjoy the secluded views, a small, refreshing pool, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. Excellent restaurant and tour resources a 5 minute walk down the beach. AFFORDABILITY - Villa Cangrejo is a perfect stay for a group to experience PURA VIDA!

This is the second time we have visited this place, it is just wonderful! It has everything you need to spend spectacular family time! We will definitely be back!

Flor is amazing, when a family emergency forced us to change our plans, she accommodated us with understanding and zero hesitation. When we finally arrived, we were blown away. The home is truly unique with a rustic, bohemian charm. A perfect retreat for adventurous families looking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Costa Rica. After reaching the red and white pole marking the property entrance, the drive to the house can feel a bit intimidating. Just take it slow and follow the white on green arrow signs. During our stay, we were lucky enough to be visited by iguanas and monkeys. The beach, at high tide, it’s great for swimming. Just note that the water isn't crystal clear, as it’s a bay with a a silty bottom, but it has its own kind of beauty. Overall, we had a fantastic time. We were able to unplug just enough to relax, but still had reliable Wi-Fi when we needed it. Thank you, Flor, for sharing your special place with us.

Flor’s place is a magical, delightful, private and rustic place. It is truly unique and enchanting. We loved sitting outside watching the monkeys climb over our heads. The pool was great on hot days. We appreciated the washer and dryer. The nature all around is gorgeous. The outdoor kitchen was fun and almost felt like camping with modern conveniences. We loved the remoteness and peacefulness of this place. You definitely need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The hills are no joke, but fun! The views are spectacular!

Our family of 8 had the best time adventuring at this location. If you have a big family and are considering a trip for an authentic jungle experience, this is the place to go, and you CAN do it! We have 6 kids ranging from 17 to four years old. We rented two 4x4 vehicles, which was cheaper than a van, and also better for road sickness. Just made sure our cell phones would work and navigating was pretty seamless. The property itself is so spacious and was even better than we expected based on the photos and description because you really cannot accurately describe a place like this, though I do agree with “unique” and “magical.” Flor was an amazingly responsive host—she made us feel confident before we even left the states. There is so much we would still love to do, but our kids all enjoyed the jungle hikes, beaches, excellent fresh restaurant meals, and especially the bioluminescence (we did this just up the beach) and fishing tours we took. We would love to return!

So peaceful and quiet. The property and location were ideal for an off-the-beaten path experience. A little restaurant down the beach for ceviche and beer. Flor is an amazing hostess. She was extremely prompt and helpful in regard to everything. She gave fantastic recommendations for travel instructions before we even arrived; and then food, water transportation, and activities to try in the area while we were there. She made sure that we had the things we needed to be comfortable without intruding on the solitude that we were craving. Thank you so much Flor!
