We had a wonderful time in the peaceful privacy of this beach house. The beach is steps away from the house which we had all to ourselves a majority of the time. Not another soul to be seen. The current of the ocean was pretty strong so just be aware. The dirt road does run fairly close to the house so you’re able to wave to the occasional passerby and could see right through into the kitchen. Not a big deal for us. Hot during the day but the breeze was wonderful with all open windows, AC worked great at night. Our last day there was a very strong thunder storm that knocked out our power. Lightening just yards away from the house! We tried waiting for the power to return but decided at 8pm to find a place closer to the airport after about 5-6 hrs no power. I believe these things come with the territory. It’s the trade off for being fairly remote and having a whole beach to yourself! Marianna encouraged us to wait it out and was very responsive the whole time. Thank you!

I’ve fallen absolutely in love with this place. Not just Playa Palo Seco, but THIS home. It was perfect in every way possible. Semi-private; no crowds on the beach. The housekeeper was super helpful and the host was very responsive. We had some minor maintenance issues pop up, but they had workers visit very quickly to address so that it was no inconvenience. They provided fruit. The pool had floatation devices for the kids. The air conditioning was cold. It’s actually even better than the pictures appear online. We got to feed 12 monkeys on our first morning there and it was a dream come true for our children. I cannot wait to come back!

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful property! The views are remarkable- unobstructed ocean views, and the mangrove in the back was also really cool! Marina helped us set up a boat tour of the mangrove, and they picked us up right from the dock in the backyard. A group of monkeys came to hang out in the trees in the back! There were iguanas around the property, and lots of cool birds! The kids loved it!! The property is a bit remote, off a dirt road, but still close enough to restaurants and grocery stores! The trade-off for the privacy and views was well worth it for us. The kids had a blast going from the beach to the pool and then playing games on the pool table. While we were there, the waves were a bit large, and the currents were strong, so we had to make sure the kids didn't go out too far and kept adults with them the whole time. Not sure how typical that is for the area. It was a really magical and relaxing few days. We would definitely come back again!

Great location if you are looking to a little ways away from all the busy areas. There was an onsite caretaker that was helpful when we had questions otherwise you had no idea they were there. We always felt safe. The property was as described and we had the beach all to ourselves. The various beach items, chairs, umbrella, and boogie board was great and very helpful in us enjoying our stay. The iguanas and crabs were around daily and we were able to see the monkeys one day as well. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider staying there again if we were in the area in the future.

A true slice of paradise! You can’t beat the location, with its gorgeous ocean views, secluded beach, and amazing wildlife (we even had a visit from capuchin monkeys!). The kitchen is incredibly well-stocked, and Mariana is a responsive host who helped us book great local tours. A heads up: The house is showing some wear and tear. We dealt with a few inconvenient plumbing issues (a septic smell, low shower pressure, and a flooded bathroom that required maintenance during our stay). You’ll also need to keep food sealed in ziplocks/the fridge to keep the ants and geckos away. Despite the home's hiccups, the spectacular location makes it entirely worth it.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is amazing, with unbeatable views. Mariana was very attentive throughout the stay, along with Floribeth. Recommended house if you want beach, privacy and relaxation. As a negative point, I would say that there are many bugs (especially geckos all over the house). If you do not like animals, it may bother you. In addition, some areas need better cleaning, such as the windows, although in general it was very clean.

My family and I stayed in late May and early June which I think was just outside of the tourist season. This was our first time in Costa Rica. This house is definitely off the beaten path. There were times we would not see anyone on the beach in either direction. We loved the wild life in the area. We had names for the Iguana's that were in the yard (Tubbs, Lawrence, Rose, and Rebecca) and loved watching them eat the berries in the bushes. We learned a few things along the way which would have helped us. For example, the house has zip lock bags but it didn't dawn on us to put the cereal we purchased in them. We were able to get to several of the activities in Quepos and the Manuel Antonio area quickly and easily. I really enjoyed sitting in the living room with the windows open, listening to the waves and reading my book. Overall a great place to stay!

Beautiful home and even more beautiful location. We stayed with our five children, ages 10 to 16. The beach is steps away and we fell asleep and woke to the sound of the ocean. We played in the waves with the boogie boards provided and also relaxed in the pool which was warm and very clean. My husband rented surf boards for the week and the surf was perfect for our rookie surfers. We practically had the beach to ourselves. Parrita is nearby and had all we needed - not touristy at all which we loved. Olga, the housekeeper, was so warm and kind. She was available for anything we needed, even did our laundry and delivered fresh coconut ready to drink! She let us know the couple times the capuchin monkeys visited which the kids loved. Lastly, our flights changed which meant we didn’t arrive until 3am. Olga waited outside to make sure we got in and also had a well stocked bit of breakfast items waiting for us which was so thoughtful! We would stay here again!!
