I need to clarify these comments which do not accurately state the circumstances. While power  did go down twice it was not due to any issue at our house. One time was due to downed power lines during an extremely heavy rainy season. We do note in our listing that power outages are not uncommon in Costa Rica. Perhaps the guests did not read the special nots and rules in the listing as they also did not comply with the quiet hours. Neighbors complained about the loud music all night. The second loss of power was caused by a neighbor who cut the power at the box at the street   — a first in 12 years of rentals. (We added a padlock.) I entered the property because A/C units were left running when the guests were out for the day. We ask guests upon arrival (and have signs in the house) to conserve energy by not running ac when out. I did not mention these issues  in my review as I personally found the guests to be friendly and having fun.
