Super nice accommodation right on the sea

Both the house and Rodrigo's service were impeccable; the housekeeper, Jeny, was very kind and showed us all the house's amenities. Upon arrival, they welcomed us with a basket of delicious snacks and wine. Every detail made us feel right at home. The beds, pillows, and towels were all super clean. As a recommendation, LA PALAPA DE DOÑA CHABELA LA PATA (José served us), which is very close to the house. They deliver your food, and it's also delicious—don't miss the fish ceviche, chivita, and coconut shrimp. Overall, a nice stay; we would definitely come back. The details and the service provided

Rodrigo is an excellent host; the house is as advertised. He is super friendly, kind, and attentive. I loved that both the towels and the bed linens are white, which speaks to the excellent cleanliness. I loved that he left us a basket with snacks, treats, and coffee. Wi-Fi. Perfect beach access! Rodrigo’s home was such a great location we loved being able to walk along the beach we loved our time there for our whole family.

Rodrigo’s place is a hidden gem in the quaint town of Celestun. We walked the beach to some great restaurants: our favorites were La Palapa and Los Pompanos. Rodrigo introduced us to Henry who picked us up early one morning for a flamingo boat tour. What a tremendous experience! Rodrigo and Henry were so gracious and helpful making our stay in Celestun very memorable!

Great place. Clean, with everything you need for a pleasant and relaxing stay. There were 8 of us guests, all comfortable and at ease. Clean pool, ideal for families. Nearby store, places to eat traditional Yucatan dishes. Beach a few steps behind the house, very enjoyable beach, gentle waves, shallow, Wow sunsets! Community center 4 blocks away, there is a pharmacy, fruit shop, shops, ice cream, simple places to eat. Quiet town, friendly people. The walk to the Ría, we saw flamingos, dolphins and various birds. Celestún, a delightful little town, and Casa de Rodrigo, even more so. We'll be back.

We had the most wonderful time staying at Rodrigo's house. The location is absolutely priceless, you literally open up the garden gates and you're on the beach and can walk straight into the sea. And watch the beautiful sunsets! The place is brilliant, retro/slightly art deco style, with big bedrooms and a great pool. Rodrigo is lovely, super attentive, helpful and from Celestune so knows everyone in town. Speaks good English as well as, of course, Spanish. Celestun is a small place so everything is within walking distance (or you can grab a moped-taxi if you want) and when we were there in August it was really quiet, mainly people coming on day-trips from Merida, but not so many other tourist staying in town. Yes, it was rain-season, but we still had glorious sunshine every day and only rain some of the afternoons/evenings, at which point it was normally a relief from the heat. Celestun has greengrocers, cafes restaurants, ice-cream, off-licences, a Willy's but no super market

We stayed at the house for a weekend and had a wonderful experience. The house is beautiful, very comfortable, clean, and peaceful. We especially appreciated the privacy it offered. Its location is excellent, with downtown just a short distance away, giving us easy access to a variety of restaurants and shops. Rodrigo was an exceptionally kind and attentive host, always quick to respond to our messages and provide support. We definitely look forward to returning for our next vacation.

From the first moment, Rodrigo was extremely attentive (this was before our arrival at the house). It made us feel right at home, as the residence is extremely cozy. It was our first time in Celestún and we were thrilled to be in a place like this. The house is exactly as described and in the photos, it has a perfect location for everyone to have a good time. Everyone, without exception, was able to enjoy not only the facilities, but the surroundings to the fullest. We certainly hope to return soon and enjoy this beautiful place for more days.

Rodrigo was very friendly and helpful. He personally greeted us for check in and showed us around. The house is right on the water and very pleasant. Most of the time it was very quiet at night. The house is large and pleasant. It is on the gulf with salt spray and this has taken a toll on the house. Learn where the electrical breaker box is located. You will need it. It is an easy walk to several pleasant restaurants.

Rodrigo is great. The house was great for a large crowd and very walkable.

My review is of the host and the place. Rodrigo went above and beyond as a host. We felt that we were visiting a relative. We needed some help in Celestun because of an injury and Rodrigo helped as much as he could. For this, he deserves 10 out of 5 stars! His welcoming us to his home and his help was the highlight of our stay. The place is amazing. It's probably the most unique home one could book in Tulum. Everyone in our group of four raved about the place. Because it is on the beach, it does show wear and tear, and just there months ago, the entire town was flooded from hurricane storm surge. It is great to see Celestun and the wonderful home back on its feet.

Loved everything!! Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 teens) just spent 9 magical nights at Maria del Mar. This is such a special property - the house is decadent and sprawling with and incredible outdoor space right on a stunning beach. It is an older property so do not expect perfection, as others have mentioned, but that is part of the charm. Beds and bedding are great and kitchen is well stocked. We felt so at home here and spent our days lounging on the patio and going between the pool, beach, and hammocks.There are tons of great dining options serving up amazing seafood right on the beach and everything is within walking distance from the house. The locals are friendly and welcoming. Finally, Rodrigo is a wonderful and welcoming host who will cater to your every need. He provided a large welcome basket filled with snacks, cold beer, coffee, and endless water. We are seasoned travellers and this was definitely one of our favourite house rentals ever. Gracias, Rodrigo!!!

We loved our 2-week stay at Maria Del Mar. The house is very spacious and comfortable. We were a family of 8 (4 adults and 4 children ages 4-10) and even had 2 extra friends join us for a few days and the house easily accommodated all of us. It has a pool, a charcoal BBQ, a large table on the covered patio facing the beach and is right on the sand. It is within easy walking distance of simple markets and stores to buy food and beach-side restaurants with delicious seafood. The beach is very special, full of spectacular shells and soft sand, flying fish, and sea stars. Rodrigo was very welcoming and accommodating. He also very promptly responded to any issues that arose and quickly arranged garbage pick-up, extra cleanings and and minor repairs we requested. We would highly recommend this place for families looking for a quiet town on the beach.

you won't find a better place to stay in Celestun! I hope to return with my family.

We had a wonderful stay. There was plenty of room for our big family over the Christmas holidays. The house is located directly on the beach with beautiful sunsets, and it was easy to access restaurants a little ways down the beach and is a short walk to town. We would stay again for sure!

We were there a few days ago. We came to view the eclipse — which was awesome. The house is right on the beach — and is amazing — very spacious and clean. We intended on going to restaurants during our four-day stay — but the house was so well stocked with cookware — and there is a tienda /store a half block away — we ended up cooking in. (We did go out one night) However, there are a lot of restaurants to choose from, most within walking distance. The house overall is a chunk of paradise — the ocean and sound of the surf. And Rodrigo is a super host. Most accommodating and gracious. 🤗 We look forward to returning!

The house is beautiful, exceeded our expectations, the photos are short with reality. Rodrigo is an excellent host who is always attentive and responding instantly. The welcome detail was a caress to the soul. Every area of the house was super clean and spacious, the kitchen equipped, the beds comfortable, the pool area has lounge chairs and hammocks, the pool depth is great for guys and big, we had a lot of fun. The place is very quiet and the beach is not to say, I loved seeing the sunsets with my family, we definitely wish to return soon!

We went on a family basis and with a little girl everything was very convenient to have the beach and the sea a few steps away, there is a restaurant a few steps away that we repeated every day we were La Palapa. All out of 10

We had the best time at Rodrigo's house!! We felt like we were staying in a mansion in the middle of Celestun! The beach was beautiful as was the pool! All the restaurants were very close by AND Rodrigo was there for any questions, check in and checked on us throughout our stay! We would definitely go back!!! We did the mangrove tour, boat tour, salt tour and just had fun by the pool- Very relaxing vacation- and with this beautiful house as our home base- we were very happy!!!

We had a lovely stay at Rodrigos. We were 2 families: 4 adults and 4 kids under 9 y/o. The house was large and comfortable, the pool clean and the location perfect for our stay. The house is right on the beach and a short walk along the sand to half-a-dozen restaurants and the launch area for the flamingo boat tours. We cooked several meals and ate out on the patio - the kitchen was well equipped. A/C and fans in all bedrooms and TV/family room (fans only in common spaces). Celestun is a sleepy town with a long beach and scattered fishing boats; it is not Cancun and the house is not a luxury condo - but we had an amazing, relaxing time eating ceviche and fresh fish, chatting with locals, and floating in the Gulf of Mexico. Rodrigo was friendly and welcoming and we would return to both Celestun and his house.

The house is super well located, in front of the beach and close to restaurants. It has a garage in case you go by car, the bathrooms are very clean and everything works well, it has sky on the TV which was very good for watching the football world, communication with Rodrigo was excellent at all times

The house is beautiful and we loved staying there. We would definitely stay there again! We were a group of 8 people, we used all the bedrooms and we did not have any problems. The beds are in perfect condition and are very comfortable. We cooked meals for our big group in a fully furnished kitchen. We were pleasantly surprised by the water cooler that supplied hot and cold purified water. We spent time swimming in the clean pool and at the clear and clean beach. Rodrigo was always checking on us to make sure everything was ok and it always was. If you need anything, just ask Rodrigo. The house is close to downtown Celestun, where you can find the vegetable market, small supermarkets, fruit stores, pharmacies, bakeries and a place to buy meats. We did not go to the nearby restaurants, but they were close by. One piece of advise: look around in drawers. Rodrigo leaves helpful items that you will have in your our home. Rodrigo, thank you for making us feel like we were at home.

Great place, especially for a large group! The house allocates all you may require for a comfortable stay, including a nice private pool and outside yard cooking grill. This house is beautiful, and Rodrigo is very welcoming. There was an issue with the hot water once, but he came over immediately and fixed it. He made it clear that he was available anytime of day, and we felt very at comfortable. The house is very spacious, and the beach is gorgeous. We walked down the street and we’re very close to restaurants and shops. We’re looking forward to another trip to Celestún (and hopefully we can stay here again)!

What can I say? This trip was one of the ones that stayed in your heart forever. We stayed in Maria Del Mar for three days, we appreciate the attention of Rodrigo, who was there to welcomed us, the house is perfect, clean and fresh if you let the doors open, the pool feels perfect, and the beach is in front of the house, making you feel like you have your private beach. Everything is a walking distance but also so away from everything that you’ll feel like you are in a resort. I can’t wait to go back to this amazing place!!!! The host is a 5 stars but he deserves millions of them. Forever grateful for the memories we have made in Maria Del Mar.

Great place to stay. This is the third time we've stayed in Celestun. Hotels are very basic and here we try something different. A house by the sea The photos are very descriptive, it's a big enough house for the 6 (it fits 8 easily) that we went, to the sea shore, very well located , close to downtown and with access to everything a few steps away The house is extremely clean, even though we arrived around midnight, the host welcomed us personally, with the house spotless and a nice touch for our arrival that was very important to us He was always attentive to everything, he supported us on the subject of reservations for a local restaurant that is quite good (La Palapa) and I am happy with the questions we still had I highly recommend it, worth every weight paid and we will certainly be back. It was an incredible experience to have arrived at Rodrigo's house and above all to have been taken care of personally by him, a Superhost with some incredible details as in few airbnb you can find and receive wonderfully, those small details make the difference for an excellent stay, congratulations!!!! The house is incredible, lighting, decor, cleaning, accessories, furniture, and above all the location, with a private beach. The sea was a pool with a rich and clean temperature without seaweed. The pool is very good and everything around it. As few houses, you will find one in relation to the quality price and services. I went on a family trip and on a relaxing plan and found everything I was looking for. Rodrigo was very kind, he responded to all my messages in time, gave us a nice welcome and goodbye, gave us recommendations on where to eat and what to visit. The house was super clean, which is very important for me as I travel with children under 3 years old. The architecture of the house and its location are spectacular. We loved having the sea to ourselves and feeling away from the hustle and bustle but still very safe. We certainly spent a few very pleasant days as a family at Rodrigo's house. Thank you !

Rodrigo was amazing again. We rented the house for my son’s surprise birthday party. We arrived about 2 hours earlier than expected due to the family’s flight arriving a little earlier. But, Rodrigo was very understanding and allowed us to begin to unload and start getting things ready for my wife and son to arrive. This house is HUGE, and perfect for a few couples. The location is excellent, situated right on the beach and just a few minutes walk over to beachside restaurants. Rodrigo is very responsive and friendly!

The house is amazing for a large group, plenty of room inside and out. The sea is a few steps away which is perfect, there are many birds when you reach the sea which makes a breathtaking view. Everything is very comfortable, clean and with details from Rodrigo, very attentive to our needs and doubts always. The second floor is not very kids friendly we say, but the downstairs bedroom makes up for not having to go up with young children. There are also no mosquito nets, so if it is the first time in the tropics I recommend having repellent in hand, usually the sea breeze is taken to the bugs. The entire outdoor area is very comfortable. We'll definitely be back!

Rodrigo is very attentive to your needs. The house is very nice and spacious. It has a pool or you can walk out the back gate and you are on the beach. Restaurants are within walking distance from the house. I will definitely rent here again in the future.

This is hands-down the most beautiful house in Celestun. It is 2-7 walking minutes away from convenience stores, most restaurants in town, and the town center itself. Yet, the house is secluded enough and the beach in front of the house feels practically private. We've literally seen no more than 30 people passing by and we've stayed for two weeks. Rodrigo is the most amazing host. He was very responsive, helpful, and made us feel at home throughout our stay. Thanks again! We'll definitely be back and hopefully soon.
