4BR Villa in Puerto Escondido

Amazing AirBnb and extremely helpful host! Thank you for a great stay. Dan

everything was perfect!

What you see is exactly what you get, and it did not disappoint. Everything was in great condition, and Afrodite provided clear instructions, great local recommendations, and was very responsive to any questions we had. The place is right in the heart of La Punta, Brisas de Zicatela, just minutes walking distance to the beach, shops, and restaurants, located along the main road. We had an amazing stay and truly enjoyed everything the place had to offer. I highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting with a group or family.

We loved staying at Berenice & Raphaël’s, the house is on a quiet street close to alll the restaurants and beach. So there is a feeling of privacy but easy to get everywhere. The space itself is large, and felt like a home. We celebrated the holiday there as a family. Everyone felt like they had their own private space and we all gathered at the kitchen to play pingpong and relax. The flexibility with check in really helped us. Extremely friendly communication and helpful.

Sort of like staying in a tree house as most of the spaces are completely open-air…This is fun but not totally comfortable. We loved the pool, outdoor shower, outdoor living room, master bedroom and the location, but felt the space could use some upgrades notably in the kitchen which has very antiquated appliances. (Burners don’t work, pans are super old, and water pressure is non existent in kitchen and some bathrooms.) The lack of air conditioner in one of the bedrooms makes it not livable during the hot nights which was a bummer because the bedroom was next door to the master which would have been ideal for my kids to sleep in. There is also not a working TV if that matters to you. Further, the main issue we felt was the sense of micromanagement by the house manager. Lots of little check ins or pop ins and I had asked for a referral for a cook that was provided but then when it came to paying her for services outside of cooking it got awkward. It felt unn. to have her involved.

This place is magic. I stay at Airbnbs all the time, but this place was serious magic. The indoor/outdoor spaces, the pool, the artistic details, and Afrodite, who made us feel at home immediately, even sending us a schedule of live music and pointing out good restaurants and grocers. There was ample space for our family of five, in fact, it felt like everyone had their own suite. And the location was perfect, off the strip, but only two streets away from everything: bars, restaurants, shopping, and the beach. My kids could have stayed forever. I mean, we all could have. We fell in love with Puerto Escondido and Casa Naia.

A great place in the heart of La Punta… the best neighborhood to visit in Puerto Escondido. A few blocks from all the amazing restaurants and of course the best beach in Mexico… Zicatela! 🌊🏖️🏄🏄‍♀️🧜‍♀️ This place is so unique and such a great experience. It feels like it’s been there for generations as a surfers home. Unique artifacts, unique architecture, great living areas. The perfect puerto experience. The place is not without some flaws, could use a few updates… it truly feels like a home instead of a vacation rental…. but if you want sparkling clean with no personality… than go stay in a hotel 😂 For my tastes… it was a 5 star experience. I will be coming back for sure. This place feels like the heart of Puerto Escondido!

Excellent service from Afrodita, always attentive to any questions and excellent recommendations for local food. The house looked exactly as shown in the photos and was always clean. The location is excellent and very close to restaurants and the beach. I would go back.

Host Response

Thank you! My pleasure to host you! We are waiting for you here.

This place is full of eclectic boho vibes. Aphrodite checked us in, gave a lovely rundown on the property and surroundings. A little hard to find but the instructions were superb and our cab driver from the airport had no problem. Clean and bigger than anticipated but there was a catch, one of the 4 bedrooms did not have AC, however it was well equipped with fans. The location is perfect, was worth the price just for that, everything is walkable and the host hooked us up with Rigo for any of transportation needs and he did not disappoint.

I can honestly say I have never stayed in such a beautiful airbnb with such an attentive hostess! Afrodite greeted us with warmth and only one thing in mind ~ to make us feel right at home. The property itself was just as described, but the people, culture and environment elevate it to something that’s indescribable. I highly recommend this home for your stay in Puerto. You won’t want to ever leave. Truly heaven on earth!

Our stay in La Punta at Berenice & Raphael's was absolutely amazing, perfect in every way. The accommodations had everything we needed and more, the open air kitchen was perfect for all our meals and the pool was amazing to cool down and enjoy the gorgeous surroundings. The place was so unique with many different areas to hang out and enjoy the beautiful weather and views of the beach. We especially loved watching the sun go down from the hammock and mezzanine area. We were so happy to stay here and experience the local atmosphere in La Punta after debating staying in Centro. The surf is unreal and you can find great deals on board rentals for the day!

This Airbnb is really special, if you have the chance to book it do not hesitate! The location is perfect... close to all the action but far enough away that loud music never affects your quality of sleep. 3-5 minutes walk to countless amazing restaurants, and the beach! While sunset on the beach is lovely, we actually found our favourite sunset spot to be the little loft area at the house which affords you an absolutely perfect over the treetops view of the sunset. We watched it every night beer in hand..it's magic! The house has a really great vibe. All the furniture and art and plants all seem considered and contribute to an aesthetically pleasing experience. We had to do a lot of computer work, and found the "office" table to be perfect for our needs. There is a water purifier so you always have access to clean water. The bedroom is airconditioned and cool with a comfy bed. The rest of the place is open area and perfect with the breeze coming through. Highly recommended!

It’s so hard to leave! We’ve used airbnb extensively and this has been without a doubt our favorite stay. It’s somehow even better than the photos. It’s tastefully decorated—each piece of art feels intentional! Equipped with everything you could possibly need, including a great selection of books to read in the hammocks as well as games such as chess and ping pong! Afrodite was so so wonderful. She was extremely flexible with check in/check out and upon arrival, greeted us with incredibly helpful information about PE!! Such a genuinely kind and cool human! Amazing location steps away from the beach. The open air layout was never too hot for us — the bedroom is air conditioned and the living space is breezy with 2 electric fans. We didn’t work during this trip, but the Internet was reliable and fast. Our only regret is not staying here the entire time we’ve been in PE. We’re already talking about returning here with friends!

Keep in mind this is 3 flights of stairs up. The living room and kitchen are outside and cooled by fans. The bedroom is cooled by a minisplit A/C unit. Works good. Note phone number and address in listing are wrong. All worked out OK, but I was a bit confused until confusion was cleared up. (Airbnb won't let address be changed, and Berenice & Raphaël’s were out of town, so Afrodita was our actual host. The outdoor living room and kitchen are a really beautiful space with great views. No problem with rain leaks, roof in great condition. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Great spot. Centrally located near restaurants and the beach. Flexible with checkin and departure was most appreciated. Great intro from Afrodite and support for transport. Highly recommended

This is a beautiful AirBnb. The main living area (open concept living room, kitchen, dining area) is all open to the outdoors with a huge breezy palapa. Very clean and despite the open air, very few bugs. The bedroom has AC, window coverings, and can be locked. The property is beautiful, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. There is a rooftop with an incredible view. You can see the ocean and palm trees from anywhere in the house. There is a nice clean shared pool one level down. Afrodite met us at the property and was very helpful (answered questions quickly, ordered us a taxi). This property is two up from the main commercial street, easy access to cafes, bars, surf shops, food - everything you need. It's easy to catch taxis nearby. Everything is walkable. 5 minutes max to the beach. you can watch surfers and swim (in big waves) very close. The town is lovely - enjoy the sunset each night from the beach everyone goes down to watch it. Very magical. This is an amazing AirBnb!

My bf and I were in PE for the first time for 3 nights. I would certainly stay here again. The open air living space was warm at peak heat but the hosts have plenty of fans to keep the air moving. I am converted to a hammock lover after many hours reading on it. This side of PE (punta) is what’s up. Most energetic, good food, and easiest beaches. The location here is AMAZING. The best tacos are at Takeria—all of the cuts were good. The second best is a 30 minute walk from here. Called Mariinera. Go for sunset … it’s the marina so you get all the boats. Also, no fuss good-ass cocktails.

Beautiful space in a great location. Unfortunately, the power to our unit kept going out during our stay despite being very careful with electricity usage. Hopefully the owners get this fixed soon as everything else about the space was fantastic.

What a peaceful and beautiful time staying at Brisas de Zicatela. Afrodite, the co-host was waiting for us upon arrival to give us a thorough welcome of the space. The palapa style home was thoughtfully designed and had everything we needed for our time. Most of the home is open air, but the bedroom is enclosed with air conditioning. The location is about a 5 minute walk to the beach and even less to bars and restaurants. While the pool is part of the communal space, we almost never saw anyone else so it felt private. And if we did they were always very friendly. Afrodite was so responsive with coordinating a dolphin tour and answering any questions we had. The power went out one night and she immediately helped us get it working again. Great recommendations for restaurants and beaches as well! Would absolutely return.

We stayed at Casa Naia for a week. It’s in a great location a few streets down from the main street, and easily accessible to all the restaurants, shops, yoga and, of course, the beach. Afrodite and her husband were incredibly kind, understanding, responsive and helpful. We appreciated all they did for us! We loved the artistic feel to the place, with details that made the space unique. We especially loved going into the pool to cool off. It was felt like an oasis!

Cant say anything negative about this place. I've stayed at many Airbnbs and this might be the best. The unit is fully stocked with everything you need plus games, ping pong, etc. Short walk to the beach and all the bars/restaurants in La Punta. Communication was great and our host even scheduled us a cab to the airport to catch our early morning flight. And as a bonus, the sweetest, friendliest cat I've ever met lives in the unit. I don't even like cats typically but I fell in love with this one. 10/10 would stay here again.

We fell in love with Berenice and Raphaël’s space. It felt like a home away from home - amazing communal space for swimming, incredible views of the ocean, hammocks for lounging, design books for reading, an open air kitchen and living space. Ines was so helpful from the time our arrival to departure. There was the sweetest cat too. We could have stayed here for weeks on end! Thanks so much for an incredible stay. We will be back.

A beautiful, comfortable and clean home. The beaches in Zicatela were closed due to a contingency, so it's worth checking in advance. Beautiful, clean and comfortable home. The local Zicatela beach was closed due to coronavirus-related measures, so it is worth checking that in advance.

This place is wonderful! It is very spacious and so close to everything. Communication, check in, and check out were so fast and simple! This place was so clean and had all of the amenities! The AC in the bedroom was a major plus! We will for sure be back.

This apartment was super stylish and comfortable. Afrodite helped us with check-in and showed us the ropes regarding the apartment. She also pointed out helpful information regarding the local area. My one regret is that we didn't have more time to spend here, since we were leaving the next day. The main living area was warm, since its open air, however there were fans available and AC in the bedroom. Best part--an adorable/crazy little kitten and mama cat to keep us company and provide entertainment.

It’s a cool stylish space. The private secured parking was a bonus. It has a cool pool but you are right next to other renters so you need to be aware of that. Although we never really saw them just heard them coming and going. We enjoyed the openness of the space but because of the outside street noise (cats howling/ dogs barking and children crying) we were glad our reservation wasn’t for longer because the noise definitely disturbed our sleep

The flat is amazing and is full of nice details, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need, the beach and nice restaurant areas are just a few minutes by walk.

Berenice & Raphael house is simply stunning! You couldnt dream of a better place to stay by the sea, literally 5 min walk from the beach! The house is located in La Punta which the more «wild/hippie» area of PE but the most beautiful and peace one according to me! They are locals and restaurants around too and shops if you want to cook your own food. all the other areas to visit are like 5 to 10min taxi. Afrodite welcomed us and she was super available all the time and gave nice tips to see around etc. Would definitely love to come back one day for a longer stay!!

The loft is amazing! Tastefully decorated with a lot of detail. The terraces and all the rooms are a dream. The owners have cats and they are usually in the dining room, to keep in mind!

This place was truly exceptional. The space was beautiful and well-appointed, and the location in Punta Zicatela was perfect--close to the beach, but away from the crowds in Zicatela and Puerto Escondido. Berenice was very responsive to my inquiries online, but it was her friend and co-host Afrodite who checked us in and answered all of our questions, as Berenice and Raphaël happened to be away. She did a great job explaining everything and gave us lots of useful tips for what beaches to visit, where to eat, etc. (There are cats living at the property, but we love cats. They mostly kept to themselves, and the host takes care of feeding them.) We had a magical time and can't wait to return!

This house is even better in person than on photo. It’s huge, super clean, and it looks gorgeous. The decoration and comfort makes you feel like a million bucks. It’s very hot in Zicatela, so the AC in the bedroom was more than welcome. Everything you need is in the house, there is even sunscreen, maps, and Afrodite who welcomed us was very accommodating, helpful and lovely. The location is very good, near the beach and little shops and restaurants, and by far in the best neighbourhood in puerto Escondido. Loved it, hope to come back some day.
